liferay error not showing portlet - liferay

Created workspace
Created service builder and added entity
Created DemoPortlet
I'am trying to get data from DB and system.out in doView method in DemoPortlet.
When i use CountryLocalServiceUtil (CountryLocalServiceUtil.getCountriesCount()) - ERROR [http-bio-8080-exec-10][render_portlet_jsp:132] null
I read that I can use CountryLocalService, #Reference etc.? Is this code ok? I can see that my portlet is Active, but it is not showing in Sample widget. Can you provide code, hot to call getCountriesCount() using CountryLocalService?

You don't specify which exact version of Liferay you're using, it's just obvious that it's either 7.0 or 7.1. In the current codebase I don't see any CountryLocalService, but there's a com.liferay.portal.kernel.service.CountryService.
The following code, that is almost identical to your code, works for me on Liferay DXP 7.0, the portlet deploys, appears in the sample category, and was created by just starting from the mvc-portlet template in Liferay Developer Studio. The only file I've edited is the one shown here.

How to generate extent report for cucumber + testng framework

How to generate extent report for cucumber + testng framework in such a way that on each scenario failure I can get the screen shot captured, without repeating the code with every scenario in step definition file
I have setup the Testing framework using Cucumber+Testng. However, I need extent reporting but not sure how to achieve it through testNG runner class without actually repeating the code with every scenario of step definition. So the idea is to write code in one place just like using cucumber hooks which will run for each and every scenario.
I Have already tried the approach with TestNG listener with Extent report but with this the drawback is I have to write the code every time for each and every scenario. LIke below I have ITestListnerImpl.java, ExtentReportListner and YouTubeChannelValidationStepDef where for each scenario I have to repeat the loginfo and screencapture methods
Code: ItestListerner.java
package com.testuatomation.Listeners;
import org.testng.ITestContext;
import org.testng.ITestListener;
import org.testng.ITestResult;
import com.aventstack.extentreports.ExtentReports;

How to add an image into Liferay 7 Control Menu

I am working on Liferay 7 and want to add an image in the centre of the Control Menu. How can this be done?
I have followed the steps mentioned over the official website on how to customise the Control Menu.
Few specific questions I have are:
Is there a defined template of JSP file that needs to be used?
Is there a defined name of the JSP file that needs to be used?
The code I am using is:
package portlet;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.lang.reflect.GenericArrayType;
import java.util.Locale;
import javax.servlet.RequestDispatcher;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
import org.osgi.service.component.annotations.Component;
import com.liferay.product.navigation.control.menu.BaseJSPProductNavigationControlMenuEntry;
import com.liferay.product.navigation.control.menu.BaseProductNavigationControlMenuEntry;
import com.liferay.product.navigation.control.menu.ProductNavigationControlMenuEntry;
import com.liferay.product.navigation.control.menu.constants.ProductNavigationControlMenuCategoryKeys;
#Component(
immediate = true,
property = {
"com.liferay.portlet.display-category=category.sample",
"product.navigation.control.menu.category.key=" + ProductNavigationControlMenuCategoryKeys.TOOLS,
"product.navigation.control.menu.category.order:Integer=19",
"com.liferay.portlet.instanceable=true",
"javax.portlet.security-role-ref=power-user,user",
"javax.portlet.display-name=Customproductnavigationcontrolmenuentry Portlet"
},
service = ProductNavigationControlMenuEntry.class
)
public class CustomproductnavigationcontrolmenuentryPortlet extends BaseJSPProductNavigationControlMenuEntry implements ProductNavigationControlMenuEntry {
#Override
public boolean includeIcon(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws IOException {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
RequestDispatcher requestdispacher = request.getRequestDispatcher("/view.jsp");
try{
requestdispacher.include(request, response);
}
catch(Exception e){
e.printStackTrace();
}
return true;
}
#Override
public boolean includeBody(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws IOException {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
RequestDispatcher requestdispacher = request.getRequestDispatcher("/view.jsp");
try{
requestdispacher.include(request, response);
}
catch(Exception e){
e.printStackTrace();
}
return true;
}
#Override
public String getIconJspPath() {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
return null;
}
}
And on deploying this on the server, I get the following error:
ERROR [http-nio-8080-exec-10][IncludeTag:128] Current URL /web/guest generates exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

OnDataChanged is not called

I have a problem with comunication between my phone and wear device. I decided to add wear module to my app. Wear app has just one class (MainActivity)
package cz.johrusk.myapplication;
import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.support.annotation.NonNull;
import android.support.wearable.view.WatchViewStub;
import android.util.Log;
import android.widget.TextView;
import com.google.android.gms.common.ConnectionResult;
import com.google.android.gms.common.api.GoogleApiClient;
import com.google.android.gms.common.api.ResultCallback;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.DataApi;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.DataEventBuffer;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.PutDataMapRequest;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.PutDataRequest;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.Wearable;
public class MainActivity extends Activity implements GoogleApiClient.OnConnectionFailedListener,DataApi.DataListener {
GoogleApiClient mGoogleApiClient;
private TextView mTextView;
static final String TAG = MainActivity.class.getSimpleName();
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
final WatchViewStub stub = (WatchViewStub) findViewById(R.id.watch_view_stub);
stub.setOnLayoutInflatedListener(new WatchViewStub.OnLayoutInflatedListener() {
#Override
public void onLayoutInflated(WatchViewStub stub) {
mTextView = (TextView) stub.findViewById(R.id.text);
}
});
mGoogleApiClient = new GoogleApiClient.Builder(this)
.addApi(Wearable.API)
.addConnectionCallbacks(new GoogleApiClient.ConnectionCallbacks() {
#Override
public void onConnected(Bundle connectionHint) {
Log.d(TAG, "onConnected: " + connectionHint);
sendNumber(1);
Log.d(TAG,"BBBBBBBB");
}
#Override
public void onConnectionSuspended(int cause) {
Log.d(TAG, "onConnectionSuspended: " + cause);
}
})
.addOnConnectionFailedListener(this)
.build();
mGoogleApiClient.connect();
Log.d(TAG,"mGoogleApiClient connected;");
}
#Override
public void onConnectionFailed(#NonNull ConnectionResult connectionResult) {
Log.d(TAG,"FAILE" + connectionResult);
}
public void sendNumber(int number) {
PutDataMapRequest putDataMapRequest = PutDataMapRequest.create("/number");
putDataMapRequest.getDataMap().putInt("number",number);
putDataMapRequest.getDataMap().putLong("Time",System.currentTimeMillis());
PutDataRequest putDataReq = putDataMapRequest.asPutDataRequest();
putDataReq.setUrgent();
Wearable.DataApi.putDataItem(mGoogleApiClient, putDataReq)
.setResultCallback(new ResultCallback<DataApi.DataItemResult>() {
#Override
public void onResult(#NonNull DataApi.DataItemResult dataItemResult) {
if (!dataItemResult.getStatus().isSuccess()) {
Log.d(TAG,"Fail");
}
else{
Log.d(TAG,"Succes");
}
}
});
}
#Override
protected void onStart() {
super.onStart();
mGoogleApiClient.connect();
}
#Override
public void onDataChanged(DataEventBuffer dataEventBuffer) {
Log.d(TAG,"TEST");
}
}
I quess that "Wearable.DataApi.putDataItem" should call WearableListenerService in my phone app. Here is that service:
package cz.johrusk.showsmscode.service;
import android.util.Log;
import com.google.android.gms.common.api.GoogleApiClient;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.DataEvent;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.DataEventBuffer;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.DataMap;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.DataMapItem;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.Wearable;
import com.google.android.gms.wearable.WearableListenerService;
public class WatchListener_service extends WearableListenerService {
#Override
public void onCreate() {
super.onCreate();
GoogleApiClient mGoogleApiClient = new GoogleApiClient.Builder(this)
.addApi(Wearable.API)
.build();
mGoogleApiClient.connect();
}
#Override
public void onDataChanged(DataEventBuffer dataEventBuffer) {
Log.d("prijato","number is: ");
for (DataEvent dataEvent : dataEventBuffer) {
if (dataEvent.getType() == DataEvent.TYPE_CHANGED) {
DataMap dataMap = DataMapItem.fromDataItem(dataEvent.getDataItem()).getDataMap();
String path = dataEvent.getDataItem().getUri().getPath();
if (path.equals("/number")){
int number = dataMap.getInt("numa");
long time = dataMap.getInt("timestamp");
Log.d("received","number is: " + number);
}
}
}
}
}
However, onDataChanged method in WatchListener_service isn't called. onResult method inside ResultCallbacks print "Succes" so it seems that DataItem is send correctly.
I already find many similar problems on Stackoverlflow so I checked all these things:
Both modules has same applicationId
Both modules use 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-wearable:9.0.0'
SetUrgent is used to putDataRequest so there shouldnt be any delay.
WearableListenerService has declared correct intent filter in Manifest :
action android:name="com.google.android.gms.wearable.DATA_CHANGED"
data android:scheme="wear" android:host="*"
Both phone and Wear app run on physical device. My question is... What should I do to fix this issue?
Thanks
Check if both apps have the same debug key. I had some problems with that and problem was different keys for both apps (wear and mobile).
PS: The Android Wear API is ridiculous. I quit developing for Wear because of how terrible is that API that doest not work as they say this should.

Primefaces Picklist is always empty when using Postconstruct

My code below doesn't work, I'm using primefaces picklist and postconstruct annotation to init method with try catch block.
However my picklistbean is empty, I tried all the ways to make it work but none of them worked.
Can anyone provide me working example for picklist, or in my code am I missing something ?
I'm stuck to this problem for so long, I'll be glad if someone helps me.

In PostContruct,your dao class doesn't inject in your bean.Try preRenderView when you want to initialize somethings in your bean.
Also dont use tanidao = new TrvrTaniDAO(); in your bean.TaniDao should be injected by spring with Autowired.
PreRenderView Example
EDIT
Also if you should inject TrvrTaniDAO with jsf managed property.
#ManagedProperty(value = "#{TrvrTaniDAO}")
private TrvrTaniDAO tanidao;

JAXB issue-- unexpected element

My JAXB parser suddenly stopped working today. It was working for several weeks. I get the following message. I haven't changed this code for several weeks. Wondering if this set up is good.
EDIT 2: Please could somebody help me! I can't figure this out.

lenList.add(pu.next());
}
The XML being unmarshalled:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<lineEquipment>
<lineEquipmentRecord>
<telephoneNpa>333</telephoneNpa>
<telephoneNxx>333</telephoneNxx>
<telephoneLine>4444</telephoneLine>
<telephoneSuffix>1</telephoneSuffix>
<nodeAddress>xxxx</nodeAddress>
<groupIdentifier>LEN</groupIdentifier>
</lineEquipmentRecord>
<lineEquipmentRecord>
<telephoneNpa>111</telephoneNpa>
<telephoneNxx>111</telephoneNxx>
<telephoneLine>2222</telephoneLine>
<telephoneSuffix>0</telephoneSuffix>
<nodeAddress>xxxx</nodeAddress>
<groupIdentifier>LEN</groupIdentifier>
</lineEquipmentRecord>
</lineEquipment>
Finally, here is MyClass:
import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlElement;
import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlRootElement;
/**

* line equipment information.
* #author spgezf
*
*/
#XmlRootElement(name="lineEquipmentRecord")
public class MyClass {
private String telephoneNpa;
private String telephoneNxx;
private String telephoneLine;

#XmlElement(name="groupIdentifier")
public String getGroupIdentifier() {

public void setGroupIdentifier(String groupIdentifier) {

}
Thanks, this is classloading issue I couldn't overcome so I abandoned JAXB.
Your PartialUnmarshaller code worked for me. Below is an alternate version that changes the skipElements method that may work better.
import java.io.InputStream;
import java.util.NoSuchElementException;
import javax.xml.bind.*;
import javax.xml.stream.*;
public class PartialUnmarshaller<T> {
XMLStreamReader reader;
Class<T> clazz;
Unmarshaller unmarshaller;
public PartialUnmarshaller(InputStream stream, Class<T> clazz) throws XMLStreamException, FactoryConfigurationError, JAXBException {
this.clazz = clazz;
this.unmarshaller = JAXBContext.newInstance(clazz).createUnmarshaller();
unmarshaller.setEventHandler(new ValidationEventHandler() {
#Override
public boolean handleEvent(ValidationEvent event) {
System.out.println(event.getMessage());
return true;
}
});
this.reader = XMLInputFactory.newInstance().createXMLStreamReader(stream);
/* ignore headers */
skipElements();
/* ignore root element */
reader.nextTag();
/* if there's no tag, ignore root element's end */
skipElements();
}
public T next() throws XMLStreamException, JAXBException {
if (!hasNext())
throw new NoSuchElementException();
T value = unmarshaller.unmarshal(reader, clazz).getValue();
skipElements();
return value;
}
public boolean hasNext() throws XMLStreamException {
return reader.hasNext();
}
public void close() throws XMLStreamException {
reader.close();
}
private void skipElements() throws XMLStreamException {
while(reader.hasNext() && !reader.isStartElement()) {
reader.next();
}
}
}
