Recording composite video to an audio file - audio

I'm trying to record raw composite video siganl to an audio file by connecting the yellow rca cable from a player to the mic input in my pc so I can then put the cable in my audio output and connect it with the video input in an old crt tv and play back the signal to the tv so that I can view the original video.
But that didn't work and I can only see random white lines.
Is that due to frequency limits in the audio format or in the onboard audio chip, or is analog-digital conversion and the other way when recording and playing back damaging the signal?

Video signals operate in ranges above 1 Mhz, where high-quality audio signals only max out at ~96Khz. Video signals would likely need to be be encoded in a format that an audio recorder could pick up, then decoded back into a video signal before a television could render it properly. A very high bitrate uncompressed audio file may be able to store a low-fidelity video signal, a black and white signal could be stored at sub-vhs quality, but could be at least a resolvable image, recording component video may be possible even though syncing the seperate tracks would be hard.

I tried it.
Sampling rate is 192KHz. It can record up to 192/2=96KHz.
I succeed to capture part of luminance signal.
Color signal is in very high frequency.
So we can't record color signal using soundcard.
Video is very distorted.
However we may can caputure more clearly using soundcard more highter sampling rate.

How do I record audio using a microphone and play it in a speaker simultaneously by only storing one sec of Audio in LINUX

I am now working on a Audio algorithm which need 256 samples of audio from a micro phone and i need to process this 256 samples and result should get played on a speaker. I have done it using two wave file which is already on the file, now i need to do it in the real time.

I want to do live audio translation via microphone, to get streamed live vid/audio from Facebook, plug the mic into laptop and do live translation by mixing existing audio stream with one coming from the mic (translation). This is OK, somehow I got this part by using audio filter "amix" and mix two audio streams together into one. Now I want to add more perfection to it, is it possible to (probably is) upon mic voice detection to automatically decrease/fade down 20% volume of input/original audio stream to hear translation (mic audio) more loudly and then when mic action/voice stops for lets say 3-5 seconds the volume of original audio stream fades up/goes up to normal volume... is this too much, i can play with sox or similar?

Noise reduction for audio buffer as it gets filled in

I have a scenario where some audio is being received over the internet. The audio itself has lot of noise, which needs to be filtered out. Received audio is raw PCM 16 bit.
Tools like audacity can remove noise, but they create a noise profile and then remove the noise from part of or from the whole file. I want to instead remove noise from the audio as it comes in and gets written to a buffer, so that once all the audio is received and written to the buffer, noise reduction is already completed and the audio can be played out. Each packet from the network sends around 1 KB of audio, and the total audio is around 1 MB.
The audio contains conversation between two people, so I want to keep the audio within voice recording range (80-255 Hz from the comments).
I want to ask if anyone knows of any algorithm that can achieve this.

How to get absolute signal in PyAudio?

I'm trying to use pyaudio to analyze audio playing on my computer's system. To do this I am selecting a recording device called Stereo Mix as my input signal into pyaudio. Stereo Mix seems to be a recording device provided by my computer's soundcard, VIA High Definition Audio.
The problem is the signal I get from pyaudio changes in amplitude when I increase the volume on my computer. I would like to get an absolute signal which does not change with increased volume (ideally the raw signal generated from the computer's system). Does anyone have a solution this problem?

I hear clicking in audio with a DirectShow graph created with Graph Edit yet player software on my PC plays audio smoothly

I have a DirectShow application that I built with Delphi 6 using the DSPACK component library. For two days I have been trying to solve a problem with audio playback. When I run the filter graph I create I hear repetitive clicks in the playback. What was really confusing was that the audio file I created simultaneously with my filter graph had clean continuous audio, not gaps. So I knew that the audio buffers were being delivered properly but something I was doing was "jamming up" the "live" playback. Or so I thought. I spent two days diagnosing the problem looking for semaphores being held too long (locks) or perhaps timestamp problems, which I documented in this other Stack Overflow post:

A few minutes ago I decided to try a test with the Graph Edit utility. I created a dead simple graph consisting of just the capture device I was using (VOIP phone microphone), and the renderer device I was using (HD ATI Rear Audio output to headphones). Two filters total. Much to my surprise I heard the same clicking. So here was a case that did not involve my code at all and I heard clicking.
Then I changed the audio renderer in the Graph Edit created filter graph to the VOIP phone ear piece. The clicking went away.
Now I know there's a way to get smooth audio on ut the ATI Rear Audio device since its the preferred audio output device and everything from videos I play on my PC to wave files I play on it sound flawless. So are the other software programs doing something different than just connecting filters? I am wondering if perhaps the default mode for the HD ATI Rear Audio is without double-buffering and perhaps those other software programs know how to enable that feature? Or are they doing something else, perhaps using another DirectShow or DirectSound filter or technique for example, to make the audio play smoothly on the HD ATI Rear Audio renderer?
What you possibly having (depends on actual stuttering though) is that when you are using capture and playback devices backed by different hardware, their sampling rates slightly differ. For example, you capture 22050 Hz at actual rate of (22050 - 2%) Hz and you play it back with hardware consuming bytes at (22050 + 2%) Hz.
Now obviously this won't work out smooth: eventually playback will experience data underlow... If you save into file and play back from file, it will go smooth as the file will be able to supply data at the rate of playback device. If capture and playback devices are the same hardware, they are likely to use shared "hardware" clock and rates match.
The problem is known as "rate matcing" and is discussed on MSDN in Live Sources section.
