I recently had some of my Visual Studio 2017 settings change on me due to a lisence renewal. One in particular is that I used to have VS configured to open different websites in different tabs of the same browser instance. Now the websites open in separate browser instances.
I fixed this problem once before but the same fix no longer works. Here is the link which helped me fix my problem before:
Open site in new tab of existing Chrome instance when debugging
The image they have for Tools > Options > Debugging > General ... looks like this:
Mine looks slightly different:
Microsoft must have made some updates since the above link was posted because not only do I see differences in the Options window but leaving "Enable Javascript..." unchecked no longer works.
What is the current way of getting multiple web apps to show up in different tab of the same browser instances rather than in separate browser instances?
I have faced same issue today in vs 2017. To solve this problem simple follow below steps:
1) Click on Tool => options
2) Find Projects and Solutions on left side
3) Extend Projects and Solutions => Click on Web Projects
4) On right side you will see some option you need to uncheck: Stop debugger when browser window is closed,
close browser when debugging stops
Note: It is 2nd last option from bottom.
I think it will help you!

These websites were working before and suddenly after a restart of my AWS Workspaces these websites are returning below error on all browsers. I have re-installed IIS and also deleted the files from C:\inetpub\history. When i run the same website from Visual Studio it works but the url would be like http://localhost:29740.
This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at http://localhost/xxx might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED
Are you using chrome browser? there are many reasons for this error, such as the website or service you are trying to access does not support the SSLv3 protocol (Secure Socket Layer Version 3 Protocol), some third-party program like your antivirus or an extension install on to your browser might be interrupting your connection to the website.
Before trying any fixes, try to access the same website from a different browser and preferably a different connection. Try to access the website from the browser in Incognito mode may help too. But if you still encounter this error, here is what you can do to fix it.
Disable SSLv3 in Google Chrome:
First, add a Chrome shortcut to the desktop, then right-click the Chrome desktop shortcut, select Properties, and click the Shortcut tab as below.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –ssl-version-min=tls1
Disable Antivirus and Firewall
In the System tray on the right corner of your taskbar, right-click on the icon of your Antivirus and then click on the option that refers to disabling your antivirus protection temporarily. If prompted, set the duration of antivirus to be disabled as per your choice. You may temporarily disable Windows Defender in you use iton Windows 10.
Now, you can check if your issue is resolved or not. Additionally, you can disable your Windows Firewall protection too. This is due to the fact that the Windows Firewall monitors and authorizes or denies and inward or outward connection from your computer.
Now, you can check again if your issue is resolved or not.
Reset Google Chrome
To reset Chrome browser, make sure that Google Chrome is not running anywhere in the background using the Task Manager. Now, hit the WINKEY + R combinations to open Run and then navigate to the following path,
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
Now, select the folder named as Default and hit the Shift + Delete button combinations and then click on Yes for the confirmation prompt you get.
After deleting the Default folder, open Google Chrome and click on the Menu button denoted by three verticle dots in the top right corner. Then, click on Settings. In the Settings section, scroll down and click on Advanced to reveal the Advanced Settings.
Now, scroll down to the Restore Settings to their original defaults button and click on it.Click on Reset, and this will reset your Google Chrome browser. Now check if you issue is fixed or not.
Reinstall Google Chrome
If all the methods that are mentioned above do not work properly, the last and the ultimate fix would be reinstalling Google Chrome.
After Summit 2019, we were excited to start working on updates for 2018R2, and I practiced adding mobile screens for our custom modules in my sandbox.
We decided to fully refresh our DEV instance and reapply our customizations. No problem there, but when I try "Add New Screen" in the mobile section and then try to enter my screen number, the mouse goes to "waiting" and I can't add my new screen. Eventually, I get a "timed out" message. Same problem even when trying to add a standard Acumatica screen. Everything else in the project and Acumatica web interface seems to work fine.
Any ideas on where to look for what is preventing adding a new screen?
I'm on Build 18.209.0021.
It seems like an Ajax issue in the customization project editor. After callback to server the client page javascript is stuck waiting on the server response. You can try using Chrome browser which has less of those Ajax hangs and update Chrome if you're already using it.
There is also a known issue specifically affecting 2018 R2 Mobile that leads to generic error Sequence contains no matching element on mobile detail page. Based on your question this doesn't seem to be the issue you are having but you can give the workaround to this bug a try:
Open Generic Inquiry screen (SM208000)
Select FS-ServiceOrder inquiry, uncheck Expose to mobile and save
On Apply Updates screen (SM203510), click on Restart Application
This was identified by Acumatica support as a bug. Upgrade to a new release for the fix.
I've 4 monitors connected to a pc running CentOS 7. Each physical monitor/display should show a website in full screen and auto refresh it every x seconds.
I've tried:
opening from bash and moving with xdotool -> how can I distinguish between the 4 chrome or firefox windows? If I don't do it and apply to the last active this might become unreliable with other programs open.
researched devilspie, seems it has the same problem (can't distinguish between multiple chrome/firefox windows)
using DISPLAY variable -> does only find one display 0.0
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ -> does not work with extended workspace, contacted developer
I've only a xrandr bash script to rearrange the displays when they become connected (three of four may be switched off to save power).
I would use a firefox/chrome add on for the auto refresh functionality.
Maybe someone can give me a hint how to reliably do this?
In addition to the "easy auto refresh" chrome plugin. I have another idea for you, why not use a chrome extension for handling the positioning.
It is of course, only for chrome(maybe thats fine for you).
Background: We had related difficulties. Internal webapp that opens multiple documents in windows, and need to be placed in other monitors.
The javascript does not support this, for security reasons and only a native extension can properly work with the tabs/windows objects.
Therefore, we have created an open source chrome extension for doing exactly that: flexible windows position across multi-monitor setups.
In your case you can define for each monitor a website-rule that the window would appear there.
The chrome extension is called "MultiWindow Positioner" and its complete free. You can get it at the chrome store here
The actual source code you find in github in the project chrome-multiwindow-positioner

I am trying to integrate Glimpse into my existing ASP.NET MVC 5 project. But I cannot see any HUD at bottom right corner as demonstrated in their site. I have all of the assemblies downloaded from NuGet, using Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate and running in localhost.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem? I am not finding any relevant topic online either.
#Md.lbrahim by looking at the comment replies of you above, it seems that Glimpse is indeed active and rendering its <script> tags.
Can you check with the browser developer tools whether the Glimpse client is actually rendered at the bottom but maybe hidden by another element that has a higher z-index?
If you still can't get the HUD to show up, then maybe create an issue on our issue tracker and try to provide as much details as possible (browser used, versions, other installed packages that might interfere with Glimpse rendering etc...)
I'm looking at the spotify apps api. When I try to open the inspector it says "Please select the app to inspect". Selecting or loading an app does not help, I always get this message, on any app. I have a developer account and am using version 0.8.10.2.g1283206d, I also tried older versions. I'm on Windows 7. Did anyone get this error? Am I missing something?
You can not inspect other peoples apps. It only seems to work on apps you have loaded from your local machine.
I had the same problem but found a solution
So apparently it works for me, if you right-click the open application and hit "Show Inspector". After that, it works to hit show inspector from the top menu bar as well. However as soon as you go to another app at switch back to your local app, you're once again not able to hit "show inspector" from the top menu bar. Seems like there is a bug in the interface.
Try right-clicking the app itself and choosing "Show Inspector" from the pop-up menu you get.
