I have this page structure, for a multi-language website:
- Home En (/en)
- Page1 En (/en/page1)
- Page2 En (/en/page2)
- Home Es (/es)
- Page1 Es (/es/page1)
- Page2 Es (/es/page2)
The default language is en, I'd like to hide the en from the URL with a htaccess rule.
This is what is currently in my htaccess file:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/perch
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule .* /perch/core/runway/start.php [L]
I've tried adding this RewriteRule ^/en/(.+)$ /$1 [QSA] to the second line, but it has no affect.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^/en/(.+)$ /$1 [QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/perch
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule .* /perch/core/runway/start.php [L]
Can anyone help?
Have it this way in your site root .htaccess:
RewriteEngine On
# external redirect from actual URL to pretty one
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/en/(\S+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=301,L,NE]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(?!en/). en%{REQUEST_URI} [L,NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/perch [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^ /perch/core/runway/start.php [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ file.php?id=$1
RewriteRule ^$ /file.php
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.*&)?id=([^&]*)(&.*)?$
RewriteRule ^ %{REQUEST_URI}?%1%2%3
Help me with htaccess code?
You can have your rules like this:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+\?id=([^\s&]+)\s [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1? [R=301,L,NE]
RewriteRule ^$ /file.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^([\w-]+)/?$ file.php?id=$1 [L,QSA]
My URL was
http://demo.example.com/parentFolder/
but i have to redirect it to child folder, URL as
http://demo.example.com/parentFolder/ChildFolder/
i have redirect it in htaccess as
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?demo.example.com/parentFolder$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/ChildFolder/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /ChildFolder/$1
#RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?demo.example.com/parentFolder$
RewriteRule ^(/)?$ ChildFolder/ [L]
</IfModule>
but didn't remove sub folder(ChildFolder) from URL.
i want to access childFolder after redirect but want to hide childFolder from URL.
You can use these rule in parentFolder/.htaccess:
RewriteEngine On
# remove ChildFolder from URL show in browser
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/+(parentFolder)/ChildFolder/(\S*)\s [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1/%2 [R=301,NE,L]
# add ChildFolder internally
RewriteRule ^$ ChildFolder/ [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(?!ChildFolder/).*$ ChildFolder/$0 [L,NC]
I have this URL: https://example.com/sub/product and I don't want to show "sub" in my URL so that the final URL would look like https://example.com/product and would redirect the indexed URLs to this URL. Is it possible? Here is my current .htaccess file:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.example.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://example.com/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
ReWriteRule ^([a-z\-0-9]+)$ index.php?goto=$1 [L,NC]
ReWriteRule ^([a-z\-]+)/([a-z\-0-9]+)$ index.php?goto=$1&catidx=$2 [L,NC]
ErrorDocument 404 /404/404.php
You can use the following :
RewriteEngine on
#--redirect from "/sub/foo to "/foo"--#
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /sub/([^\s]+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ /%1 [L,R]
#--rewrite "/foo" to its orignal location "/sub/foo"
RewriteRule %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /sub/$1 [L,QSA]
I know there are some questions like this out there but the solutions are not helpful for me.
I´m using htaccess to redirect to the index.php if the request file isn´t defined (code above).
I´d like to add a code-line that if the user requests for example:
http://www.example.com/test/index.php
he will redirect to
http://www.example.com/test/
but internal it will redirect to the index.php.
Is there a way to extend my code so that it works like I want it to?
# Add Slash
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(/$|\.)
RewriteRule (.*) %{REQUEST_URI}/ [R=301,L]
# Redirect to index.php if the following sites were not match
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.(php|sql|tgz|gz|txt|ttf|TTF|log|txt|ini|html|xml|xhtml|htm)$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/index.php$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/phpinfo.php$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/out.php$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/sitemap[^0-9]*\.xml$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/robots.txt$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?dir=$1 [QSA,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?dir=$1 [QSA,L]
Complete code:
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
# Turn mod_rewrite on
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
# Take off index.php
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*/)index\.php$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^ http://%{HTTP_HOST}%1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.(php|sql|tgz|gz|txt|ttf|TTF|log|txt|ini|html|xml|xhtml|htm)$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/((index|phpinfo|out)\.php|robots\.txt|sitemap[^0-9]*\.xml)$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?dir=$1 [QSA,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /index.php?dir=$1 [QSA,L]
# Add Slash for non-files
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule [^/]$ %{REQUEST_URI}/ [R=301,L]
currently I am using this htaccess access, but the site still loads for invalid url, it doesn't goto 404.
ex: http://www.couponcoder.in/babyoye.com -->works and main content
http://www.couponcoder.in/babyo ----> invalid url, it displays homepage
and site loads for both slash and without slash, I just want it to redirect non-slash
www.couponcoder.in/babyoye.com/
www.couponcoder.in/babyoye.com
can someone help out with this?
Options +Indexes
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([a-z.]+)?couponcoder\.in$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC]
RewriteRule .? http://www.%1couponcoder.in%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^admin$ Admin/index.php?qstr=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ index.php?qstr=$1 [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?qstr=$1 [L]
I can't read if you want to have the non-slash version or if you want to redirect the non-slash version to the slashed one. I'm assuming you want the former.
...
#remove slash, and redirect
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ $1 [R]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?qstr=$1 [L]
