I would like to apply a DDMTemplate pro-grammatically to JournalArticle. This is my code:
String prevDDMTemplate = articleDisplay.getDDMTemplateKey();
articleDisplay.setDDMTemplateKey(MY_SIMPLE_TEMPLATE);
articleContent = articleDisplay.getContent();
System.out.println(articleContent);
articleTitle = articleDisplay.getTitle();
articleDisplay.setDDMTemplateKey(prevDDMTemplate);
My expectation is that articleContent view is related to MY_SIMPLE_TEMPLATE template. But it doesn't work, the result is the content with the original template.
I need this change of view to print and to send the content by email. Is another way to do it?

I have a use case where there a doc needs to get send from DS and via an API call and we are seeing some weirdness in DS around tagging. In all our templates, the tags for name and title get populated with the same text throughout the document. For example, if I write ‘Obama’ in one of the boxes next to “Name”, every single box in the document for name, title, and even company, gets populated with ‘Obama’. Any ideas?
The DS documents are getting created via the API, and the tags are created like this:
envelope.Tabs = new DocuSignAPI.ArrayOfTab();
envelope.Tabs.Tab = new List<DocuSignAPI.Tab>();
DocuSignAPI.Tab t = new DocuSignAPI.Tab();
t.Type_x = 'Custom';
DocuSignAPI.AnchorTab at = new DocuSignAPI.AnchorTab();
at.AnchorTabString = '\\n1\\';
t.RecipientID = recipient.ID;
t.CustomTabRequired = false;
at.IgnoreIfNotPresent = true;
t.AnchorTabItem = at;
envelope.Tabs.Tab.add(t);
You would have set same dataLabel for all your DS Tags. If you have same datalabel for multiple DS Tags then DocuSign will replicate the same value for all DS Tags.
I am adding a site column into a document library default view and want it to be visible/shown when you click onto the list itself. However, I am unsure on how to do this. The code I have so far
// Get the view (this is the default view)
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.View v = Employeecvlist.GetViewByName("All Documents");
// Load it up
clientContext.Load(v, x => x.ViewFields);
clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
// Get the field I want to add to the view
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.Field name =
Employeecvlist.Fields.GetByInternalNameOrTitle("Name");
clientContext.Load(name);
clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
// Add this field to the view !! Nothing else in the view object to allow to make it visible by default !!
v.ViewFields.Add(name.InternalName);
// Finally, update the view
v.Update();
If you look at the image file below, I basically want to be able to check the "display" checkbox to true for the above field.
Can someone point me into the right direction?
Thanks
You need to perform clientContext.ExecuteQuery() again to persist the changes. Also, there's no need to do it twice to load your objects, load everything you need and then get it from the server:
//Put following line in the using section
using Microsoft.SharePoint.Client;
//Your code
View v = Employeecvlist.GetViewByName("All Documents");
Field name = Employeecvlist.Fields.GetByInternalNameOrTitle("Name");
clientContext.Load(v, x => x.ViewFields);
clientContext.Load(name);
v.ViewFields.Add(name.InternalName);
v.Update();
clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
When trying to retrieve DocumentPageTitle and DocumentPageDescription using GetStringValue() on a custom page type TreeNode, the result is always coming back as the default value (in this case an empty string) passed into the method.
I'm able to successfully retrieve other column values as well as standard document properties such as DocumentName, DocumentID and AbsoluteURL, but not the document meta properties.
The respective fields in the Meta tab of document/page do have values and are being successfully rendered in the by default such as <meta name="description" content=".." />
// returns empty string
string documentPageDescription = DocumentContext.CurrentDocument.GetString("DocumentPageDescription", string.Empty);
// returns empty string
TreeNode document = parameters[0] as TreeNode;
string documentPageDescription = document.GetStringValue("DocumentPageDescription", string.Empty);
I've tried setting option Inherits fields from page type to "Page (menu item)", but that did not help.
Does the custom page type need to inherit from something specifically or have a specific setting activated to access these values? Or if what I think is a TreeNode in fact isn't, how could I get the TreeNode from this object that has the properties listed before available?
Thank you for any help you can provide.
ValidationHelper.GetString(CMS.DocumentEngine.DocumentContext.CurrentDocument.GetValue("DocumentPageDescription"), string.Empty)
Two things to check, one, are you sure the meta data is available on the page you are pulling? Two, is your API actually pulling all the data for that page?
I've used these in my test and both returned the metadata.
var page = DocumentHelper.GetDocuments().Path("/Articles/Coffee-Beverages-Explained").FirstObject;
Response.Write(page.GetStringValue("DocumentPageDescription", string.Empty));
TreeProvider tree = new TreeProvider(MembershipContext.AuthenticatedUser);
TreeNode tn = tree.SelectNodes().OnCurrentSite().Path("/Articles/Coffee-Beverages-Explained").FirstObject;
Response.Write(tn.GetStringValue("DocumentPageDescription", string.Empty));
The DocumentPageTitle and DocumentPageDescription were coming back as null when the custom page type document/page was inheriting from parent/global values.
I was able to use the following to get the properties when not inheriting, while falling back to the parent value when inheriting was taking place:
string documentPageTitle = document.GetStringValue("DocumentPageTitle", DocumentContext.CurrentTitle);
This approach came from the following issue on Kentico DevNet.
Thank you for your help and suggestions, it's appreciated.
I got a requirement. I have added two text fields Value and Key from structure in Web Content Display portlet.
right now in the portlet i am getting value from hard code like below.
BasicModel model = (BasicModel)requestContext.getFlowScope().get("BasicModel");
if(model == null){
model = new BasicModel();
}
model.setEmployeeId("AB1223344S");
model.setHireDate("01-Jan-2000");
model.setNiNumber("AB123456S");
model.setDateOfBirth("12-Dec-1980");
model.setBasicForm(new BasicDetailsForm());
}
but what i want is to get the value of each attribute from web content. Like, If i have given lfr.intel.empid as key and ABSD1822D as value in the added web content structure field like this.
and we can fetch the value of key like this.
model.setEmployeeId(lfr.intel.empid);
You can write a custom function for this which passes the key to that function, now that function will use the JournalArticleLocalServiceUtil API to get respective value from the DB.
Now you need to find How to fetch values from JournalArticleLocalServiceUtil, which you can google or this link can help you.
Thanks.
Try this, assuming that you could get the JournalArticle object, I've done it using the resourcePrimKey
long resourcePrimKey = 12345; //hard coded the resourcePrimKey
JournalArticle article = JournalArticleLocalServiceUtil.getLatestArticle(resourcePrimKey);
com.liferay.portal.kernel.xml.Document document = SAXReaderUtil.read(article.getContentByLocale("en_US"));
Node keyNode = document.selectSingleNode("/root/dynamic-element[#name='Key']/dynamic-content");
String key = keyNode.getStringValue();
Node valueNode = document.selectSingleNode("/root/dynamic-element[#name='Value']/dynamic-content");
String value = valueNode .getStringValue();
I want to parse url attribute from the XML and show image in image control (the one reffered to by the URL) in listbox from the following feed link: http://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/rss.xml
My code is:
var ComingNewsFromUri = from rss in XElement.Parse(e.Result).Descendants("item")
select new NewsItems
{
Title = rss.Element("title").Value,
PubDate = rss.Element("pubDate").Value,
Description = rss.Element("description").Value
};
For RSS, I would recommend using SyndicationFeed and SyndicationItem....does all the parsing and converting to objects automatically and brilliantly for you.
http://ryanhayes.net/blog/how-to-build-an-rss-feed-reader-in-windows-phone-7part-i-retrieving-parsing-and-displaying-post-titles/
I have an RSS feed app on the store myself using SyndicationFeed and it is very reliable and convenient.
Here is another sample by Microsoft
