I am new to jupyter and right from start I am trying to run it in VSCode and that too with a virtual environment. I hope that is not too much for you guys.
So here are steps I did;
I installed python and vscode
Added Paths in windows and all virtual environment things work fine
For data processing I created new virtual environment 'DataProcessingVenv'
I opened this venv in Terminal in VSCode and installed Pandas
I did pip install Jupyter
I did pip install ipykernel
next did ipython kernel install --user --name=DataProcessingVenv
In VSCode I created new notebook
pressed Ctrl+Shift+P and selected interpreter as /DataProcessingVenv/Scripts/Python.exe
Now I am trying to read a csv present in same fodler where notebook is present but somehow it is not working. I really don't know what is wrong and where, even don't know if I have provided all required info to solve the issue. Please guide me it some more info is required or if I can do something to solve the issue. I am attaching the current image in VSCode with error at the end.
So at the end the solution was simple. But it took time to learn. I just had to run all previous cells in Jupyter to make the current cell work.
I just installed Anaconda3-2019-10 on my MacBook.
I tried to make sure that my previous Python 3 version was totally uninstalled / removed from my system. Typing python3to the terminal didn´t work anymore.
After installing Anaconda and PyCharm (pycharm-community-anaconda-2019.3.3) I started a new Project to test everything. For that I selected to create a new Conda environment:
After I created the process I checked the Preferences and the "Project Interpreter". This is what I found:
I expected to find two interpreters 1.) my 3.7 Python version and 2.) the Conda environment just created.
Does finding 3 versions mean that I didn´t correctly deinstall Python3 before installing anaconda or is there anything that I don´t understand here?
Do I need both versions?
If not is there a safe way to remove one of them?
For removing Python3 from my system I did almost everythin suggested in numerous posts in Stackoverflow.
Upon creating a venv(virtual environment) you no longer need to worry about the existing interpreter. https://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/venv.html this might be of help.
I have started learning python and in the initial stage i am not be able to execute any code on python. While searching over the google, i found that it occurs due to kernel error and same is reflecting on the top and trust box is disabled. I have re-installed the software 2/3 times and Anti Virus program was also disabled until software gets installed properly on system. But it didn't work. I am attaching the screen shot for your reference.
I am totally new in the programming end and hence if you could explain me what exactly needs to be install step by step it would be helpful to make things done easily. There are many posts wherein answers are mentioned, but i didn't understand how those code to be executed.
Please try out by creating a new conda environment.
Create conda environment using the command :
conda create -n <env_name> -c intel python=3.6
Activate the environmemt using the command :
source activate <env_name>
Please install the required packages in this environment.
Kindly install the ipykernal using the command:
conda install ipykernel
ipython kernel install --name <env_name> --user
Select the installed ipykernal from your jupyter notebook.
Hope this helps.

I have recently set up the latest version of anaconda and when I open my anaconda command prompt an error message occurs.
Due to this issue, I am also not able to set up venv in my anaconda.
I have tried to search that conda-645.tmp but I haven't found that in that particular location as well.
Access is denied. The system cannot find the file C:\Users\UDIT. Could
Not Find C:\Users\UDIT DEO\AppData\Local\Temp\conda-645.tmp
Try running it as administrator.
This should solve this error.
I have python 3.6 installed, I have a python extension installed on Visual Studio code but I still can't use pip on Visual Studio code. It says it is not a recognised command. Any help please?
Update: I tried installing pip manually but a file in python2.7 keeps stopping. What's bothersome is that I uninstalled python 2.7 ages ago and I've currently removed every folder with it but python-V still says I have python2.7.6 installed.
I'm on windows 10
I found some solution on this website:
https://pip.pypa.io/en/stable/installing/
If you use Visual Studio Code, you can type the following command:
C:\> py -m pip
If everything is alright, you should see the list of commands, which you can use. They are listed in your terminal, as per below.
I also would advise you to check/select the version of Python you are using:
VSCode: There is no Pip installer available in the selected environment
I am pretty sure your problems of VSCode not finding the correct version of Python will be resolved if you add your ( Python 3.6 installation ) location to the system path.
