I have a problem when using Having clause and got an error where it said:
group function is nested too deeply
Basically I am trying to use CASE WHEN inside Having clause and there are multiple CASE WHEN inside the CASE WHEN again.
Having(SUM(CASE WHEN OUTLET_ACCOUNT_GROUP IN('7-Eleven','99 Speedmart','KK Mart','MyNews.Com')
THEN SUM(NVL(MAVEN_SALES,0))>=0.02
ELSE
SUM(CASE WHEN NVL(TURIN_SALES,0)<0 AND NVL(MAVEN_SALES,0)>0 THEN
CASE WHEN NVL(MAVEN_SALES,0)>(NVL(TURIN_SALES,0)*-1) THEN
NVL(MAVEN_SALES,0)+ NVL(TURIN_SALES,0)
ELSE
0
END
WHEN NVL(MAVEN_SALES,0)<0 THEN 0 ELSE NVL(MAVEN_SALES,0)
END ) >=0.02 )

How to convert this SQL query to an Excel formula?
CASE
WHEN UPPER(V_out) = 'GOOGLE' OR (UPPER(V_out) = 'APPLE' AND dis > 800)
THEN 2
ELSE
CASE
WHEN UPPER(V_out) IN ('APPLE', 'MOZILLA', 'SAMSUNG') OR UPPER(V_out) IS NULL
THEN 0
ELSE -2
END
END
So far I have tried this:
=IF(AND(CU2>800;OR(UPPER(LS2)="GOOGLE";UPPER(LS2)="APPLE"));2;IF(OR(MATCH(UPPER(LS2);{"APPLE";"MOZILLA";"SAMSUNG"};0);UPPER(LS2)=0);0)-2)
And it doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas where I made a mistake?
Thanks!
The MATCH needs a ISNUMBER(...) wrapper:
ISNUMBER(MATCH(UPPER(LS2);{"APPLE";"MOZILLA";"SAMSUNG"};0))
That way it returns a TRUE/FALSE and not a number or error.
and UPPER(LS2)=0 just needs to be LS2=""
and AND(CU2>800;OR(UPPER(LS2)="GOOGLE";UPPER(LS2)="APPLE")) does not quite match the case statement:
OR(UPPER(LS2)="GOOGLE";AND(UPPER(LS2)="APPLE";CU2>800))
is more like the case statement.
The -2 is in the wrong place.
=IF(OR(UPPER(LS2)="GOOGLE";AND(UPPER(LS2)="APPLE";CU2>800));2;IF(OR(ISNUMBER(MATCH(UPPER(LS2);{"APPLE";"MOZILLA";"SAMSUNG"};0));LS2="");0;-2))
I am trying to write a "case" statement inside a "where clause" which has an "in" statement in the "then" part. Basically, the following code is what I want, but it's not the Oracle correct syntax. Does anybody have any idea what the correct syntax should be like?
create or replace PROCEDURE "Test"
(
Type in number
)
as
begin
select Id, Name, AccCode from myTable
where case Type
when 0 then AccCode in (130,131)
when 1 then AccCode in (230,231);
end;
I don't think you want a case statement. You probably just want
where (accCode in (130,131) and type = 1)
or (accCode in (230,231) and type = 0)
If you really want to use a case statement, you could say
where (case when accCode in (130,131) then 1
when accCode in (230,231) then 0
else null
end) = type
But that will not be as readable nor will it be as easy for the optimizer to find a good execution plan.
I have a multi-layered CASE statement, and one of the conditions needs to reference a table via a "not exists". I keep getting the error about 'correlated subqueries not allowed". How can I reference a table along with a condition inside a CASE statement? Below is a portion of my code:
WHEN ...... previous condition
WHEN ( CCOB_CLIENT_LOB_ID = 2 AND OI_CARRIER_LOB_ID IN (1,2,12,13) )
and not exists ( select S.STATE
FROM CCOB_PACIFICSOURCE.V_SELFPAY_COB_STATES S
WHERE S.STATE = SELFPAY_COB_STATE ) then 'NONE'
WHEN .... subsequent condition
The short answer is: you cann’t.
The longer answer is that you have to rewrite the query to outer join the table you give the alias S.
Then it’s quite possible to test for NULL.
Watch out for dublicates on the S.state column though :)
I currently have two separate saved search columns for these two statements, and I'm hoping to combine them and list the data in just one column. I've tried OR AND, but the results then error out.
First Statement
Case when {item.custitem54} is null then {quantity} else null end
Second Statement
Case when {item.custitem54} = 'Yes' and {shipdate} between to_date('05/25/2020', 'MM/DD/YYYY') and to_date('12/25/2020', 'MM/DD/YYYY') then {quantity} else null end
You can have multiple WHEN in a case statement. The first matched WHEN determines the result unless it gets to the ELSE.
Case when {item.custitem54} = 'Yes'
and {shipdate} between date '2020-05-25' and date '2020-12-25' then {quantity}
when {item.custitem54} is null then {quantity}
else null
end
I was looking into the function Contains but it can only be used in the Where predicate, what I'm looking for is something of the sorts
Select doc.* , IsSync = StringContains('Sync', doc.Url) from vw_Doc as doc
IsSync now would contain 1/0 or true/false, depending if the word Sync exists in the document Url.
Is this at all possible ?
Thank you for your time
Edit: StringContains is meant as a pseudo-function, it's not valid syntax
I would use case and charindex().
select
doc.* ,
case
when charindex('Sync', doc.Url) > 0
then 1
else 0
end as IsSync
from
vw_Doc as doc
Contains is not limited to a where clause, it returns a boolean that can be used in various contexts, e.g.:
select *,
case when Contains( doc.url, 'Sync' ) then 1 else 0 end as IsSync
from vw_Doc;
