I am playing with the ELK module and other "beats". I realized there are cool default dashboards for Metricbeats and Heartbeat. But I couldn't find anything about logstash.
So I was wondering: Is there an example of a dashboard for Logstash in Kibana?
Logstash actually doesn't have any dashboard with it. It doest work as Heartbeat or Metricbeats on one task.
Logstash just powerful instrument to capture and modify data on the fly. It has many different plug-ins for it and can be used regardless elastic for example to capture data, parce it, create fields from raw data and send it to back-end which could be elastic, hive, sql or just e-mail.
So it doesn't, but you can create your own dashboard from data which coming from logstash

I have 20 windows servers build with application on glassfish which generate logs everyday, so to manage these log in case i need to find something specific from all my servers im trying to group all these data on a single server (windows or linux) and filter them according to my specs.

I'm coding an application via nodejs that parses APIs to collect data and organize it. However, the need for systematic logging and display of differential logs has risen. The application needs to show users what changed with each consecutive state changes or within a specified time span. Is there any existing tool that would help me achieve that?
I am new to Elasticsearch and also confused how do I actually start implementing it. I have developed an office management software where on a daily basis tasks and other information based to that task belonging to a specific clients are stored. I have written API's in nodejs and the front-end in vuejs and MySQL db is used. So I want to implement a search functionality using Elasticsearch wherein user can search the tasks with any parameters they would like to.
Listed below are some of my questions
Now do Elasticsearch will work as an another db. If so, then how do I keep the record updated in Elasticsearch db as well.
Would it effect the efficiency in any way.
Also what is kibana and logstash in simple terms.
Is implementing Elasticsearch on client side is a good idea? Is Yes, then how can I implement Elasticsearch and kibana using vuejs?
I am confused with all the above things, can anyone kindly share their knowledge on the above listed questions and also tell which articles/docs/videos should I refer for implementing Elasticsearch in the best possible way?
Elasticsearch
It is a data store, all the JSON data will(Single Record/Row) be stored in indexes(Tables)
Update the records in elasticsearch using your backend only, even though we have packages available to connect the frontend to Elasticsearch.
Efficiency, nothing gets affected except the new stack in your application.
Implementing elasticsearch on the client-side is not a recommended option, Same code same API can be used till your MySQL DB connection, add a function to save update any data along with MySQL save call.

Till here there is no code change needed to save/update/delete/getByPrimaryID/GetByParamSearch,
For `getByPrimaryID/GetByParamSearch` search, you have to create a different API either to elasticsearch to MySQL but not both.
Kibana
GUI for your Elasticsearch - Look at it like dbForge Studio, MySQL Workbench, phpMyAdmin
Other than GUI it has a lot of other functionalities like cluster monitoring, all the elastic stack monitoring, analytics, and so on.
Logstash
It ships many files and save it into elasticsearch index, this is not needed until u need it for use cases like
application-prod.log to searchable index

I need to find some open source log management system for central log. The log format is unstructured on multiple host and I need to collect and send these log on central log system. The best way is to use some kind of "tail" these logs and send to central log system.
Do you know any solution that can tail some file and send to remote central log system?
Take a look at the ELK-Stack or Graylog both satisfy your requirements. In both solutions you can use logstash or an other tool like filebeat or the graylog collector sidecar for log shipping. A pricey solution would be Splunk.
I personally recommend Graylog, because it has a lot of open source features like authentication and authorization for example out of the box which ELK does not have. There you have to pay for those features.
I am a beginner to logstash. I have a setup wherein I run masterless puppet. Each puppet agent on each node generates reports in YAML format.
I want to be able to use a centralized reporting and alerting (using Nagios and logstash filter) - does logstash accept YAML format logs? Has anyone explored using logstash for puppet reports?

As for reporting, I do not know much about Nagios, but for Logstash, I am currently looking into the same integration for our systems. There is a Puppetmodule made by the Logstash team: Search github for "puppet-logstash-reporter" by "Logstash" (Can't post more than 2 links yet). This uses the TCP input method for Logstash.
For Nagios, a plugin has been mentioned on a Twitter feed about the same question (https://twitter.com/mitchellh/status/281934743887564800). I haven't used it so cannot comment on it.
Finally, I do not believe Logstash understands YAML, I am sure you can filter it with a Grok filter, but it would be easier to use the JSON reading ability if reading from a file described in the "inputs" section of the logstash docs. (Would link but restricted at the moment).
