I am new in Android Development. In the latest version of Android Studio I want to use Material Components for my app. But after implementing its gradle script my Android Studio Designer Preview went black/blank. As you can see in screenshot below.
I have implemented the following line in my build.gradle
implementation 'com.google.android.material:material:1.4.0'
After removing the material components library the preview looks as it should.
I have also tried to restart Android studio as well as my computer.
I just realised that I have used
implementation 'com.google.android.material:material:1.4.0'
instead of
implementation 'com.google.android.material:material:1.4.0-rc01'
Now the issue has been fixed.
Currently, I have IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate installed. I want to develop an Android app. Do I need to install Android Studio?
No. Android Studio is focused specifically on Android development and
provides streamlined environment and project setup, but otherwise all
of its features are available in IntelliJ IDEA.

Android Studio and IntelliJ changes for Android related functionality are kept in sync (both ways). Android Studio is free but has only a subset of functionality of IntelliJ.
Windows 10, Android Studio 2.3.3
When in my project no import some classes, the Android Studio not offer import options. Also in show errors only "Messages" window. But not show red line under incorrect text. Also not work "Go to declaration".
I invalidate cache and restart but it not help.
I am currently using some libraries (e.b. material design lib) to create apps.
I want to set the minimum SDK to 5.0, but it cannot be done because the version of that library is higher.
My question is how can I know the list of installed/non-installed dependencies(e.g. com.android.support:design) provided by Google in android studio(like SDK manager) or not?
Honestly, I was using the Eclipse IDE for developing android apps, and now I switch to Android Studio. It is difficult to me to use Android Studio. Is there any resources to learn more detailed about the usage of Android Studio?

At first make sure in the left panel Project is selected.
Then right-click on your appropriate project name and select Open Module Settings
There you will see the Dependencies tab that you were searching for. There you will explore the options to add or remove dependencies or shifting them up or down in the easiest way. Hope you will find Android Studio more interesting then Eclipse gradually.

The official android developer site of Google is well enough to learn Android Studio in details. Everything is there. Still you can also go for tutorialspoint tutorial about Android Studio.

What is difference between open and import a project in android studio? Is there a way that we can do import of a project from command line or do all settings that is done while importing a project?
OPEN is to open existing projects which already have been run in Android Studio.
IMPORT is for migrating projects from other environments to Android Studio, for more information take a look on this: Migrating to Android Studio
