I have a MacOS Host and I just used the Win7 Image for Virtualbox from Modern.ie and installed it.
The audio stutters and it's very unpleasant to view any media. How can I fix it?
Select ICH AC97 as Audio controller and download the Realtek driver from this page

I want to use latest Mendel OS for coral dev board mini. I checked the coral website but they didn't provide any way for windows (Just Linux and Macs). Do someone know how can I do this on windows? I tried with wls but it does not (Couldn't find device)
I tried first method for linux (Windows Linux System) but it does not work. I want to flash my board to new Mendel OS
I've got a new Dell Inspiron 17 (7779) laptop with Windows 10 x64 (1703) which was working fine right up until the point where HyperV was installed. Now the host screen flickers like mad even with no Guest VM's created.
Dell are being particularly unhelpful, so I was wondering is anyone else was having the same issue.
Basically is anyone running Hyper V on a dell Inspiron successfully.
I guess it could also be a clash with the display drivers (Intel HD Graphics 620, driver ver 21.20.16.4627)
OK, I think I've resolved this with the latest Intel graphics drivers 21.20.16.4678, however there were a few issues...
So the Intel drivers (21.20.16.4627) installed on the machine were the ones installed via the Dell Driver Detect tool, if you just download the latest drivers from intel and install them, it wont update them....I think there is some versioning issue with the dell drivers, as it seems to think the existing drivers are newer than the ones your trying to install....
In order to make it accept the new drivers you need to uninstall the existing display driver AND delete the install files. Then after a re-boot the display drivers used should be the default Microsoft ones, you can then upgrade the driver (again via computer manager) selecting the location of the downloaded and unzipped intel drivers.
I'd like to be able to thank Dell for there help, but they failed miserably to provide any.
One last thing...
For some reason windows automatically 'upgrade' the display drivers and re-installed a old version (21.20.16.4627) replacing the latest drivers I installed. I then had to rollback the automatic update, which fixed the issue again. Hopefully I won't have to keep doing this...
It looks like someone has made a mess of versioning some of these updates, its difficult to tell whether its an issue with the Intel drivers or the Dell wrapping of them as part of the driver detect tool, but there's definitely an issue.
As the title reads: I have a Windows 10 Home edition host running an Ubuntu 16.04 guest OS on VMWare version 10.0.0.
I am developing an application which requires the use of a web cam, so I bought a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 to serve my purpose, and that's where the problem began. The cam flickers when I connect it to Ubuntu:
The flickering is dynamic, even when the cam is is at rest
I have researched allot on the matter and I can't seem to find a working solution to my problem.
I'm doubting that VMWare is the source of the problem since I've tried connecting other cameras where 2 of them worked when I connected another cam to Ubuntu, but they even flickered, one of them was flickering only green.
After allot of troubleshooting, it turned out to be a VMWare related problem. Upgraded VMWare to version 12.5.5 and that seemed to have fixed the problem in this particular situation.
I'm on Xubuntu running with VMWare on Windows 7. I'm developing an android app' and use genymotion to run virtual android device. But from few days, when I try to run my virtual device genymotion show me this error :
(translated from French)
Impossible to run the Genymotion virtual terminal.
The Genymotion virtual terminal haven't obtained IP address.
For an unknown reason, the VirtualBox's DHCP server haven't assigned IP address to the virtual terminal. Please run VirtualBox to find a solution for the issue.

So, I followed the link and see that I should have the same IP address for the adapter and the DHCP server and explain how to modify. I change the IP of the DHCP server to be the same as the adapter. But looks like it doesn't fix the issue because the same message appear after the modification.
A friend of mine told me to download the latest version of Genymotion. I did but there's still the same issue.
For the reason why I'm on such virtual device is because I had lot of problem have a stable installation with dual boot windows/linux so I choose a virtualisation of linux instead. And I can't work on windows because it's a team work and work on windows have some conflict with work on linux.
I hope I've been understandable and excuse me for the language fault.
EDIT :
I've try creating a new virtualisation of Xubuntu and install genymotion to see if it was an update I mad or an other mistake I could have done that broke genymotion.
But the same problem appear. I think the problem come from the double virtualisation but I don't know how to fix it.
Actually I just found what my problem was (or look's like). In the settings of the virtual device, in the CD/DVD (SATA) section I choose "use ISO image file" instead of "use physical drive".
I don't know why the issue was related with the CD/DVD. But now I can run the genymotion virtual device. It's slow as hell but it work.
I also found a way to run Android Emulator on MAC (running with VMWare on Windows):
First open VirtualBox and start your Android device. Then start the same device in Genymotion.
To have a relative smooth reaction time - set video memory to 128MB and Motherboard memory to 1024MB in VirtualBox.
You cannot really do virtualisation from a virtualized guest.
You must install Genymotion on the host OS.
You can see an entry on this subject on the Genymotion FAQ here: https://cloud.genymotion.com/page/faq/#genymotion-from-virtualized-host
To run the android apps on genymotion or your device from vm, you can follow these instructions:
Install genymotion on your local os
Install arm translation app on your genymotion
Reboot genymotion
Install google play service on genymotion
Reboot again
Download & install adb wireless app from play store on genymotion
Run adb wireless then get allocated ip address that generated by
this app
Run this command on vm
adb connect <IpAddressGeneratedByAdbWireless>
enjoy!
I am using linux 10.04(32 bit) on VMWare. In this vm I have installed Eclipse and running an Android emulator. Sound normally works on the VM but as soon as I start the Android Emulator sound is disconnected, whit this error msg,
The default sound device cannot be opened:
A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system.
Failed to connect virtual device sound.
Can any one please tell how to enable sound while the emulator is running?
I started the emulator on a different port using the -port command still no luck. Any ideas?
This issue was solved after installing skype in to the vm!
