I have SSIS package that imports excel data . When I ran the package locally it works but when I deploy it to server I get the following error.
''The requested OLE DB provider Microsoft OLEDB.4.0 is not registered. If the 64 bit driver is not installed run the package in 32 bit mode .''
To solve the problem , I have installed a 64 bit driver access database Engin. I have also changed run 64 bit to false under solution property.
does anyone has a suggestions?
Run64BitRuntime(Default true) under project property is a Visual Studio environment setting, and doesn't apply to packages run outside of BIDS.
If at all you need to run the package with 32 bits outside BIDS, then enable 32 bit runtime under SQL server jobs -> General tab

How could I read an Excel file with SSDT-Visual Studio 2019 under Windows Server 2016 64-bit ?
I see there are a lot of blogs describing similar issue but I'm still not able to solve my problem.
I would like to read an Excel file within my Visual Studio 2019 (SSDT Toolbox) under our Windows Server 2016 64-bit.
At first attempt (during the development) I got this error message "The requested OLE DB provider Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.16.0 is not registered. If the 32-bit driver is not installed, run the package in 64-bit mode."
Ok, I understand VS 2019 is a 32-bit app so it, by default, tries to use 32-bit driver.
Through multiple tests I tried the actions below but none of them have solved the issue :
set the Run64BitRunTime as True
set the "Processor Architecture for AnyCPU Projects" as x64
It seems modifying those settings would apply only at RunTime level i.e at the compiled version of the package, not during the development.
When I use SQL Server Import and Export Data Wizard 64-bit (and save the SSIS Package) it do works BUT it does not help reaching 100% of my goal. The reason I use SSIS is to do complex ETL , not only reading an Excel file. Reading such file is only a small part of the process (otherwise SSIS would be quite underutilized)
The biggest constraints I currently have are:
As per company restrictions, we could not install 32-bit driver on that machine
I know Visual Studio 2022 would be 64-bit but unfortunately, at this time (October 2022), it does not have SSIS module yet
Could anyone help me to solve this?
Any helps or tips would be appreciated.
My environment:
Windows Server 2016 64-bit
SQL Server 2019 with SSIS module installed
Visual Studio 2019 with SSDT module installed
I am trying to create a DSN but I can't do it. The processes I am applying these are as follows:
1. Oracle 12c (64bit) Installed in Remote PC
2. Using Oracle 12c Client on Windows 7 64 bit
3. Trying to Create DSN from Syswow64/odbcad32.exe becuase I want to use this DSN from my Excel 2013 VBA program and the office is 32 bit.
3. After pressing the Add button on the Microsoft ODBC Administrator from Syswow64/odbcad32.exe, I don't find the
Oracle In OracleClient12Home2 in the driver list.
Please suggest me what should I do in this regard.
I have solved this. Basically due to security reason, my registry was not configured properly at the time of installation. I have removed my previous installation and Set new ORACLE_HOME and run install As Run As Administrator. After that the problem is solved.
I am developing an SSIS package in VS 2012 that is being deployed to SQL Server 2012. The package is pulling data from an external database with a 32 bit driver and loading it into SQL Server 2012. I have the package set up so that it is using project parameters to store the connection strings.
I can run the package from VS and I can also run the package via 32 bit dtexec. I cannot run the package from the SQL agent. I have the job set up so that it is using a ssis proxy account.
I have also tried to run a package with an execute process task that runs the package in 32 bit dtexec.
I get the following error in all cases. It seems to be either a 32/64 bit issue or a permissions issue although I cannot figure out what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Data Flow Task:Error: The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager MyDataBaseConMgr failed with error code 0xC0014009. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
Unlike SSDT, SQL Server agent runs on 64 bit mode. You can configure SQL job to run on 32 bit mode by traversing to
Steps > Edit > Configuration > Advance
I have researched this thoroughly but I've yet to find a satisfactory answer.
I am using SQL Server Data Tools 2010 and Microsoft Office 2013 64-bit. I know that there is a compatibility problem and I am trying to solve it because I know for a fact that you can use an .xlsx file as a data source in a Data Flow.
First I tried setting Run64BitRuntime to False in Project -> Properties -> Configuration Properties - > Debugging but it didn't work
Whenever I try importing an .xlsx file I get the same error
Microsoft Visual Studio
------------------------------
Could not retrieve the table information for the connection manager
'Source Path'. Failed to connect to the source using the connection
manager 'Source Path'
------------------------------
So I tried downloading the "Microsoft Access database engine 2010" as so many suggested. The 64-bit installed successfully but the 32-bit returned the following error
You cannot install the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access database engine 2010
because you currently have 64-bit Office products installed.
Now I know I am missing a step here cause while I can see "Microsoft Access database engine 2010" in the list of installed programs in control panel it does not show up as an option in the Provider list when I am trying to create a new Connection Manager.
So before I result following the instruction on this blog I would like to ensure there is no easier way of solving the problem
Thank you in advance for you time.
If you're machine is x64, forget about Excel, as there is no driver available.
Just convert the file to CSV and use a Flat File Connector instead.
Ok, the answer was so ridiculously easy that I kind of feel ashamed for this post now.
If you are using Microsoft Office 2013 64-bit and want to work with SSIS you have to download and install the 32-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable, not the 64-bit, set Run64BitRuntime to False and everything will work like a charm.
I am using Visual Studio 2012. I installed Oracle 64bit Client. My Operating system is Win7 64 bit. I want add a new Oracle DB connection but when I enter username password etc. and click 'Test Connection' button, I see this error:
attempt to load oracle client libraries threw badimageformatexception
This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit
Oracle client components installed.
But my Oracle Client is 64 bit. There is no any 32 bit component on my system.
I am also having problem on Oracle.DataAccess.dll added to my references. I tried EVERY COMBINATION which is Any CPU, x86i x64 platforms but nothing has changed. Everytime I get BadImageFormatException.
I searched for another questions but nothing has changed. I also tried IIS App Pool Enable 32bit applications property to True but it doesnt work.
Any suggestions? What else I can try?
