Can someone tell me if Origen is supported on the Windows platform?
If it is, is there a guide for the installation process?
If not, are there any plans to support it in the future.
Thanks,
Priyavadan
Yes Origen is supported on Windows, but at present most of the user base is on Linux.
There is a Windows installation guide here, though it has a tendency to go out of date due to it being used less often than its Linux counterpart.
Please raise a ticket on Github if you end up here because of it not working: https://github.com/Origen-SDK/origen/issues

I have searched high and low for installers to customize after creating my applications (small, medium, and much bigger) in size. Yes, portable apps great but most people just want to install and also have it just update when updates are available and install and restart the next time or at least warn the user to save the work before the Application can reopen.
Yes, I have looked at NSIS and other installers, but they are merely for windows and not for both windows and Linux. Some of these installer projects have been discontinued. Most people who use Linux don't like to always build from the source.
I was wondering how I can create a POSIX compliant installer that my software can install on both Windows and Linux. What are the steps involved? I assume most or all installers use C++ to do all of the grunt work. I am interested in creating my own to fully understand C++ and how it works. This why I really need to know how an installer is made. Any helpful advice is welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
"Mainstream": A shared packaging format seems elusive. However, there are a few multi-platform deployment tools available. Installsite.org has a list towards the bottom here. I guess the two most commonly used tools are (both are commercial):
Advanced Installer for Java / Advanced Installer Enterprise (Windows and Mac, no Linux)
Flexera InstallAnywhere (Windows, Mac, Linux)
From this answer:
Can checkov-satic code analysis for infrastructure as a tool can be installed or not?
I checked the documentation. It has mentioned the steps for Unix, but not for windows
you should be able to install it on windows or use the docker packing to gain similar results.

Very Silly question. can someone quickly share me the Azure download link for 32-bit OS version from microsoft?

But instead of manually downloading, it is recommended you use the automated one-click install provided by the Web Platform Installer (x86 version here).
I don't think you will find that. I don't know if SDK exists, however Azure doesn't run 32 bit operating systems anyway for obvious reasons. Only 64bit operating systems are supported.
my question is pretty simple so here it is:
Using InstallShield, whatever version, is there anyway to specify a Service Pack as a System Hardware Requirements?
I can specify Windows 7, so that my installation will not even be launched if the OS is prior to Win7 but I also want to specify a minimal service pack, which seems to be simply impossible to do.
Another... hum inconsistency, is that I can set a certain OS AND service pack requirements for a specific prerequisite but all it does is remove the prerequisite from the installation if its requirements are not met but it won't cancel the installation itself, even if the prerequisite is mandatory... sigh /rant :P
Anyways, if anyone has an idea how to do that with InstallShield, that would be great.
Thanks in advance!

My client using webobjects 4.5(one of the last versions that supports Objective-C) on backend. And I need to develop using this framework.
Problem is that I'm using Ubuntu linux
I've tried to found how I can install framework on my OS, but found only WO 5.4
What can you advise? How I can install WO 4.5 On ubuntu?
P.S. Found GnuStep project. Is it fully compatible alternative to WO 4.5?
I have no experience with any of these frameworks; but it appears there are at least two that are meant to be WebObjects 4.5-compatible (with extensions of their own): GNUstepWeb and SOPE.
GNUstepWeb is part of GNUstep, but GNUstep on the whole is more analogous to Cocoa, not just WebObjects. I am skeptical that there is anything "fully compatible", but these two might be worth checking out.
Since the Objective C runtime has never been ported to Ubuntu, and there is no reason for Apple to ever do this, one cannot run WO 4.5 on a Linux distro. I think it actually was shipped to also run on Windows NT and on HP/UX and Solaris, but these probably will not help you either.
I am not sure if you can use the GnuStep code for any commercial work. I would be surprised if any lawyer would ever sign off on its use. But YMMV.
Sorry, but there does not seem to be any good news for you.
