Unable to install Application Insights in Azure - azure-web-app-service

I am unable to install Application Insights to my Azure Web App.
All I'm getting in Azure is the following error message.
Could not install extension.
I don't have Azure Technical Support.
Is there something I need to do with my code to make it work, or is this a product issue with Application Insights in Azure?

According to your description, I have created a test web app and installed the Application Insights extension. It works well.
I suggest you firstly created a new web app(or scale up and down the service plan) and install the Application Insights extension again.
Here are two way to install the extension.
1.Use web app portal.
2.Use KUDU tool
Open the extension and install the Application Insights

.Net 5 Azure App service missing dependencies

I've deployed my code to an app service using Azure Devops CI release agent. Once I browse to the App service, it shows this error, stating that .net 5 isn't installed, and lists what is.
'The specified version of Microsoft.NetCore.App or Microsoft.AspNetCore.App was not found.'
This is what I have selected in the app service configuration, as it looks to be the only .Net 5 option.
Based on my test, the Azure App Service could support the .Net 5.
From the error message, it is indeed show that .net 5 hasn't been installed in the app service.
I could reproduce this issue too.
But when I select the .Net5 (Early Access) in Configuration and Save it, it will update the web app settings. Then the website could run successfully.
From your screenshot, you already selected this option. You could try to restart the App service and check if it could work.
On the other hand, you could try to create a new App Service with .Net5 (Early Access). Then you could directly use the App service with .Net 5.
Here is a ticket with the detailed introduction, you could refer to it.

Web2py project deployment on Azure app service

I am currently using PythonAnywhere to deploy my web2py project, it is working fine for me.
Now I want to deploy my web2py application on azure App service. I followed all the steps mentioned in below Goggle group
Creating web apps with Web2py in Azure Web Apps
Still I can see default page of azure python web app. I also tried to do it with same code base mentioned in given git repository.
I am unable to figure out which document I should refer or what are the right steps to deploy web2py project to Azure web app service.
Below are the steps I followed to deploy web2py project to Azure app service
Created Azure app service with P1V2 app service plan. Linux machine with python 3.6 default language
Selected local git repository in deployment center and pushed code to azure git repository. It shows deployment successful message
Browse azure website, but this time it is not showing expected landing page. It is showing me default app page of azure website
I tried steps 3-4 times but everytime I am getting same result. Am I missing something here?
I reviewed the forum thread Creating web apps with Web2py in Azure Web Apps of Google Groups as you mentioned, I see there is a file named web.config in its attachments, as the figure below.
However, the discussion is too old at 2015-11-13. At that time, Azure only supports Windows for Azure App Services, but you were trying to reproduce it on Azure WebApp for Linux based on Docker, because P1V2 Sku is for Linux and Standard S1 for Windows, as the figures below.
P1V2 Sku of Azure App Service Plan for Windows
Standard S1 Sku of Azure App Service Plan for Windows
So if you want to reproduce the same application of the thread of Google Groups on Azure WebApp for Windows, please try to refer to my answer for the other SO thread No pip or python module inside azure webapp. There is not any Azure offical document introduce how to deploy a Python application on Azure Windows WebApp.
Otherwise, please refer to the two Azure offical documents Quickstart: Create a Python app in Azure App Service on Linux and Configure a Linux Python app for Azure App Service to try to change and deploy it on Azure Webapp for Linux. Even that you need to follow the document Configure a custom Linux container for Azure App Service to create a custom docker image for deployment.

how to install azure cli on azure web app

I have been using azure cli installed on windows 7 locally. I want to use it on azure web app as well. But I did not find any relevant article to accomplish it. Could anyone let me know how to install az-cli on azure web app windows instance.
Thanks
If you want to create resources from your code you should use the Azure REST API:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/azure/
It also has client libraries, you can read more about it on the link.

How to create startup tasks (or install dependencies) in Azure Web App?

There is a Cloud Service in Azure classic deployment model. In the Cloud Service you can add web role and set up a startup tasks. If your application has any dependencies that require installation on the destination VM or controll over IIS-related settings, you can use a startup tasks to provide an unattended deployment for this configuration. For example, if you need installed software on the backend side, you can run MSI in startup task to install it.
Unfortunately, I can't find this functionality in new Azure Resource Manager model. My Web App need some installed software on backend side, but I can't figure out how to install it. Could you help me with this?
You can't. Web App (or App Service) doesn't give you control over the underlying OS. You should consider containerizing your app and run it through using e. g. ACI or AKS.
A Cloud Service was nothing more than a VM with extended support in Visual Studio. Cloud Services are deprecated but you can still create a VM in Azure and install your dependencies.

How can a node.js app be deployed to azure via appveyor (pulled from github)?

I currently have a .net and an angular app, both deployed to azure via appveyor. Now I want to add a node.js app, also in a github repo, also to be deployed via appveyor and into azure.
However I have no idea where to start.
What kind of azure app should I create? Just the standard web app service?
How do I deploy this to azure via appveyor?
What kind of azure app should I create? Just the standard web app
service?
At first, I could share Azure App Service plan and when we selected one of them with you. Please refer to this document(https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/azure-web-sites-web-hosting-plans-in-depth-overview/ ). Then, for selecting which one service plan, it depended on the site load and requirements. It is not relation to deployment channel.
How do I deploy this to azure via appveyor?
You can try to follow this guide Deploying using Web Deploy, mark Package Web Applications for Web Deploy check box in the settings=>build tab of your project in appveyor.
Then login Azure Management Portal and download publish profile.Specify the following deployment settings in AppVeyor:
Server: https://<publishUrl>/msdeploy.axd?site=<msdeploySite>
Website name: <msdeploySite>
Username: <userName>
Password: <userPWD>
NTLM: disabled
Replace <publishUrl>, <msdeploySite>, <userName> and <userPWD> with values from downloaded publishing profile XML file, in the deployment tab.
