Iam trying to create a Ubuntu server lab using Azure Lab Services account and followed the below steps.
In , I have already enabled the Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS in Lab Services – Marketplace images.
In , enabled marketplace image is listed in lab setup page
In , Error: The gallery image 'ubuntu server 18_04 lts' must be enabled for programmatic access in this subscription.
Can anyone help me how to resolve this error - "The gallery image 'ubuntu server 18_04 lts' must be enabled for programmatic access in this subscription."
Also, there is no option like "Want to deploy programmatically?" on the Ubuntu marketplace image page, attached the screenshot below.
I checked myself and have the same problem with Ubuntu 18.04LTS and 16.04LTS. However it works with Ubuntu 19.04 or other Windows images, so it seems there are problems with those images in Azure
I'd suggest you raise a ticket from your subscription or contact them via twitter #AzureSupport. Meanwhile, You may use that Ubuntu 19.04 if it works as a workaround
You can try these links:
From portal (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/working-with-marketplace-images-on-azure-resource-manager/) you'd need to go to the image in marketplace and enable it for the subscription you're using looking for the "Want to deploy programmatically?" option (maybe you have more than one?)
From CLI or PowerShell you might try this: https://blog.turtlesystems.co.uk/2018/10/16/Enabling-Programmatic-Access-in-Azure/
Thanks again Bhanu for surfacing the issue. Our Internal product team was already working on fixing the issue.
The issue should be resolved now, you should be able to create the VM's in the lab with Ubuntu 18.04LTS/16.04LTS images.

Below is a quote from the above URL.
Is there a technical reason that windows is not supported?
Or will it eventually be supported? If yes, any idea when windows will be supported?
Multi-container groups are currently restricted to Linux containers. While we are working to bring all features to Windows containers, you can find current platform differences in Quotas and region availability for Azure Container Instances.
Multi-container group is currently restricted to Linux containers because network namespace is not available on Windows. Maybe it would be supported for windows in future.
You can get more details following this link.
Product team from ACI here - docs are correct that Windows containers do not support multi-container groups yet. We will update the documentation to be clearer about that.
We do plan to support multi-container groups for Windows though, currently estimated for support in late 2018 / early 2019. Stay tuned to Azure updates for the latest.
I have several IaaS Vms deployed with windows 2012 datacenter. Is it possible to upgrade to 2016 without re-creating VM?
Unfortunately, OS upgrades of Azure VMs are not supported by Microsoft.
Refer to this article,
Microsoft does not support an upgrade of the operating system of a Microsoft Azure virtual machine. Instead, you should create a new Azure virtual machine that is running the supported version of the operating system that is required and then migrate the workload.
Besides, this is the feedback of the similar issue of upgrades from 2012 R2 to 2016, you could vote it or post another specific ideal.
As part of our development process we are required to certify our drivers against the Microsoft HLK/HCK test suites. As our testing infrastructure exists in Azure, I need a method to enable secure boot via ARM template (or other method) on the Azure Marketplace based VMs.
I have scoured the interwebs for references to this process, but was unable to find anything.
Is there an option anywhere in the latest ARM versions that would allow me to secure boot enable my Server 2016-Datacenter Azure VMs?
https://argonsys.com/learn-microsoft-cloud/library/secure-boot-on-virtual-machines/
This could be enabled on the Guest OS level if the powershell run upon the Guest OS goes through. If not it could be within the ARM GitHub Schema prior to being documented. If not Microsoft may need to intervene on a low severity task.
I am new to Windows Azure platform and I am trying to set up Azure Load test. I have already set up Storage account, hosted service and Virtual Network. However, I cannot find Connect tab under Networks -> Virtual Network. The prerequites i.e. Windows Azure SDK and Windows Azure Tools for VS 2010 have been installed. My local machine OS is 64 bit Windows 7.
You must use the previous Management Portal to manage Connect VPNs. The new Management Portal cannot yet manage them. It's under "Virtual Network" tab in there. Also, this CTP must be enabled for your subscription(s) or it may not be present in the portal.
First of all Azure Connect is still in Preview and there is no significant improvements in this component for over a years so I would suggest not to use it.
If you really want to see Windows Azure Connect, it is only available in older portal so please go to older portal to see it.
