Scale svg without changing filter effects - svg

We need large screenshot of html which contains svg text with some effects. So we are zooming html in chrome and taking screenshots.
But svg filter effects get changed on html zooming. We need svg effects same in all scale.
Please refer attached screen shots.

feSpecularLighting is resolution dependent, you'd have to manipulate the kernelUnitLength property on each zoom step to cancel out the resolution dependency.

How can I place a geo-referenced SVG over an openlayers map (not as image)

How can I place a complex SVG image (with css-styles!) geo-referenced over an openlayers map so that the document's CSS styles are used with rendering the SVG.
A regular ImageLayer does a fine job of showing the georeferenced svg on the map as an image. But because it is an image, the CSS of the document has no effect on the rendered SVG
The SVG Layer example on the other hand places the SVG into the DOM and makes it react to the document's CSS and reacts when you change the CSS. But it always maps the SVG over the whole planet and seems to hide any layer I place under it.
To give you an idea of the use case: we have an externally generated SVG with several 'groups or layers' in it representing different aspects of infrastructure. This svg has to be put correctly over a map (like we can do with the imagelayer), but we want to be able to selectively show/hide the different 'groups or layers' that are within the SVG.
I guess in the end we would be needing something similar to ol/layer/Image/ImageLayer to happen in the SVG-layer example.
Any suggestions about how to approach this would be very welcome, but working code is also OK ;-)
In the example the image width is 360 degrees and the center is at [0, 0]. For a smaller extent you would need to use the appropriate width and adjust the center used in the transform https://codesandbox.io/s/lucid-poitras-i1qyb?file=/main.js Use an opacity setting to avoid completely hiding the base layer.

Image used as pattern in inline SVG has greenish tint

I have this inline SVG element. Some of its sub elements use image patterns. (In the attached photo, the SVG object is on the left and the image with correct color is on the right). A very strange greenish hue is affecting all image patterns and images in the SVG which have patches of white in the original images used. What could be the reason? I've already checked this both in Firefox and Chrome. Same problem shows in both browsers. I used SVG transforms (rotate, scale, translate) to manipulate the images but never a command to change the colors..
EDIT 2017-09-24 (screenshot in Safari) - Safari displays the correct color

IE10 does not scale background SVG correctly when zoomed (on Surface/Windows 8 phone)

Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? Internet Explorer 10 and Window phone 8 are not able to correctly scale background SVG images when a user zooms. Looks like IE rasterizes the SVG on load.
Here is an example: The first image is the SVG as a background image. Zoom in on a MS Surface or Windows 8 phone and you'll see it blurs horribly.
The second image is the same SVG as an img tag. Zoom this on a Surface or Windows 8 mobile phone and it scales as you would expect (nice and clean).
Is there any property that can be added to make IE10 behave? Or is it merely a case of waiting for the folks at Redmond to fix it?
The problem is that IE, and other browsers such as Firefox rasterise the SVG before displaying it, so it will become blocky when zoomed.
The easiest way to fix this is to make the SVG file larger than is needed. For example double the size, or more if the user is likely to zoom in further. You can then resize the SVG image with CSS to display it at the correct size. This way the image will be naturally larger, so wont become blocky, unless you zoom in even further. At default zoom level the image is scaled down rather than up, which browsers usually handle better.

How to Scale SVG rectagle to fit the svg text element

So here is the problem:
I am trying to create dynamic buttons that have text. The text will be generated dynamically so the svg object doesn't know the size of the text. There are two things that I am looking to do and I hope that SVG will do this
First I want the left and right edge of the svg element to stay the same even if I scale the element horizontally
The problem is that I have to set a width on the svg otherwise it doesn't show up when I display the page. Also on the Home and blog buttons you can see that the edge is compressed. I want the edge to stay the same no matter how much text is in the element.
Also I can't seem to set the scale or width properly even with a javascript .getComputedTextLength()
Any help or a point in the right direction would be very helpful
Buttons that are sized to their text content is functionality that can be adressed with Raphael's getBBox()
The use of this js library means that you are implicitly using SVG or VML and this functionality is more easily addressed by referencing this JavaScript library
To see the getBBox() function in action you could visit the Autobox example here:

Rollover overlays with SVG

i want to acheive the effect on this page using SVG. As you can see it uses a series of PNG transparent overlays when the user mouses over a polygonal hotspot drawn on a product.
What i want to achieve is the same thing with SVG, but without messing about with creating a load of PNGs, so that when the user mouses over an area the transparent shape (with link on it) appears over the top. The SVG shape would be built from a set of coordinates exactly as a polygonal hotspot would on an image map.
So i guess my first question is, can this be done with plain old SVG or do i need to use something like Raphael to achieve this? Never seen this effect before with SVG so if anyone has an example like that would be very useful.
Thanks in advance.
There are several ways to get this effect with plain old SVG. Probably the simplest is to use CSS within the SVG. For example:
<style>
.overlay:hover
{
opacity: 0.5;
}
</style>
<svg>
<a xlink:href="http://www.wherever/you/want/to/link/to.com">
<path class="overlay" d="Coordinates of your shape..." />
</a>
</svg>
I've written about various other methods at:
http://www.petercollingridge.co.uk/data-visualisation/mouseover-effects-svgs
Yes it can be done with SVG only, with or without javascript.
One way to get the effect would be to overlay a white semi-transparent path on top of the image that you want to whiten. Another way would be to use an SVG filter to process the image directly, similar to what I've done here or here to recolor a PNG (view page source and feel free to reuse that in any way you like).
You'll want to make use of the 'pointer-events' property most likely. Here's an example showing how to detect mouse-events on the fill and/or stroke of an svg shape, even if the shape is invisible.
