Background: Local/On-Premise Active Directory (2012) synced to Microsoft Azure Active Directory using Azure AD Connect.
Was setup for Office 365 to use existing On-Premise identity.
Office 365 Enterprise E3 is the O365 Business Plan we have, which includes Microsoft Azure AD as a IDaaS platform.
Microsoft Azure AD was not setup to be a management console for the O365 tenant, it has since been connected and now to manage the identity, the O365 console can obviously still manage the identity as well.
Right now we have a local domain controller which vast majority of computers authenticate with. If a computer (Windows 10) is removed from the domain and performs a "Join Azure AD" they can then login with their O365 credentials and no longer authenticates with local domain controller. Once this process is performed on users no one will authenticate with the local DC.
The AD/DC is still being synced with AAD/O365 for identity but it cannot be fully managed from AAD/O365 there are limitations such as contact information and username cannot be changed from the web consoles, they have to changed from the local/On-Premise AD Users and Computers. If one of the synced users/groups is viewed from the web consoles some of the attributes are greyed out and state, "This user is synchronized with your local Active Directory. Some details can be edited only through your local Active Directory." as it should.
Question:
I would like to know if it is possible to convert a locally synced user account to become Microsoft Azure Active Directory user Account? Meaning it would no longer sync to the local AD and could be deleted from the local AD is now fully managed from web consoles.
Food for thought, if the sync was broken between the local AD and AAD/O365 would the identity still be seen as a local active directory identity? As shown below, this image is from the users section of the Azure portal for AAD.

-If you want to test with SINGLE USER, you could remove the user to a Non-Synced OU in AD, which after the sync process would delete the user in cloud after which you could restore back - then it would show that user as Cloud User.
(Sometimes we would not be able to restore due to backend inconsistency for that user and please ensure litigation hold in mailbox is enabled/mailbox is backed up before moving the user to non-synced OU)

I was logged in to my AzureDevops account using my hotmail account.I then went to Organization Settings and then connected my Org to Azure AD.
After i logged out and logged in back again with the same account, i don't see anymore my projects which i was working on. I have disconnected my Azure AD and also tried switching directories but i am no longer able to see that particular organization anymore.
Any idea how to fix this or why this happened

You may not able to signin or access your organization unless your work or school account has the same email address as your Microsoft account.
Although you can add new work accounts to your organization, they're
treated as new users.
If you want to access all your work, including its history, you must
use the same sign-in addresses that you used before your organization
was connected to your Azure AD.
For that Add your Microsoft account as a member to your Azure AD Or
ask the owner of the organization who has proper permissions to map
any disconnected members to their Azure AD identities Or invite them
as guests into the Azure AD.
Invited user should use corresponding account, work/school account
for AAD based, personal account for the other.
So basically the user who makes the connection must confirm the following statements are true.
User exists in Azure AD as a member. If the user is an Azure AD guest, rather than member
User must have project collection administrator or owner of the organization
User must also have Azure Service Administrator or Coadministrator permissions for the Azure subscription that's linked to your organization in Azure DevOps.
User isn't using the Microsoft account identity that matches the Azure AD identity. For example, if the Microsoft account that users are currently using is jamalhartnett#fabrikam.com, the Azure AD identity they'll use after connecting is also jamalhartnett#fabrikam.com. Use a single identity that spans both applications, rather than two separate identities using the same email.
Add your work account as an administrator in your Azure DevOps organization
The AAD tenant should be same as the DevOps tenant to connect & Transfer the ownership of the organization to your work account.

My team already has a working Azure DevOps account. I would like to start an Azure subscription / Active Directory to begin linking our DevOps to App Services and other Azure products.
However, any time I click on a link to get started with Azure, I am met with a perplexing paradox trying to log in.
First I'm told that I can't log in because my MS account isn't found:
But if I try to "Create one!" or "get a new Microsoft account", I'm told it already exists:
I've taken out the email address being used, but I've confirmed they are the same between the two screens (I'm not even typing anything; all I'm doing is clicking "Next" on each screen).
I know that this MS account is valid. It's the same one I use to sign in with Azure DevOps and many other MS services. I'm not sure why I can't log in to the Azure set up platform. And there doesn't seem to be any kind of support options with Azure before you become a subscriber, so I thought I'd try my luck posting the issue here.

When your sign-in address is shared by your personal Microsoft account and by your work account or school account, but your selected identity doesn't have access, you can't sign in. Although both identities use the same sign-in address, they're separate: they have different profiles, security settings, and permissions.
Sign out completely from Azure DevOps by completing the following steps.
Closing your browser might not sign you out completely.

To connect your organization to Azure AD.

we installed azure ad connect on our on-premise ad. its synced now our whole ad into the azureAD.
Because we just starting the project we only have 5 people which got licence for office 365 and we want now only these 5 user in the Azure AD.
In Azure admin panel I cannot delete the user, because it says u can only delete on on-premise ad.
On the Azure ad connect client on the on-premise server I now configured it that it only sync the OU with the 5 User we want. But the other user are still in Azure AD.

It is not possible to delete the synced users in Azure Active Directory.
If you do not want to see those unwanted users in Azure Active Directory, you can stop synchronizing those users in Azure AD connect Server by filtering the objects.
If you want to remove the users completely then you need to go to your On-Premises Active Directory and you can delete those unwanted users except this 5 users.

Given situation
I have two Azure AD directories in one Azure portal tenant.
AD_1 - A directory that got automatically created when signed up for Azure cloud the first time
AD_2 - A directory that I have manually created for managing a different set of users.
I also have an office365 account, that got created using the same Azure account. In it first I purchased a subscription.
SUBSCRIPTION_1 - only office apps. The licenses are attached to users in AD_1
Later I purchased another subscription purely for non-office products for different set of users.
SUBSCRIPTION_2 - exchange, yammer etc apps - A new subscription.
Questions
Is it possible to associate SUBSCRIPTION_2 to only users in directory AD_2?
If above is YES, how to do?
Disclaimer: I am a noob to whole Azure AD, Office 365, for that matter Microsoft products. Please forgive my naivety.
No matter the originating subscription access to services or apps only depends on licenses. So just navigate to Office 365 Portal > Administration > Users > Active, there select a user and assign the appropriate license, no matter from which AD user comes from, in fact it is also possible to assign licenses to users created in a local AD that is synchronized to Azure AD (administration privileges are needed for this procedure)

Assume there also exists a separate Azure subscription that maintains it's own Active Directory, as well as an assortment of other resources such as SQL Databases, VMs, Virtual Networks, etc...
Can the two (the O365 instance and the Azure AD) use the same domain? Given it seems like Office 365 uses an Azure AD under the covers, my question is really just asking if two Azure Active Directories can use the same domain. Unfortunately, I can't find much online with regards to answers for this and I can't yet test it.
If you had two Active Directory tenants using the same example.com domain, and you logged into the portal with bob#example.com How would the portal know which tenant was responsible for bob?
An Azure Active Directory tenant much be authorative over the domains that are associated with it.
What you can do is associate the Office 365 Active Directory with an Azure subscription (or as many Azure Subscriptions as you have) and then you will have SSO across all of your subscriptions and Office 365.
This is probably the simplest guide on how to achieve that - it is for RemoteApp, but the underlying concept is the same.
Two Azure Active Directories cannot have same domain.
Technically O365 instance with a tenant name (.onmicrosoft.com) is an Azure AD. Office 365 is just a SaaS application attached to every Azure AD. Basically for Office 365, Identity Management backend is Azure AD. Basically if we have a domain abc.com added/verified in tenant A , it means that we can create users in tenant A with user#abc.com. If we were able to add the same domain in tenant B, which is not possible practically but if we consider theoretically, there would be a user user#abc.com in tenant B too! Hence its impossible to have same domain with two Azure AD.
If you have a domain abc.com under a tenant - contoso.onmicrosoft.com (does not matter whether its in Office 365). If we want to view this directory in azure portal (classic) and if you know the global administrator of this directory, we can add it to the Azure Classic portal (use custom directory) option (comes up for live account service admin).

Also, Office 365 subscription gives you benefit of free "Access to Azure Active
Directory" subscription to all office 365 Global administrators. This is given to effectively manage the users in office 365 via Azure AD as well (SSPR, MFA settings- which is not available via O365 portal).
