How to run Android Studio from USB flash drive in Ubuntu - android-studio

I'm trying to run Android Studio from a USB flash drive in Ubuntu. The laptop only has 15GB of hard drive (Chromebook converted to Linux) I installed jdk locally, but Android Studio I unzip it onto the flash drive. (No problem installing) but when I run Android Studio and create a project, the Gradle in the design area doesn't start and gives me an error (permission problems)…. Has anyone successfully ran Android Studio from a USB flash drive and can share the right configuration?

You are probably using a FAT filesystem on the USB and that's causing the permission problems.
Reformat it as ext4 and you should be fine.

Android Emulator is not running on Android Studio 3.3.2 (MacBook Air)

I have installed Android Studio 3.3.2, I had some problems with the SDK path and I cannot run the app from my application icon, but from the terminal window using sudo ./studio. I had to set the SDK path and re-install SDK into a new folder.
Now I cannot run the AVD emulator and I get the following error messages:
18:23 Emulator: emulator: ERROR: Unknown AVD name
[Pixel_2_XL_API_28], use -list-avds to see valid list.
18:23 Emulator: Process finished with exit code 1
I have been through all the other fixes, such as re-installing Android Studio, re-installing the emulation, Intel x86 Emulator accelerator enabled, deleting all the virtual devices and re-building them.
There is one problem, which is my MacBook keeps reporting "Your disk is almost full" currently have 1.5GB spare space on the drive.
I have been through all the other fixes, such as re-installing Android Studio, re-installing the emulation, Intel x86 Emulator accelerator enabled, deleting all the virtual devices and re-building them.
I have read the path might be set wrong for the AVD drivers, but cannot see anywhere these are present in the Android Studio.
Could the problem be with the lack of space disk space or something else going?
I re-built by MacBook and re-installed Android Studio and all problems resolved.

Why is Android Studio not finding the x86 emulator when running a flutter app?

Software
MacOS Sierra 10.12.6
Android Studio 3.1.2
Flutter 0.3.2 • channel beta
Tools • Dart 2.0.0-dev.48.0.flutter-fe606f890b
Flutter doctor (no problems found)
Problem
I am using Android Studio IDE to develop flutter apps, but I can't get any of the Android virtual device emulators to launch from the IDE. Whenever an Android virtual device is selected, such as the Pixel P, an error message appears saying "PANIC: the emulator program for the x86 CPU is missing". However, the emulator does work when it is launched from the command line:
$ cd /Users/$USER/Library/Android/sdk/emulator
$ emulator -avd Pixel_API_P
The problem seems to be specific to flutter projects, given that the same virtual devices are being launched normally with Android projects.
I changed the virtual device's x86 image to x86_64 and the problem was solved. Still don't undertand the underlying cause, but it worked:
ADV Manager > edit device > (name_of_device) Change... > x86 images > download & select x86_64 image
Check if your GPU rendering is activated in your BIOS settings.
Generally the BIOS keeps the GPU rendering off. You can change it, then clean your Android Studio, then reload your ADB.
Hope this helps. :)

Unable to create a virtual device: Unable to create Android virtual device

While installing Android studio 2.1 version and it downloaded the required components and end of the detailed view logs it shows,
Android SDK is up to date.
Running Intel® HAXM installer
Intel HAXM installed successfully!
Creating Android virtual device
Unable to create a virtual device: Unable to create Android virtual device
I'm running Android studio for the first time in Windows 7.
Screenshot:
And after opening the Andriod studio and running a sample app, I get the error
Error while waiting for device: Could not start AVD
Why is it unable to create a virtual device and how can I solve the problem?
All what you can do with that screen is just to click finish.
The problem that you may get as a result is failing in creating a first Virtual Device for you because its config file is either missing (not created) or corrupted !
So what you would do is just to create your own new Virtual Device and delete the corrupted one!
Even though I don't know what exactly caused the avd creation problem in a new laptop. I did exactly the same thing as user #Jamalla posted. I clicked finish and tried to run my sample app in the existing emulator. As Jamalla pointed out the config.ini file was corrupted. So I deleted the existing AVD and created a new one. But I couldn't start it either because my VT was not enabled in my BIOS.
After enabling my VTx in BIOS menu I was able to start the AVD with no issues.
I had a problem running emulator on OSX El Capatain. It turned out .android directory owner was root. I have changed the ownership resolved the problem.
I am running a 64-bit version of Ubuntu, I installed some 32-bit libraries as stated in installation instructions on the Android Studio web page with the following command:
sudo apt-get install libc6:i386 libncurses5:i386 libstdc++6:i386 lib32z1 libbz2-1.0:i386
After the above command I reinstalled the Android Studio the problem disappeared.

Android app is not launched in emulator in Android studio

I created an app in Android studio. It builds and runs on my phone but, When i run emulator it runs and shows the phone.
The output:
emulator: WARNING: Crash service did not start
qemu-system-i386.exe: -drive if=none,index=1,id=cache,file=C:\Users\one\.android\avd\Nexus_5_API_23_new.avd/cache.img: could not open disk image C:\Users\one\.android\avd\Nexus_5_API_23_new.avd/cache.img: Could not open 'C:\Users\one\.android\avd\Nexus_5_API_23_new.avd/cache.img': Invalid argument
How to fix this?
It may be bad, but it´s working for me:
First, go to your SDK folder (i.e. %localappdata%\android\sdk)
Open the "tools" folder.
There you find an "emulator-crash-service.exe" file. Copy it to the same folder and rename it to "emulator64-crash-service.exe".
Go back to the SDK Folder and go to the subfolders "extras\intel\Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager\" and launch the "intelhaxm-android.exe" to install the HAXM driver manually.
Now create a new AVD and it should start.
I solved this problem by:
- redownloading Android x86 image (64bits/api23/google_apis in my case)
- creating a new virtual device and choosing Nexus 5 instead of Nexus 4
I'm not sure if all steps are required.

Android Studio Emulator does not start my apk with 1.2GB mp3 files

Well...
I'm trying to create a apk using android studio. But when i put 1189 files in mp3 to folder assets or raw in android studio, the android studio emulator does not start my apk.
If i delete 1180 files, for example, and try to run, my apk is started normally. I created a Virtual Devices with 2GB RAM, 3GB internal and 100MB SDcard.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem? Thanks.
