I am not any expert, just trying to learn. I am trying to run foreman-installer on a VM but unable to complete the installation. Puppet is installed. I hope someone can help me sort this, not able to find any solution. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
This is the command I'm running:
foreman-installer --enable-foreman-proxy --puppet-server-puppetserver version=2.6.0 --foreman-proxy-tftp=false --foreman-proxy-dhcp=false
Getting this error:

The possible reason for HTTP error could be an unstable network connection or a corporate firewall.
If it was an unstable network connection, as mentioned in the Error message, retry the installation steps that failed.
If you are behind a corporate firewall, you might need additional steps to add your proxy server to the .condarc file on your machine.
Since you are on Windows, you could open the Anaconda prompt and run conda info to figure out where the .condarc file is located.
Find the proxy by running echo "$http_proxy" in your prompt. Copy the proxy.
Open the .condarc file and paste the proxy under proxy_servers section

I have running on my pc:
git version 2.17.1 (Apple Git-112); Docker version 18.06.1-ce; MacOS
High Sierra v 10.13.6; latest Microclimate v18.09
My network is up and I don't have any proxy.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
I got this to work by changing to a different wifi \ internet connection. Still not sure why my home wifi, with no restrictions that I'm aware of, will 'block' the dependency downloads upon start of Microclimate.
If anybody has additional info to help find the root cause please feel free to share.
This docker error generally shows up when your internet connection is too slow for Docker, as it times out performing the TLS handshake. This would also explain why moving to another network fixes the issue.
I installed mongo following this tutorial with the exception that I ran the service with pm2 because I can actually tell what I am doing with pm2.
I then have been trying to follow this tutorial however I cant even access the shell.
I have tried the following commands and none of them work:
./bin/mongo causes a file not found error whether it is in my project file or in the /var/lib/mongodb folder where the db is supposedly "installed"

mongo localhost:27017 (or just mongo)

Why did it shut down
Why is the host=GraphicsApplications? That is an old folder that I have since deleted on my machine. It was my first attempt at getting this going but back then I was hosting my DB with mlab. The folder/name it lists no longer exists. For some reason though the start of every line in terminal says root#GraphicsApplications. Not sure where that name came from... perhaps I named the box that?
Ultimately I dont know exactly how that tutorial had me install mongodb. Sure I installed the packages and everything but I dont feel like I ever really created anything if that makes sense.
It is worth noting that pm2 does show the status of the mongod app as "errored" currently but I am not sure why or for how long it stayed up.
I am just trying to get my database running on my own Linux box rather than mlab. I had everything working with mlab but now want to be hosting my db on localhost.
Looking in the logs it says that your hostname is host=GraphicsApplications
But in your actual hosts file you have 127.0.1.1 GraphicsApplications GraphicsApplications
Edit this line in your hosts file to be just 127.0.1.1 GraphicsApplications
Then save the file and rerun mongod. Hopefully that should do it.
Regarding file not found:
Try running from the cmd line:
which mongo
If that doesn’t show any result then the mongo binariesarn’t in your PATH env variable, in which case try
find / -name “mongo*”
That should then show where your mongo binaries have been installed.
If you know where the binaries are installed then running:
./bin/mongo
Presumes you’re in the mongo home dir, so you would need to run;
/var/lib/mongodb/bin/mongo
Regarding connection refused
could be an iptables rule, try disabling it and starting mongo
sudo ufw disable
hostfile
Comment out this
127.0.1.1 GraphicsApplications
And change/add this
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain

When i run composer update it fails showing error:

Am on Ubuntu Linux 16.04, and below is what i had to do to fix the issue, as i mentiond earlier its some problem with proxy settings.
Step 1
Goto System settings
Network
Network proxy
Change it to none
finally click Apply system wide
Step 2
Open terminal and type the following command.
unset https_proxy && unset socks_proxy && unset ftp_proxy
Finally restart your system. The solution above got the issue solved for me.
The line using proxy 127.0.0.1:8888 suggest a problem with your system. I can guess that's a really aggressive antivirus. You should have no reason to connect to localhost on port 8888 unless you have to connect through proxy. What can you do? Check the antivirus settings and turn off checks for secure connections over HTTPS.
I am new in Ubuntu14.04 and I would need some help for connect to a server via GUI. I would like to install a software from our Windows server. I created a directory where I want to install the software. I selected "Connect to server" in GUI and copied the server address and clicked to the connect bottom. But I got the following message: Unhandled error message: Failed to mount Windows share: Connection timed out
I do not know how I can fix this error. Could someone suggest me a solution? Thank you for your help in advance!
