I am trying to install puppet-enterprise-2016.1.2-ubuntu-14.04-amd64.tar on Ubuntu 14.04. I get to the browser gui installer. I open the server FQDN with port 3000 in a browser, select monothilic, and on the same server. I fill in the FQDN name, DNS alias, and console admin password, and then click submit. Then I get to the Puppet Enterprise Installer - Validating page. After that nothing is displaying. It looks like it is stuck. The page should display validating RAM, memory etc., but it does not show any details. It only shows this in the browser page:
View the answer files we've just generated
master.puppet.vm
You can find the installer answer file at '/opt/puppetlabs/puppet/share/installer/answers' on ec2-35-163-72-135.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com, but note that this answer file is overwritten each time you run the installer.
I checked the /var/log/puppetLabs log file but there is no info.
How can I know what is the problem?

I am unable to load a csproj in VS2015. I get the Creation of the virtual directory http://localhost:<Port_Number>/ failed with the error: Unable to access the IIS metabase. You do not have sufficient privilege to access IIS web sites on your machine. error. I tried the following:
Uninstalled and reinstalled IIS
Gave access to %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\config & %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\config\Export folders
Changed <UseIIS>True</UseIIS> to <UseIIS>False</UseIIS>
Rebooted the system
None of the above worked. Could you advise how to fix this problem please?
You can solve this problem in two ways:
Launch Visual Studio with Administrator priviledges.
Permanently grant the IIS Metabase folder permissions to the current user.
You can press Win + E to open a Windows Explorer instance, then write the following line on the topmost address bar depending on the OS you’re using, As soon as you hit the Enter key the following popup will appear, asking you if you want to permanently grant access to that folder to the current user, click on the Continue button, then try to open up the \Export\ subfolder with a couple mouse clicks and repeat the same process. You’re done: from now on, you’ll be able to launch Visual Studio with default priviledges and your IIS instance will work without hassles.
More information about setting you can refer to this link: setting
I had this problem when trying to load a visual studio 2015 solution. The solution would load but website project would remain unloaded and the output window would show that error message.
Click the unloaded website project in the solution explorer
Go to the properties section dock-window, there is a property called "File Path"
If it is set to an URL, change it to the full physical path to the website.
Reload the project.
I was a Railo user who just started setting up a new server. As part of this migration I thought I would update to the newest version of Lucee as well.
The Lucee install went much smoother than I remember my last Railo install going and all sites worked immediately after setup. However, when I set my IP address to show debugging information to I get the following error at the end of all pages on my sites:
Message template [[**My Webroot**]\Nightscape\WEB-INF\lucee\context\Component.cfc] must contain a component or an interface.
Stacktrace The Error Occurred in
C:\lucee\tomcat\lucee-server\context\context\admin\debug\Debug.cfc: line 1
1: <cfcomponent>
2:
3: <cfset fields=array()>
called from C:\lucee\tomcat\lucee-server\context\context\admin\debug\Modern.cfc: line 1
This occurs whether I set the debug template to classic or modern. I haven't done anything on this server yet other than install Lucee, tweak some of the settings in the server admin, and setup my sites in IIS. I did try to navigate to [My Webroot]\Nightscape\WEB-INF\lucee\context\Component.cfc and found that it is just a blank file; is it supposed to have content?
I found that some other sites were working once they were setup. Upon comparison, the other sites had the following content in \WEB-INF\lucee\context\Component.cfc
<cfcomponent displayname="Component" hint="This is the Base Component"></cfcomponent>
A similar problem happened with other sites leading to a variety of errors, but they all traced back to zero length files created by Lucee that I just had to copy from other sites.
I am facing a strange error in xpages. Whenever i preview any xpage in internet explorer I get error 500. I've tried this with new nsf, I created only one blank xpage with no elements and tried to preview, I got the same error.
I've also checked the "Display Xpages runtime error page" in xpages tab in Application Properties section but got the same 500 error.
(I am working on my local machine)
Url of my xpage:
http://localhost/test/testdb.nsf/testxpage.xsp
For every preview attempt log.nsf has below entry
04/17/2012 03:24:10 PM HTTP Web Server: Command Not Handled Exception [/test/testdb.nsf/testxpage.xsp] Anonymous
Below is the error on ie.
Error 500
HTTP Web Server: Command Not Handled Exception
Step 1: Go to the application properties and tick "Show standard error page"
Step 2: Make sure that your application is build (default autobuild in project is ON, but you never know)
Step 3: Try project clean
Step 4: Check the errorlog in data/domino/workspace/log
Step 5: Post your code here to have a look
Based on your description most probable reason is security: you have no right to run XPages on the server. Either sign with proper ID or manage to be in "Sign agents or XPages to run on behalf of the invoker:" field of server document (in Security tab).
Anyway, you should always look for the log mentioned by #Simon McLoughlin.
Try looking at the stack trace in C:/domino-Data-Directory/IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT and the most recent xpages_...log file, generally a lot more helpful than the one line errors you get in other places
If you are working on Windows Vista/7 then for starting your Lotus Notes, right click on Lotus Notes icon and click on "Run as administrator". It works this way on my local machine. I guess this is due to UAC (User Account Control).
I guess that it is your Notes client. Then you need to check with your admin.
Some of the time, We do not have a sufficient privilege for data folder. I am also faced this issue.
Check your server port, probably it may 80. So some your application takes port 80 like face book, skype... So quit that process and try :)
Are you using Extension library in the application ?
Then you need to do a double installation, both the designer and the Client installation to be able to preview.
I'm experiencing the same issue with my server, I only did what #stwissel suggested and then restarted my server and it all worked, but in your case your running it locally try restarting you PC and hope it works.
Are you running Quicker? I found this article and thought it might help, http://www.zarazaga.net/web/z.nsf/dx/getting-error-500-on-opening-an-xpage
I am trying to access a static file on a Novell file server.
The drives are mapped on the IIS box. The application is using the the default application pool.
The path (not shown in Title above) is : \cms1\vol4\cms\008\docs\008\2011\Nov\0224294.pdf
If I enter the above path from the command line on the IIS box, it opens the PDF just fine. When accessed via IIS, I receive the error shown in the Title above.
I have researched numerous threads looking for an answer. Most of them suggest changing the properties of the application pool. I have modified it to use my User ID and Password, and confirmed this is the case by checking w3wp.exe, and it shows as running with my user ID. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Does your server have CIFS enabled? If it is just using NCP, then is Client32 installed on that machine so that NCP access will be enabled?
If you enable CIFS on the Netware or OES server then there is no need for Client32 on the IIS server. In either case, the service needs to try to connect to the share as a user with sufficient rights. I imagine the IIS_IUSRS account is not existing in the eDirectory tree.
All of a sudden, I'm getting the following message in the area where
my remote files used to be listed:
"To see the files in your repository you must define its Version
Control settings."
This is happening for multiple sites and the Version Control setting
is set to none (and it always has been).
I had another Dreamweaver author, try it on her system and she got to the remote server just fine. When I logged on to her system I got the same problem, but this time it said "FTP error...password problem..."--she's on Windows 7--I'm on XP. Our company does not support "version control." I can't find any "SVNs" lieing around either.
You will see this message when you are in the 'Repository View' and you haven't set up version control. You can check this in the FILES tab/window. If you don't see it press F8 or select Window/Files. Switch from Repository view to Local View, Test Sever, or Remote Server as appropriate.
