I am adding a node module to a project of mine and I am not able to build the project till I do an npm install delete the node modules folder and do an npm install again. Just deleting the node modules and doing an npm install does not fix it.

I am trying to clone a remote react-native project but I am getting errors when running the npm install command to download all the dependencies in the package.json folder.
I am in the same root directory where the package.json file is.
This is what I get when running npm install:
when I try doing npm install --force or npm install --legacy-deps I get:
I've tried uninstalling node reinstalling to the LTS and current version.
This is the process I followed when trying to install the dependencies:
clone remote repo
npm init
npm install
I am not quite sure what else to do any help would be greatly appreciated.
First you need to get in project directory then install the node packages
cd <ProjectName>
npm install
Why npm install does not work perfectly. When i create a new angular project and copy and paste the "src" file there, npm install works. But when I copy-paste the "package.json" same as src, npm install does not work.
This error is mentioned in the nodemon documentation:
If you see the error Cannot find module 'internal/util/types', the
error is solved with a clean npm cache and trying to reinstall the
dependency you're working with.
A start is to use the following commands:
sudo npm cache clean --force
sudo npm i -g npm
You have some missing modules in node_modules folder.
try to install with auto-install.
first install the global-cli by cmd npm install -g auto-install
then run auto-install in the directory you are working in.
I installed the latest Node and Angular on Windows 10
npm install npm#latest -g
npm install -g #angular/cli#latest
But when I try to start a project ng new new-project I get the following error
npm WARN tarball tarball data for #angular/compiler#^6.1.0 (sha512-TY6axB1c7VvYXf+ebFDq3Ej+edgii3CDxew8HnyTFAWeDF2Gh8io1vTYwtdyDka6U53ASaheM1HpiUjzvYH0jQ==) seems to be corrupted. Trying one more time.

I tried to uninstall Node.js and Angular CLI completely and then reinstall again
npm install npm#latest -g
npm install -g #angular/cli#latest
But still the same error ..... So I googled this issue. It seems like some people had it too, but then it magically disappeared for some people.
How to fix this?
I was getting the same below error when attempting to a create new project using ng new command.
npm WARN tarball tarball data for #angular/compiler#~7.2.0
(sha512-5yb4NcLk8GuXkYf7Dcor4XkGueYp4dgihzDmMjYDUrV0NPhubKlr+SwGtLOtzgRBWJ1I2bO0S3zwa0q0OgIPOw==)
seems to be corrupted. Trying one more time.
I tried many things but what did not worked and what finally worked for me I have listed below. My working node version is 12.2.0 and npm version is 6.9.0 (i.e. latest version).
What did not worked:
Downgraded node js to other lower versions (tried many version)
Deleted package-lock.json file from project and executed npm install
Executed npm install --registry https://registry.cnpmjs.org instead of npm install
Deleted npm and npm-cache folders from AppData\Roaming and then again installed node js
Deleted node_modules folder, executed npm update and then executed npm install
Executed npm cache clean --force and then executed npm install
Reinstalled #angular/cli
Checked for any firewall / antivirus (in my case it was disabled)
Opened node command prompt as an administrator
Checked user permissions for the project folder
Finally what worked is:
Installed the component for which it was giving error. npm install -global #angular/compiler
I had the same problem with node 12.13.0 and npm 6.13.0
npm WARN tarball tarball data for #angular/compiler#^7.2.11 (sha512-5yb4NcLk8GuXkYf7Dcor4XkGueYp4dgihzDmMjYDUrV0NPhubKlr+SwGtLOtzgRBWJ1I2bO0S3zwa0q0OgIPOw==) seems to be corrupted. Trying one more time.
For me the problem was npm. After upgrading npm to the newest version with npm i -g npm#latest the problem vanished. So it seems to be a problem with npm itself and not the Angular/CLI.
upgrade your NPM version use this command i -g npm#latest it works like magic
On the Mac, after installing node with:
brew install node
The only package that showed up in /usr/local/lib/node_modules is npm. My previous installation of node contained a bunch of packages such "express, apn, http2, ws, etc."
Any ideas?
There was not a package.json either.
When you install node you only get npm, those other packages you mention, were installed using
# probably with sudo
npm install -g {package}
The package.json is created when you run:
npm init
It has nothing to do with node installation.
If you wish to start a new project:
mkdir project
cd project
npm init
npm install {package-name} {other-package}
And now you will have a node_modules folder inside project/ and a package.json with {package-name} & {other-package} as dependencies
I'm attempting to install the Ushahidi V3 Client. I've been following the install process up until when I need to build the project from the source repo using npm and gulp - both of which I've had zero experience with. Whenever I run sudo npm install in the project directory, the process runs without complaints. However, when I run npm ls to verify that dependencies have been downloaded, I get a bunch of dependencies listed out as being missing.
How do I get npm to resolve all of these dependencies?
System Details
OS Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty)
Node JS v0.12.9
NPM v3.5.1
What I've tried
Removing node_modules folder and re-running sudo npm install as referenced in this SO answer for a similar question: npm Gulp dependencies missing, even after running npm install
Uninstalling and reinstalling node and npm
#Strainy, as your research :D
It was a combination of running as sudo and not having the build-essentials.
That's why you should not use sudo npm
Follow these steps:
try npm uninstall. and then try npm install.
Also If it still doesn't work.
Try:
npm install -g npm-install-missing
or
npm-install-missing
