I am seeing Fatal error: Cannot read property 'setEncoding' of undefined on my Mac when running through the OpenFin tutorial here => https://openfin.co/create-your-first-application/
It's happening when calling > grunt serve.
This bug was fixed on the latest version of the openfin-launcher, please re-install that package:
npm install openfin-launcher#1.3.3
Additionally change the version form "stable" to "beta" as Mac support is still experimental.

While upgrading ES to version 5.6.16, did a system restart for the new version to take effort.
Tried to get ES version, for which it said connection refused.
Then when I manually start elastic search throws error
plugin [repository-s3] is incompatible with version [5.6.16]; was designed for version [5.2.0]
This repository plugin is used for snapshot/restore solution. To run it please upgrade plugin also to 5.6.16 version
sudo ./elasticsearch-plugin install -b file:///pathToPluginZipFile/repository-s3-5.6.16.zip
What worked for me is that I uninstalled the repository-s3
Then reinstalled it. Then I manually started the ES and it worked.
Do you know which version of kapsel-plugin-i18n might work with iOS 15 ?
Which version of npm and node might fit with Cordova 9.0.0 ?
Indeed, I had to upgrade the Kapsel plugins for my application to fit with iOS 15 but there is an error when I try to install the kapsel-plugin-i18n. (which comes from the SDK 3.2 SP04 PL1).
"Cannot find plugin.xml for plugin kapsel-plugin-i18n. Please try adding it again."
But the plugin.xml is here, in the local directory.
For information, I'm using :
Cordova 9.0.0
npm 6.14.15
node : 14.18.0
Mac OS Big Sur (11.6)
The command line I'm using is :
sudo cordova plugin add kapsel-plugin-i18n --searchpath /Absolute path to plugin local directory/.
Thank you for your answer.

I tried to install Node js 15.5.1 (latest version) and this error occurred:
(node:13440) [DEP0005] DeprecationWarning: Buffer() is deprecated due
to security and usability issues. Please use the Buffer.allocUnsafe()
instead
I downloaded the installer at https://nodejs.org/en/, I followed the installer's steps and marked the option to add the node references to the machine's path, however after a few minutes the installation stopped and sent me above error.
Related to js I have the Code Runner extension in Visual Studio Code, but otherwise nothing.
My operating system is Windows.
The Node installer js managed to fix the error. I went to the installer again and clicked on the "Repair" option, shortly after at the command prompt I used node --version and everything is fine.
I'm trying to install Sails.JS 0.11.0 to my Windows 7 laptop (intel cpu) but receive an error when npm tries to build it. The error is pasted at the end of this message.
I'm using Node 0.10.38 (required for my use of the OracleDB module, so I can't upgrade to version 12 yet).
My laptop has Visual Studio 2013 Express Desktop which is used to compile.
The Sails npm install completes using npm -g list sails, but with errors, so I worry it's not properly installed.
So far, I've reboot my computer, wiped its temp files, and did everything I can think of. Any suggestions? I can't find any compatibility info on the Sails site (maybe I need to install an older version of Sails?).
The link-cvtres.write.[ID].tlog file referenced below seems to exist in that directory (which is built on the fly)... at least, a version of the file with a "1" in place of the "[ID]" is there.
Any help is appreciated.

>> 3 files lint free.
Running "clean:tests" (clean) task
Cleaning "tmp"...OK
Running "responsive_images:default_options" (responsive_images) task
Fatal error: spawn ENOENT
why i am getting this error pla tellme...
Thnk you.
It is likely because you don't have imagemagick installed: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php
See the FAQ on that plugin: https://github.com/andismith/grunt-responsive-images#faq
I experienced exactly the same error as you yesterday, and I found that I had installed wrong version of node.js eventually.
I'm using 64-bit Windows,but I had installed 32bit version Node.js.
I could install it and it seems working normally, but when I tried to compile existing project, the error message had been shown.
But after I re-install 64-bit version of Node.js, all error had been solved.
If you are using 64bit OS, better to check the version is correct or not.
