I have a screen in my react-native app where I am showing details of a record. It's a pretty simple screen where on the left column, I have a label describing the item and on the right, I have the value of the item. For one of the values, I have to render a ListView and I am not able to properly align it. Below is the sample app on rnplay with the symptoms:
Sample app on rnplay
Please run on iOS. Here ComponentListView is a reusable component that I am using to render ListView and it takes a component and data as it props and render each entry in the data using the passed in component. Here the list is BackupList and the component to render in each row is BackupSummary. If you run the app, you will observe that the backups are not aligned properly. I ran it in the Inspector on the simulator and looks like the ListView starts from where Varun Accepted is seen. I am not sure why. Right now there is just one item in the this.props.backupContacts but there could be more. I have tried many different flexbox properties such as alignItems, justifyContent, alignSelf in order to get it to work with no success.
Please let me know if you know how to fix it.
Put your ListView inside a View and apply css on View, something like this
<View style={{display:'flex', flexDirection:'row', justifyContent:'center'}}>
<ListView/>
</View>

I am using a UICollectionView in C# Xamarin ios and sometimes all of the cells will disappear from the screen. This happens normally on a scroll and I have to re-invoke the view that my UICollection View is on.
I can't show my exact code as this is a project that I am working on but the initialization basics look a little like this:
Bounds screenBounds = screen.Bounds
UICollectionViewFlowLayout layout = new UICollectionViewFlowLayout();
UICollectionView collectionView = new UICollectionView(layout, bounds)
I initialize a few other things like source and register cell and also add separation and border styles.
I have been also getting an error about a view not being in the hierarchy don't know if this has anything to do with it.
I do return the collectionView at the end and will add this returned value to my template which has a scroll view in which I add the UICollectionView to.
May I also mention I don't use any of the StoryBoard and am using a DuqueReusable cell in my collection view source.
I have been stuck on this for ages so thank you in advance for anyone who can give me any sort of tips or answers to this question.
Insure you make any changes to ItemsSource or to cells data on UI thread only, otherwise you might obtains an uncatchanble async crash and you'll end up with an empty view.
Device.BeginInvokeOnMainThread(() => {
// do your stuff
});
I have two Pivot pages each with their own unique AppBar. The second pivot page, is accessible through the first pivot page via the AppBar. However, when I visit the second pivot page, its corresponding AppBar is not there. At first I thought the AppBar was not being rendered, but I suspect that it is being rendered, and being hidden. Furthermore, when I press the back button, the AppBar corresponding the first page is also gone.
I've attempted doing the following in the ready block
WinJS.UI.processAll().done(function() {
/* Grab winControl for app bar, and show it */
})
But that didn't work. What is going on?
To solve the problem you need to give the appBar a different identifiers (id option of your appBar div tag) in everyone of your HTML pages.
P.S: don't forget to update id in your related JS code.
I'm using twitter bootstrap with JSF-2.2.4 and Spring 3.2.4 Framework. I've built a collapsible accordion based on the following tutorial: http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#collapse
The code seems to work fine, but only if I start with opened accordions, meaning that I add the 'in' class to the div which inherits the content which is supposed to be collapsed. If I remove the 'in' class the accordion is opened by clicking the appropriate link, but the content is no displayed.
Content is plot created with plotfaces.
Any ideas?
Edit: I just tried filling the box with an image. This seems to work. Maybe this helps narrowing down the problem.
I don't know how this plotfaces work, but i expect your problem similair to fullcalendar not visible until button is clicked or window resized?
Try to set .collapse {display;block; visibilty:hidden;} instead of display none. If this don't helps try to focus on the height of the element. The plugin change the height from 0 to auto but on initial load the height is not set.
I am developing the following screen
The fourboxes next to each other are buttons. On clicking of the buttons I am changing the adapter of the listview.
Since the content above the listview took up lot of space I made the whole thing as an header and added it via code.
myPollsList = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.listArea);
myPollsList.addHeaderView(getLayoutInflater().inflate(R.layout.profile_listview_header, null));
Now I want to show some view when the list is empty. But if I do that then the header also goes away.
I am using this in a Activity and not a ListActivity. Any suggestions or workarounds for showing the header even when the list is empty ?
EDIT: Refer to my earlier question here ListView not getting space to show content on smaller screens . This is where someone suggested me to solve the problem by putting it as a header
I found a simple solution for this problem. If there's no elements for list and you are not adding the adapter, just add this:
mListView.setAdapter(null);
and the header will appear. It's easier than adding empty / fake item to the list.
So this is how I solved it. I had a custom adapter which was connected to the listview. When it found that it had zero items to display. It would add a fake empty view as an item to the list.
maybe you will like this Android addHeaderView disappears when no items in ListView
override/subclass your adapter to return false from isEmpty()
Don't use top layouts of button as header for list view.
So to adjust UI without using list header use weights.
Give parent Linear layout weight sum as 4 and 1, 1 to top Layouts and 2 for list view.
GridPanel not rendering correctly
I'm using EditorGridPanels on dynamically generated web pages. ExtJS does not control the ViewPort.
When I wrap the Grid generation code in Ext.onReady(), the grids render perfectly.
If I do not wrap it in Ext.onReady() it renders with subtle layout issues like
the grids are a little too wide
the top toolbar gets cut off on the right
the rows don't quite fit and they shift when clicking a cell
I have tried forcing the grids' layout to get recalculated once the page loads...
(function(){}
var grid = ...
[ ... ]
Ext.onReady(function(){
grid.doLayout();
});
)();
...but this does not work.
The reason I'm trying to avoid placing Grid initialization inside Ext.onReady() is that sometimes pages take a long time to fully load every resource, and in these cases the pages look fully loaded apart from the blank spaces where the grids eventually get rendered to!
Any suggestions on what I might try? Right now a complete redesign of the page is not in scope, so I'm looking for something I can do to get the grid to layout like it does when initialized inside onReady()!
Thanks
You could perhaps mask the page initially with 'loading..' message and remove this in the onReady().
If you're getting issue outside of on the onReady it would indicate something has not loaded when you're trying to render components, this in my experience will lead to further issues down the line.
