htaccess RewriteRule along with parameter - .htaccess

How should I write in htaccess file to rewrite
http://mySite/index.php?id=55
as http://mySite/55 ??
55 is just an example, but it will vary on each id.

In htaccess in the document root
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^([^./]+)$ /index.php?id=$1 [L]
This will allow you to access "/index.php?id=numbr" using "/number" .

Get the language from URL with .htaccess

I have several languages on my site.
At the root I have a index.php. It's my homepage.
I want this type of url : domain.com/fr/ or domain.com/en/
Witch must be the same as domain.com/index.php?lang=fr or domain.com/index.php?lang=en.
So I use this .htaccess rule:
# Redirect to a page (xxxxx.com/index.php?lang=fr)
RewriteRule ^(fr|en|es|cn|ar)/index$ index.php?lang=$1 [L]
But it don't work.
Could you please help me with that ?
Thanks.
You can use:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^(fr|en|es|cn|ar)/$ index.php?lang=$1 [L]

Rewrite http://example.com/test.asp?index=3 to http://example.com/about

I need to Rewrite the old urls generated by ISS to a new system we have build (Joomla).
The url's had to be google friendly. What we want to happen:
Rewrite http://example.com/test.asp?index=3 to http://example.com/about
I've used a few Rewrite's i knew, but they dont work:
RewriteRule ^/test.asp?index=3 / [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^/test.asp?index(.*)3 / [R=301,L
What pice of code am i missing/doeing wrong?
Kind regards.
You must use QUERY_STRING to check query string.
You can use this code in your htaccess (in document root folder)
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^index=3$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^test\.asp$ /about [R=301,L]
Note: put this rule before Joomla's rules

htaccess redirect if filename equals something

I'd like to set a redirect (preferably with RewriteCond) so that if the requested file is index.php regardless of directory, it will be redirected to another site.
So visiting /index.php or/files/index.php or /stuff/index.php (etc.) will all redirect you to another domain.
Here is a general way to do it. This rule set should be placed in the .htaccess file in the root directory:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} index\.php/? [NC]
RewriteRule .* http://otherdomain.com/ [R=301,L]
Redirects permanently any URL that holds index.php in any position, like
http://mydomain.com/index.php or
http://mydomain.com/any/folder/quantity/index.php or
http://mydomain.com/any/folder/quantity/index.php/any/folder/quantity/
To
http://otherdomain.com/
That's it. You don't explain much so nothing is passed to the other domain, just as you say in your question:
...redirected to another site.
These rules should do it (when placed inside /.htaccess file):
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule (?:^|/)index\.php$ http://otherdomain.com/ [R=301,L]

modrewrite website with slash in .htaccess

How can I translate an URL like:
http://localhost/mySite/?link=OFFERS&sublink=ARTICLE&subsublink=DETAIL
to:
http://localhost/mySite/OFFERS/ARTICLE/DETAIL
if one parameter is empty it should still work like this:
localhost/mySite/?link=OFFERS&sublink=ARTICLE
localhost/mySite/OFFERS/ARTICLE
Extra problem: There is an enter page under index.php and the rewrite should work with index2.php. Best would be if it would work under localhost and on live system without changes.
Currently I'm using: RewriteRule ^([^/.]+)$ index2.php?link=$1 [L]
But that only works for one parameter and I couldn't improve this code for ages ^^
RewriteRule ^([^/.]+)(/([^/.]+))?(/([^/.]+))?$ index2.php?link=$1&sublink=$3&subsublink=$5 [L,QSA]
Note that localhost/mySite/OFFERS/ARTICLE links to localhost/mySite/?link=OFFERS&sublink=ARTICLE&sussublink= and not localhost/mySite/?link=OFFERS&sublink=ARTICLE.
Should not be a big issue, but make sure the PHP code doesn't us isset($_GET['subsublink']).
Try adding the following to your htaccess file in the mysitedirectory of your site.
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /mysite/
# rewrite http://localhost/mySite/OFFERS/ARTICLE/DETAIL to
# http://localhost/mySite/?link=OFFERS&sublink=ARTICLE&subsublink=DETAIL
#assumes that index2.php is in the root directory of site
RewriteRule ^([-a-zA-Z0-9])+/([-a-zA-Z0-9])+/([-a-zA-Z0-9])+ index2.php?link=$1&sublink=$2&subsublink=$3 [NC,L]
#redirect index to index2
#if you do not want to redirect, just server rewrite, remove the R=301 below
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ index2.php [NC,L,R=301]

htaccess : rewrite urls

please help to rewrite Urls from
http://www.site.com/index.php?cat=catname
and
http://www.site.com/index.php?id=productname
to be like this
http://www.site.com/catname
and
http://www.site.com/productname
i think it will require php check if the page is cat work with it as cat
or its product work with it as product
in .htaccess file:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^([0-9a-z\-\_]+)?$ /index.php?id=$1 [L,QSA,NC]
category/product check must be done in index.php...
Or you can add extra slug
RewriteRule ^(category)/([0-9a-z\-\_]+)?$ /index.php?category=$1 [L,QSA,NC]
RewriteRule ^(product)/([0-9a-z\-\_]+)?$ /index.php?product=$1 [L,QSA,NC]
but url will look like http://site.com/category/catname
http://www.site.com/catname and http://www.site.com/productname
The problem with that scheme is that you can't tell whether it's a catalog name or a product name by the URL. As a result, you'll probably want something like this:
http://www.site.com/Catalog/catname and http://www.site.com/Product/productname
Which can then be implemented in a .htaccess file with the following rules:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^Catalog/(.+)$ /index.php?cat=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^Product/(.+)$ /index.php?id=$1 [L]
