As we know if we go to localhost:8983/techproducts/browse we get Solaritas which search based on /browse in requestHandler. How to change search based on browse to be search based on /select for Solaritas search?
if you know it very helpfull for me
Thanks
Did You mean just like if go to link
localhost:8983/techproducts/select
you want Solaritas to come up in browser is it. if that is the case just change request hander name in solrconfig.xml
But Solaritas is like demo UI, showing how we can use Solr response data to represent it to user on screen.

In our old project we're using Alfresco 4.2.c community version.
There's a task page there, were you can use predefined filters to manage data you want to see.
I was able to add some extra filters there, anyway another problem stands in my way.
There's a paginator there, probably from YUI, which works by two parameters, maxCount and skipCount.
Right now it's configured to show max 400 records on one page.
I'm trying to add an option to display all records at once. Is anyone familiar enough with that system to even tell if it's possible? YUI framework is very hard to manage.
It seems like on every page or filter change it redirects you to ahref='#', a then a method reads the filter id and gives some extra parameters to the request. I can't find a way to maybe bind another button to reload the page in the same manner and just add another line to the request, which would make the paginator show all the records at one page.
On the website I run we have a single search field where you can enter a name or profession. When you search you are served with a page full of results that come from 3 seperate sources.
Once you click on one field e.g. John Do, you will be taken to his page. On that page we have a back to search, but it goes to a blank screen.
I want to go back to the actual search results so the person doesn't have to do it all again, but I'm not sure where to start. Any suggestions?
That's a tricky situation.
There can be many solutions for this issue but I'll will name some of them.
Activate the cache of the pages (Quick trick, no suitable for websites that relies on users (*login)), you can go back and your form will be the same with the results without any issue.
Manage the load of the page of Jhon Do as a ajax load and #hashtag references, you don't reload the page but you just manage the states of the HTML. (Can be done with JS frameworks or React)
Depends on which platform are you working try to manage the variable of the search with this concept post-redirect-get
Hope that is helps!
Cheers.
I am currently working on a project which requires content to be published onto a view or page depending on a search result criteria. For example: I search through my content for the word dog and this word appears on 4 of 20 pieces of content. I wish to view all of those items on a page that is not the Search Results page, but rather one that displays all the content found, so I can print each piece of content.
I apologize if this post is awkwardly worded. At this moment it is just an idea and I am trying to get a better picture of how to change publishing based on search results to a certain area.
Thank you for your time -- and if anyone wishes to ask follow up questions, I'd be more than willing to help clarify.
You can use a view with exposed filter. Create a view, create a filter criteria there, then in settings - check "Expose this filter to visitors, to allow them to change it". A user will see a form in a view, wich you can also make separate from a view, by setting "exposed form" to "yes" and putting it in a sepparate block.
I want to have a search box on top of the header, but when I submit keywords, I dont want the results to appear on the header, but on the body.
To do this, I thought id have the plugin once in the header and another in the body in a special "Search" page, where I could hide the from in the header when the user was using this page. But I dont know how to do, so that when a search is done, to jump to this other page. (Its sort of like when tt_news has a single pid to go from LIST to SINGLE)
How can I do it to do this jump? Or maybe is there an easier way to achieve what I want?
On common pages you need to construct "pure html" in the header part with the search form where its action is link to the another page - displaying search results. It uses typolink for generating proper form's action.
On the page with search results you don't need to hide the search form, instead you can use TypoScript to fill the search field with value entered on the common page.
There is ready-to-use sample of TypoScript for such scenario placed in Introduction Package, I don't use it so sorry, but I won't paste it here. Anyway you can install it locally and dig for nice snippets and techniques.
I dont want the default results that SharePoint returns. I want the query term when entered into SharePoint search box to be redirected to a different search engine? Can I do that.
I have seen FAST ESP web parts but could not figure out how they actually transferred the query to FAST search engine.
Any help would be really appreciated!!
Add a content editor to the main search page with the following line of code
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5;url=http://newsearchserver">
To pass the querystring I don't have any code but I did a quick search and the following link provides information about how to get the querystring value.
http://blogs.edork.com/MikeGeyer/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=c6444f02-e1a0-4a5e-b6f4-70bccdc80508&ID=36
From there you should be able to put it together and redirect to another server with the proper querystring.
Good Luck!
You could try to customize the Google Search Appliance search box for sharepoint.
