I am trying to find a way of easily importing external audio urls (podcasts) into my private blog. I have the external url as part of the enclosure but I want to be able to download it (either as part of FeedWordPress) or automatically. Currently, if I wanted to host the file locally I would need to save the file to my computer and then upload it via the Media uploaded. This is rather tiresome. Any ideas? Thank you.

I have successfully uploaded some audio files via Nodejs to AWS, the file url is also returned from my function. I plan to save this url in MongoDB Atlas as a reference to the original file but before doing that, I tried to play the file (from the url) in my mobile app and it won't play.
The file is in .m4a format. How do I get this to work in any audio player for mobile and web? I'm using flutter for both. I don't want to do piping, chunking and streaming manually as this is just a dummy test of the system. The original files to be used in the app will be much larger.
Here's the file url https://empty-bouquet.s3.af-south-1.amazonaws.com/Dax+-Dear+God.m4a.
Thanks
.m4a audios aren't natively streamed from S3, but after a test I can verify that .mp3 files are. Most browsers will recognize that filetype and render a built-in player for you.
You can convert from one format to another using a lot of free tools. I used Audacity.
And yes, you need to make at least the file public. Or if you're going to do this a lot I would recommend making a bucket policy that makes everything public, no matter what you throw in there.
I am capturing multiple videos and trying to store them all in one media asset and later encode them. But I always get the below error. There are no issues however if I upload one file to asset and run the encoding job.
Output 'BuiltInStandardEncoderPreset_0', Error : Microsoft.Azure.Management.Media.Models.JobError : While trying to download the input files, the files were not accessible, please check the availability of the source.
Do I need to use one media asset for each upload? Is having multiple files in one asset not the right approach?
FYI: I tried all thesew steps on media servicer explorer desktop app. So please be sure I didn't write any code for this.
You would indeed need to use a separate Asset for each video. We'll follow up with a service update to improve the error message in this situation.
I think the problem here is not the upload of multiple files in one asset, but the fact that the encoding job will not pick each blob of the asset and encoding them. That's why you need to use one asset per video file to be encoded.
I am developing an open source application which should mount webdav share to local drive letter just like NETDRIVE and WEBDRIVE using node.js and electron-js, so in my application at present I am downloading all files from webdav share which takes a lot of time and not reliable for heavy data. Is there any other approach so that whenever user access a file, only that particular file should be fetched from webdav share, I’ve tried to display files meta data(dummy) structure in directory and kept that directory under file-watcher. So that when user tries to open a file then watcher should capture file open event to get which file was user trying to access, so that in background of application a service will triggered to fetch that particular file using file-path as reference, but none of them are unable to capture file open event. Is there any other approach to do so, correct me if I am in wrong direction.
Thank's
I think you want virtual file-system and recommend Dokan library.
Dokan is the start point of Windows virtual file-system application.
Open Source : Dokan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dokan_Library)
Commercial: EldoS CBFS (https://www.eldos.com/cbfs)
Google, Naver use Dokan and NetDrive, RaiDrive(mine) use CBFS.
I need a python code which can download files from a ftp server. I need a built in multi-part download managing package which can help me to retrieve files faster. I tried SmartDL but the problem is I don't know how to retrieve files in a ftp server. Also I used the add_basic_authentication to ensure that, I am passing the right credentials. Please help me with a solution.
I have no problem using any other solution/package which uses Multipart download.
P.S:- I need to save the Downloaded files on to an Object storage on Cloud. The size of each file may be 300MB and I need to download 20TB of data.
Thanks in anticipation.
Take a look at ftplib, it's a simple FTP library which will permit you to download files from a FTP server.
I am creating a Windows Phone 8 application. I have an image which is currently on my computer disk. I want to store that image in my isolated storage. The problem i am facing is that, that how i will load the image in my application so that i will store the image data in my isolated storage.
The problem is that, the image is located on my computer disk and when i attach the device and run the application it will try to find the file in local sandbox and hence i will get the exception.
System.Io.DirectoryNotFound
Any help will be great.
If I understand you correctly, you want to upload files from your computer to the isolated storage of your app?
I haven't tried it myself but you might want to take a look at Windows Phone Power Tools. According to their own site they let you "Upload / Download Files from IsolatedStorage".
Another option might be ISE (Isolated Storage Explorer).
If you want to access your files on your computer at runtime, I do not believe this is possible.
