Htaccess - routing to a php file - .htaccess

I wish to route all address to my "router.php" file unless it is a file or directory. So far I have this:

This works for most urls such as:
foo.dev/contact-us uses the router.php file, and
foo.dev/styles.css uses the actual file as expected
However, when I go to foo.dev it goes to the index.php instead of the router.php page.
Why is this and how do I fix it?


You can use DirectoryIndex directive:
DirectoryIndex router.php
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . router.php [L]

.htaccess redirects subdomain to top domain when it shouldn't

I'm running a web app in azure and I can only use .htaccess to achieve the behaviour I'm looking for: if the requested URL doesn't match a file under /app or /dist folder then redirect the request to /dist/main.php. This works well if I try something like: http://example.com/ (the request goes into /dist/main.php without any URL redirect) but if I instead use http://www.example.com then it returns a 301 to http://example.com/dist/main.php and I have no idea why?

Page URL named css or js doesn't work

In my site when I go to URL such as my-site.com/css or my-site.com/js, then browser displays the folder listing instead of the actual page saved in the database. If I use Options All -Indexes in my htaccess then it says forbidden. I have following rule in my htaccess to load any dynamic page:
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ page.php?url=$1 [QSA,L]
Since I have also folders named css and js in my project, so I think server displays the directory content instead of dynamic page. How can I prevent this conflict. I know if I use a suffix "page" before my page name then it can be sorted out but i don't want to use any parameter before the page url.

Since /js and /css are real directories your rewrite rules don't execute because you have this condition:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
which means don't run for directories.
You can tweak your .htaccess to this:

.htaccess - This webpage has a redirect loop

I'm cleaning my URLs and everything looks fine but whenever I try to access any directory such as images etc then chrome shows that "This webpage has a redirect loop." However I want to protect directories inside public_html.

option index allow and disallow to be index directory like

.htaccess don't go to folder if slash on end

I have site where
site.com/index.php?page=test (include file test.php from pages folder into index.php)
is replaced by site.com/test
Goal:
If I go to site.com/index.php?page=forum/new_enrty
I want ot make url site.com/forum/new-entry
Problem:
if I open site.com/forum/new-entry it directs me to forum directory to new-entry file directly and not include new-entry into index.php

htaccess rewrite rule for multiple pages

this seems so simple, but it's not working for me.
I am trying to have both show.php?id=$1 and producer.php?id=$1 rewrite as friendly URLs.
The first one works perfectly, the second does not. If I remove the first, the second works fine.
What am I doing wrong here?

Your problem is quite simple.
You cannot have more than one rewrite rule for the same directory, you would need to have a separate folder for each IE. have a folder called "show" and have the htaccess file that contains the rewrite data for show.
.htaccess for show folder:

Then have another folder called "producer" with the 2nd rewrite rule.
