Visual Studio 2015 multiple project template - reference

I want to use a custom template I created with VS 2013 Update 5 in VS 2015.
The template works with VS 2013 Update 5, but not in VS 2015.
I've opened the solution from which the projects are exported as templates in VS 2015, and exported the 5 projects from the solution to the folder "My Exported Templates" under "Visual Studio 2015".
Under "My Exported Templates", I created a root .vstemplate file, which contains the ProjectTemplateLink tags for the 5 included projects. The project names are substituted by $safeprojectname$ here.
In the sub folders of the exported template projects, I've edited the .csproj
files to include the ProjectReference ... tags for the referenced projects.
The project names are substituted by $ext_projectname$ here.
When I create a new Visual Studio Project from the template, in VS 2013 Update 5, the referenced projects names are substituted properly, but not in Visual Studio 2015.
Former, the same problems occurred in Visual Studio 2013 Update 1 - I think it works since Visual Studio 2013 update 2, but I'm only sure that it works under VS 2013 Update 5.
Thanks for any help!
TomK

The Problem only occurs when I open a Visual Studio 2013 Solution in Visual Studio 2015 and use it as a Visual Studio 2015 Solution.
I've built up the solution from the ground in Visual Studio 2015 and exported the projects, and then it worked.

Visual Studio 2012 and 2017 behavior for same website

I have a website when I open that website in Visual Studio 2012, it does not create any solution file but Visual Studio 2017 creates a solution file while opening the same website. why?
See below -
In 2012 -
In 2017 -
I don't want to create a solution file.
I found the solution for avoiding the solution file. Now Visual Studio 2017 and Visual Studio 2012 both looks same. I had "Always show solution" checked under Options -> Projects and Solutions -> General. I unchecked it.
See below -
Now there is no solution file in VS 2017 -

SharePoint 2010 project incompatible in Visual Studio 2015

I have installed Visual Studio 2015 (Professional). But when I open SharePoint 2010 project on VS 2015, it's showing project is incompatible.
Could you please tell any solution or idea to load the project in VS 2015?
Your project is not loading because Microsoft Office Developer Tools is not installed on your machine. You can easily modify your visual studio 2015 by following steps:
Run Visual Studio 2015 Setup File
Click on modify
Find the “Microsoft Office Developer Tools” and select it.
Finally click on Update.
After completing the setup open your project.
When you install VS2015, you do not install the mandatory Office Development Tools for Visual Studio 2015.
Once, you have downloaded and installed those. (Around 78MB) your SharePoint projects should, once again, load up without any errors.

How to choose which version of Visual Studio gets pulled up by default?

I have VS 2012 and 2013 installed on my system.
I have a 2012 project that I want to get pulled up in VS 2013 when I double-click it from the Windows Explorer.
Is this possible?
If you only want specific slns to open in 2013, you can open the sln file in a text editor, and change the line
# Visual Studio 2012
to
# Visual Studio 2013
Note that it will ask you to upgrade the projects to 2013 when you open it for the first time. If you want all of 2013's compiler features you will have to upgrade, but if you chose not to it will still load in the 2013 IDE and you get some of the IDE related features.
Right click any solution file and select Open with... option. Use Visual Studio Version Selector as the default program to use for Visual Studio solution files.

Visual Studio 2012 can't see path to the libs etc after updating

I have installed VS 2012 which worked perfectly until last updating. Now it can't see common paths. I tryed to customize them but failed. For example I have some project being ok before but now there are glitches all around it:
here are current settings I done:
This is like those folders look:
While a new project is creating I get such messges:
Besides I have not found how to make settings global (not for only the single project). For sure all that is not very sophisticated but I have too little experience with VS. So I will very appreciate for real help!
And the current version is:
Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2012
Version 11.0.61030.00 Update 4
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 4.5.50709
Installed Version: Professional
Team Explorer for Visual Studio 2012 04938-004-0033001-02302
Microsoft Team Explorer for Visual Studio 2012
Visual Basic 2012 04938-004-0033001-02302
Microsoft Visual Basic 2012
Visual C# 2012 04938-004-0033001-02302
Microsoft Visual C# 2012
Visual C++ 2012 04938-004-0033001-02302
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012
Visual F# 2012 04938-004-0033001-02302
Microsoft Visual F# 2012
The problem is resolved.
The cause was that before updating VS placed here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0
but after updating here:
B:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0
files which paths became broken left at the old location, i.e. here:
c:\Program Files (x86)\VC\
I really don't know why it is possible but reality is such just this.
So the solution was purely empirical:
1. Try to find lost files on the disk where VS was installed before:
Copy them into the directory where it is installed now:
Open any of projects to check if all is correct now:
Checked!

Visual Studio 2012 Unable to Create dot42 Project

After running through the installation of dot42, and specifying both Visual Studio 2010 integration as well as Visual Studio 2012 integration, I'm unable to find a 'dot42' project in 2012. In 2010 the new dot42 subcategory opens under C# and I'm able to see the project types to create.
I noticed that dot42 installs its dlls in the Extensions folder, and looking at the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions folder, the dot42 files are there, just as they are under Visual Studio 10.0.
Why can't I create a dot42 project in Visual Studio 2012?
I updated dot42 from version 1.0.0.69 to 1.0.0.70 and the problem has been resolved. I can now create Visual Studio 2012 dot42 projects.
