I have developped a Jhipster project.
I need to create a new one which will be quite the same (but not the same). I would like to duplicate the first project.
The second project would just have a different name and different main package name.
Is there a way to do that properly?
Thanks
Duplicate your project folder, in new folder edit .yo-rc.json file and change name and package. You may also want to change the rememberMeKey
Delete src folder
Run jhipster --with-entities to re-generate app with new settings
Copy back from old project what you've added
Delete yo-rc.json .... and generate your new entity then every thing will be ok (Tested)

I'm facing an issue with Android Studio. When I create a new project by default the project doesn't go in the AndroidStudioProject Folder.
If I try to move the project into the AndroidStudioProjects folder, while creating the project I become a lot of warnings: The following file could not be created since it already exists: gradle-wrapper.jar The following file could not be created since it already exists: gradle-wrapper.properties If you proceed the resulting project may not compile or not work as intended.
There is no default folder for saving new projects, there is only Last project location saved in your computer. So every project will be stored where last project was saved. (Unless you change location).
So, If you want to change the default location (which is technically the Last location), then you might wanted to change the location while creating a new project, and then all the succeeding projects will be saved in previously mentioned location.
Now this is what you have to do: Create a new project, point the project location to AndroidStudioProjects folder. Now, Android Studio will store every new project in that location.
Once that's done, then import all of your projects (which are outside that folder) in that folder by import an existing project.
I have an application, which is getting installed C:\ProgramFiles\RootFolder\InstallDir.
I have another application which is also getting installed in same root folder , eg:
C:\ProgramFiles\RootFolder\InstallDirofAnotherApp.
Here when I am trying to reinstall my application, it is deleting the entire Root Folder, It doesn't mind about the another installation of the other one.
So, it is deleting C:\ProgramFiles\RootFolder
Is there any setting to do like that? This is a legacy project and I am new to this. Unable to fine the cause
Thanks,
Nanda
What type of projects are these applications (basic MSI, or InstallScript)? Check [INSTALLDIR] (General Information -> INSTALLDIR) in both packages; if these properties are different, see if there is any custom action that perhaps delete some files/directories.
When I create a jhipster thru eclipse plugin, I get src/model/Model.jdl
However this file is not available when I create the project thru online page, https://start.jhipster.tech/#/generate-application.
Did I miss can option while creating this project?
If you have the jdl for the User and Authority, kindly post the same. I am curious to know if authority.name is an enum. If so, how can I add few more entries to that list.
There's no JDL for User and Authority because they are not generated by the entity sub generator. I don't use Eclipse so I can't say how this Model.jdl file was created but you can easily create it from command line in your project directory by running jhipster export-jdl src/model/Model.jdl
I created a new Meteor project in WebStorm and it generated hello.html file which is the default page of the app, and hello.js file.
Now the thing is that I don't want these files to be named "Hello". How can I change the default/initial files of Meteor?
I searched references for these files in the project but I didn't find anyone, meaning that they are not defined hard coded.
Any help will be profoundly appreciated!
Edit: I just found out that I can name the initial file when I create a new Meteor project in WebStorm. I'd rather change it in the current project than creating a new one though. Is this possible?
if you create new project in command line then running meteor create appName will generate files appName.js, appName.html and appName.css
in general, it does not matter what are the file names in meteor. Naming starts to matter a bit more once you start organising files into folders, but for a start you can ignore that.
I'm trying to make a JHipster project from scratch. I've done this before, but for some reason it's not working anymore. When I go to my console, navigate to a blank folder and use "yo jhipster" it responds with:
"This is an existing project, using the configuration from your .yo-rc.json file
to re-generate the project..."
The thing I don't understand is why it's giving me this message for a brand new project in a completely blank folder that has been untouched by JHipster thus far. Anyone know where this is coming from?
Thanks.
Probably you have a problem in your app.jh
I had the same problem when I try to change de language.
Try to set de default options first and then change it. Remember to remove the .yo-rc.json file first.
