Render outcome of "action" attribute? - jsf

i want to completely rewrite a <h:commandButton> renderer. Now i'm stuck at rendering the "action" attribute of the button. Is there a possibility to render this attribute the same way it gets rendered by the standard renderer ? Is there a possibility to retrieve the generated script from somewhere ? Furthermore i don't want to use third party libs, if possible.
Thanks in advance !

As always, BalusC was right. There is no generated Javascript.
But there was another thing i forgot about. One needs to add the following code: button.queueEvent(new ActionEvent(button)); in the decode method of the according component renderer, where "button" is the UIComponent parameter of the "decode" method.
Thanks a lot BalusC !

JSF: Is there a way to bind method to h:outputLink?

I am working on something like this:
A JSF template has a side-navigation bar which contains links(either anchor or h:outputLink), and there are cases where two options lead to the same link(page), but with a different value in view parameter, and thus rendering different data being displayed on the page.
Is there a way to do this? Using commandLink or commandButton does not seem like an option to me since it will mess up the styling.
Thanks in advance.
An output link is just a normal HTML link, so a conventional way to do this is with a query parameter, e.g. /contentarea.xhtml?myparam=value.
I don't think you should bind a method to the output link. That would involve a Javascript onclick handler (commandLink), and I don't think that's necessary here. That said, I'm surprised you say commandLink messes with the styling, as it renders a normal HTML link.

JSF Compound Rendered Attribute Not Working

I'm trying to modify a condition in a rendered attribute but for some reason it doesn't want to cooperate, and unfortunately I'm not entirely familiar with EL.
When I try the code like this, it works, and the element is rendered or not appropriately:
rendered = "#{!(bean.boolOne) or (bean.boolTwo)}"
But when I try it like this, the page I'm trying to view doesn't even show
rendered = "#{!(bean.boolOne) or (bean.boolOne and bean.boolTwo)}"
I didn't think I changed that much to make it break, but if anyone could provide some insight I'd be grateful!

Is it possible to dynamically generate the <f:validateBean> tag?

I am dynamically generating some Primefaces input and output components, and I need to be able to disable validation on these components in certain use cases, while still updating the model. (Like a save button). It looks like the proper way to do that in xhtml would be to use <f:validateBean disabled="#{myBean.someCondition}/>
However, I cannot figure out how to create this component dynamically. I searched through the javax.faces package and could not find any validateBean component. I thought maybe it would be a property that I need to set on the UIInput component, but none of the methods outlined in that API seem to what I need.
Is this possible?
Edit:
As a reference, here is the component I am creating:
UIInput input = new InputText();
input.setId(field.getFieldKey());
input.setValueExpression("value", expressionFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, field.getFieldValue(), String.class));
input.addClientBehavior("blur", ajaxBehavior);
input.addValidator(new BeanValidator());
You might want to explore these paths :
Set immediate to true on your input.
input.setImmediate(true);
Extend BeanValidator with an empty validate method and pass an instance to your input.
input.addValidator(new DummyBeanValidator());
Hope this helps.

How to set struts ActionForm attributes using <html:link>?

I need to do the thing like this (setting ActionForm attribute):
<html:form action="Link.do?method=editNews">
<html:hidden property="idNews" value="${news.newsMessage.idNews}" />
<html:submit value="EDIT"/>
</html:form>
But in <html:link> or regular a-href tag. So I don't want this parameter to apear in my link as a request parameter. Is it possible?
P.S. idNews is the parameter in my ActionForm class and it has setter and getter.
No, it's not possible. A link performs a GET request, and the only way for a GET request to send information to the server is to use request parameters, which appear in the URL.
The only thing you can do is to have your link invoke a JavaSCript function which submits a hidden form using POST. But it's ugly.
Why do you fear by making the parameter visible in the URL? Are you aware that anybody can view the source of your HTML page and see the hidden field here?

How to change the pictures related to links in JSF?

I have links and pictures related to these links on my page. I want to change the pictures everytime when onmouseover event occurred in the links. I want to do this in JSF.
A lot of Thanks to everyone.
You are looking specifically for JSF to do it, or you are open to other Javascript frameworks that provide a slick and easy solution on this? For example Jquery and Dojo etc may be easy to incorporate in your application and will give Rich UI effects.
On the other hand if you are looking at JSF specifically for these UI effects than probably I can try to think of some ways and let you know.
JSF isn't designed directly to do this; It's designed to give you the tools to do this yourself. In order to do this you would need to create a custom JSF component to do this and you would use Java script to do it.
You could possibly find a JSF framework that does this already (a4j, IceFaces, etc.) but this is such a simple and well documented JavaScript thing that just tossing a little Java script among your JSF is perfectly acceptable. However, if you don't want to reinvent the wheel, take a look at those other options.
Javascript solution:
Define onmouseover event on the commandLink tag calling some kind of javascript you may give link address from like onmouseover="doSomething('addressOfImage')" then in doSomething javascript method, first find the image, then set src attribute of a default image to given address.
JSF Solution:
You might want to use a4j for this.
Add a4j:support to link for onmouseover event then just rerender graphicImage component ofcourse you need to give value of graphicImage dynamically. There is an example of using a4j support below. You can add this a4j:support between your link tags for mouseonover event. Then manage everything on backing bean to handle which image to be displayed.
example
<h:graphicImage id="imageToBeRendered" value="#{myBean.imageAddress}"/>
Just google a4j if you have no idea.
