I stopped the installation of package abruptly in sdk manager in Linux. Thereafter the window does not open - linux

I am using Android Studio in Ubuntu 14.4 lts. While installing certain packages through Sdk Manager, i stopped them, as i realized i didn't need them. After which i could not open the sdk manager altogether.
I tried running it from Android-Studio,
I tried running it from the terminal by entering the installed android folder then Sdk/tools and executing ./android as well as ./android sdk
I tried separately downloading stand-alone sdk tools and tried running it , but that didn't help too
I found such problems already dealt but in Windows, there the path is edited or the java_exe is set.
But i dint find any useful suggestion in case of Linux.
I am finding things really helpless by now. Please help!

Cannot uninstall / repair / install Node.JS to my system

I installed node.js to work on a discord bot with VSCode but it didn't work.
I reinstalled it but ticked the 'install chocolatey' box this time, halfway through the installation I got 3 trojan alerts from my AV, and cancelled the installation.
Since then, I have been unable to uninstall, repair or reinstall Node.JS, through the Windows 10 uninstall function or from the Node.JS .msi file.
Each time I try, I get the same error message:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed."
I've removed all instances of Node.JS from my program files and %appdata%, I've ensure the Installer Service is running, and yet the Node.JS application still shows in the Uninstall Tool and when I try to uninstall / modify / reinstall, it shows the same error, and seems to think it's still installed on my system! Not even Node.JS commands work in my CMD!
I've got no idea how to fix this, and I don't want to use glitch anymore to write my bot, so please help- or it seem's I'll have to factory reset my PC and hope that resolves the issue.
Thanks in advance, guys.
Godspeed.
EDIT: I tried installing a newer version hoping it would overwrite old Node.JS files. Didn't work. Issue still occurring.
Do these:
Open command prompt as Administrator and run /sfc scannow. It will scan and replace corrupted files.
Restart your PC when the scan is done.

vscode crashes on Arch linux when opening file/folder

Installation vscode
I'm running Arch Linux (Manjaro) and installed vscode with:
sudo pacman -S code
but then a simple .NET core program resulted in
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may only use the Microsoft .NET Core Debugger (clrdbg) with Visual Studio
Code, Visual Studio or Visual Studio for Mac software to help you develop and
test your applications.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems like the official Microsoft build should be obtained via the snap store:
sudo snap install code --classic
And the program looks normal. I can install plug-ins, create a new file et cetera.
Problem
However, I cannot open any files or projects. Doing so results in vscode crashing. I read that code --disable-gpu could solve this problem, but doesn't do so for me.
Any ideas
what may cause this crash?
or how to get the pacman vscode working?

I had the same issue trying to get the debugger to work and I spent hours on finding the reason for this. What I found out is that the debugger only works with officially signed Microsoft binaries of VSCode. So you have to make a distinction here:
The package code contains the open source version of visual studio code, a build wich anyone can make using the provided sources by Microsoft. The program which you get here is therefore not signed by MS!
The package visual-studio-code-bin provided by the AUR contains a officially signed version by MS. If you use this package, the debugger works as expected.
I do not know wether snap - which I personally never used at all - provides this kind of package, so I can not tell anything about that, but using the said package from the user repository solved the problem for me reliably.
Try this one (which I installed just yesterday under the recent manjaro distribution and it worked fine) and see if this solves your problem with opening files and folders.

Haxe 3.4.0 installer used 'haxelib version' still reflects 3.3.0

I wanted to use Visual Studio Code for HaxeFlixel development and the Haxe extension noted that I needed Haxe 3.4.0. I went ahead and downloaded the new installer from the website and installed it on my laptop running Windows 10. However after installing it turned out that calling 'haxelib version' in the command prompt it still returned 3.3.0.
I tried rebooting. Uninstalling then rebooting and installing again. I could find nothing in the system environmental variables that could cause it. Tried updating the Haxe on my Desktop, and had the same issue. Which is running windows 8.1 on it.
Does someone know what might be the cause? Thank you for your time in advance.
To check the Haxe version, use haxe -version. haxelib is a separate application and can have a version number that's different from the compiler's version.
Haxelib 3.3.0 appears to be the version shipped with Haxe 3.4.0-rc.1.

Android Studio HAXM update issues

Android Studio 2.1.3
I can't seem to update HAXM. Every time I open the AVD, it gives me the following error message:
Virtual machine acceleration driver out-of-date
It then gives me a button to "Reinstall Haxm". Clicking that leads to an installation screen where I can choose the RAM allocation, where I hit Next and it starts installing. I then see it start installing and an extracting dialog flash up and disappear immediately:
It then finishes and says it was updated successfully, but then I hit Finish and it wants me to update again.
I've ensured Hyper-V isn't enabled and that virtualization is enabled in the BIOS. I've also tried installing it manually, and that looks like it all works successfully. And yet, no change in behavior by Android Studio. I have also seen this solution and tried it, with no success.
I can run the ARM EABI v7a emulators; just not the x86 ones. The ARM ones are so slow they're almost unusable, so I'd really like to find a way to fix this!
This machine does have VMWare vSphere installed on it, which is used on a regular basis. Could that be why this is happening?
First a warning. If you have a really old version of HAXM installed, follow their instructions to uninstall the old version before installing the new one.
Before installing latest HAXM, the previous versions from 1.1.4 and
below must be uninstalled using:
sudo /System/Library/Extensions/intelhaxm.kext/Contents/Resources/uninstall.sh
The Intel HAXM installation instructions are confusing and outdated, but this part is correct:
once you have installed the package, the status will appear as
‘Installed’, which is misleading as this is not the case. The SDK
only copies the Intel HAXM executable on your machine, and it is up to
you to install the executable.
I'm using Android Studio 3.0.1 on a Mac (10.11 El Capitan) and have not seem a "Reinstall HAXM" button like you described, but when an emulator is launched I do see this in the Event Log:
Emulator: WARNING: HAXM 6.0.5 is installed. Please install HAXM >= 6.2.1 to fix compatibility issues on Mac.
In SDK Manager -> SDK Tools it says the Intel X86 Emulator Accelerator (HAXM installer) is version 6.2.1. I have updated it via the SDK Manager from previous versions several times in the past but didn't realize the update was not complete.
Solution on Windows: Find the IntelHAXM.exe file and run it.
It might be at C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\extras\Intel\Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager\IntelHaxm.exe
Solution on Mac: Find the .dmg file, open it, and double-click on the .mpkg file inside to start the actual installation. It will say the software is already installed. Press OK -> Continue -> Install to "re-install" it (meaning actually to install the newer version).
In my case the .dmg file was found at Users/{username}/Library/Android/sdk/extras/intel/Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager/IntelHAXM_6.2.1.dmg

Set version Info does not exist error after installing MSBuild Extension Pack for DotNetNuke module creation

The PC at work finally kicked the bucket and I needed to install MSBuild Extension Pack on my new PC so that I could continue creating DNN modules for my website. For whatever reason after I install it, I am getting the same error as if it is not installed
Set version Info does not exist in project c:\users\...
Here is what I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling
Restarting computer and VS several times
Starting new project and trying to build it (gives same error)
Looking online for documentation and/or videos on how to install this properly (no luck)
My current version of windows is win7 x64 and the version of DotNetNuke that I am creating modules on is DNN 6.2.5. The version of MSBuild I have installed is 3.5.14 and 4.0.11. I am using VisualStudio 2012.
Did I miss a step in installation? Should I have used Community tasks?
After several restarts (and several rinse and repeat of the above 'tried' list), I installed MSBuild.Community.Tasks.v1.4.0.00.msi. After installing this my module template was able to build the project without error. Unfortunately, due to lack of documentation I do not know if you need both the extension pack AND community tasks in order for this to work, only that community was necessary in this case. For this reason I will leave the extension pack installed for now.
