I need to open the Jint solution downloaded from here :

(i've downloaded the zip with all the files, later i decompressed them and then i try to open the solution's file using visual studio)
Visual Studio (both 2012 Express and 2013 Express) tell me that the main project is not compatibile, i have tried Microsoft Visual Studio Version Selector but still not working.
Anybody can tell me why this happen and how i can open and view that solution with all its projects properly loaded?

After doing some research and spending hours banging my head against the wall, I figured out how to resolve the issue.
You have to install Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012.
Open up the Web Platform Installer and if you don’t have it installed, download and install it. Search for Office Developer Tools and install it.
This will enable you to open the project without any issue.
Usually you can open VS2010 SP1 files in VS2012. But after opening and on compiling you may get some errors of missing packages. Then you have to install the missing packages. Check this out: Visual Studio 2012 compatibilty.
Some solutions, projects, files, and other assets that you created in Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) will run without modification in Visual Studio 2012, but others have to be upgraded. The above document describes how various kinds of assets behave in these two versions of Visual Studio.
If you use both Visual Studio 2012 and Visual Studio 2010 SP1, you can create and modify projects and files in either version as long as you don't add features that require Visual Studio 2012.
VS2012 may convert projects when you first open them, but the changes are (except noted in the document linked) backward compatible with VS2010.
I need to be able to open a project with MonoDevelop, work on it, save it, and then open the same project with Visual Studio 2012, work on that as well, save the changes, and open with MonoDevelop again.
How would I go about doing something like that? Is there some way to export a MonoDevelop project to Visual Studio?
MonoDevelop uses the same project and solution file format as Visual Studio so you should be able to switch between the two.
If in doubt use version control for your files then you can easily undo any changes.
I have installed windows live sdk to my visual studio 2012 .I tried to add quick reference javascript library in visual studio . I have tried following methord described in blog

Go to github and simply download the PhoneGap master .zip
In that zip are project files for window phone, etc platform... just use those templates.
I have visual studio express 2012
and it was working fine earlier I had run my solution once. But now when I do it, there appears a dialog box with the message!

I started to see this on the fresh windows & VS 2013 Ultimate with Update 2 installation.
To resolve the problem, close all Visual Studio instances head over to
C:\Users\<your users name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\ComponentModelCache
and delete all the files in the folder.
It worked fine for me. Thanks to this article.
Not relevant to VS 2012 express, but I experienced this problem with VS 2013 Premium. I had recently added the productivity power tools extension. To get back up and running, I loaded Visual Studio in safe mode:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE>devenv /safemode
And un-installed the productivity tools. The errors went away.
You need to clear the ComponentModelCache folder or rename it. For Visual Studio 2013, it’s located in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0 folder.

I had Visual Studio 2013 Professional and I got the same error. I couldn't remove it until I repaired VS installation. It took a while but now it works fine.
I had this problem as I had an older version of VS2012 Express (release on Web Platform installer dated 15/08/2012).
Try installing 'Visual Studio 2012 Express for Web (Latest)' with release date 22/10/2012 from the Microsoft Web Platform Installer.
That is all I did and I no longer get those messages.
We developed an application in visual studio 2010 and reports are working fine, when we choose to open the same application through visual studio 2012 Ultimate, reports are not working and when i open .rpt file showing binary format ad also I could not find Crystalreport.rpt in Reporting template in visual studio 2012. After googling it, I have installed
CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_5 , but doesn't work.
How can i change or edit .rpt file design using visual studio 2012 and want to change the .rpt database name too. Any suggestion or idea to achieve this?
I had the same problem after installing visual studio 2012 and found no answer on the forums. I uninstalled CR yesterday and downloaded again the CRForVS 13.0.5 from here just in case there was a bug in the previous version I downloaded in may and installed it. Then I installed update 3 for Visual studio and everything works fine now.

I figure this one out for me.
From SAP Crystal Reports's download site:
Please note: To integrate "SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft > Visual Studio" you must run the Install Executable. Running the MSI will not ? >fully integrate Crystal Reports into VS. MSI files by definition are for runtime >distribution only.
By default Windows 10 does not install the 3.5 framework, CR for VS still needs >it. Select it by "Turn Windows feature on or off" and choose both options.
I downloaded the exe, instead of the MSI packages, and it worked for me finally. Helps to read I guess.
