I wonder if there a way to save text direction default- right to left (RTL) or vise versa (left to right-LTR) in different web pages. So when i open specific web site the text direction will be automatically LTR or RTL. I use google chrome so i tried to search in the properties and didn't find any option to save text direction default. I red change text direction of textbox automatically and How can I automatically set text direction based on input text language? and other questions and search in my windows xp Language preference but didn't find what i'm looking for.
Thanks in advance for any help.
UPDATE:
I'm using a program called "Lang Over 5" that changed text orientation using "F10" button. But i can't save default text orientation in web sites with it.
It likely cannot be done for different webpages/sites unless someone has created an add-on module that I'm unaware of. Here are two options that you can do, however:
1) Use two different browsers, set each to the proper language settings that you want.
2) If you are set on using Chrome for both, you may be able to run multiple instances as is shown here: http://blog.buddywork.com/post/15839021578/how-to-run-multiple-instances-of-chrome

How do you change the text within the extension library dialog box? No matter what I do, the text remains the same size. I can see the font change in the designer cleint but not in the browser. I tried looking at it with IE Developer Tools but I can't even see the text anywhere.
I have no idea what was going on yesterday but it just wasn't working. I was simply trying to set the text size of a computed field inside a dialog box. I changed the font size in the properties of the computed field and seems to work now, We have seen these issues on our dev server before.
I am not sure if you can change the text with text options but you can if you use HTML, and it should also work with CSS.
Standard <h1><h2><h... oh you get the idea works for me.
Iwould like to add a button at the end of a listView in the same way as the bing apps do (see picture for example).
I looked for hours in google and in the microsoft documentation but canøt find anything that can give me an idea of how to do this.
Did anyone achieved this?
thanks
If you run that app (Health & Fitness), then run Visual Studio and use Debug > Attach to Process, you can open the DOM Explorer and examine how that UI is implemented.
What you'll see in this case is that it's not using a ListView at all, but rather it's own custom control that's just based on a CSS grid. That is, just because there's a grid-like view doesn't mean it's a ListView. You can always use straight HTML/CSS layout to achieve these sorts of things, which is all that's happening here. As such, it just makes separate div's for those two "More" elements.
Now if you do want to use a ListView, there are a few things you can do. First of all, if you want to render any item in a ListView differently than others, you have to make sure to use a different template. What this means is that you use an item rendering function rather than a declarative template, which then enables you to examine the item data and programmatically decide what kind of rendering to perform.
Second, if you want to have items of different sizes, then you need to use cell spanning. In Windows 8.0/WinJS 1.0 this is a property of the GridLayout. In Windows 8.1/WinJS 2.0 you instead use the CellSpanningLayout.
I have all the details for both rending functions and cell spanning written up in Chapter 7 of my second edition preview of Programming Windows Store Apps with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which is a free ebook from Microsoft Press so it doesn't cost you anything. :)
So I'm building a tool that allows a user to edit a whole bunch of preferences for various things. There are several groups of settings, too many to use a TabControl without creating arrow sliders to view all of the tabs, so I decided I would try and use a ListBox to list the groups of preferences, and then when they click on them, the settings that they can change show up to the right of the box.
I'm just not sure how to do this. Obviously it would invoke something in the OnSelectionChanged function of the ListBox, but I'm not sure where to go from there. Surely a dialog can have dynamic design, right? Would I mimic the creation of a tabbed-dialog where I create my designs and then bind them to the TabControl, and just do something similar for the ListBox? Again, it's not the ListBox itself that is dynamic. The user will click on "Settings A" from the ListBox, and to the right of the ListBox will be settings 1, 2, and 3 that each have textboxs/radios/checks.
Any hints on how I can accomplish this? I just think it looks nicer than having a whole bunch of tabs lined up across the top of the box. Thanks in advance to any brilliant minds who can help me out. I'm versed in C++, but I'm very much a beginner at VC++.
You can a vertical splitter with two panes:
one which contains the list
another one which contains the configuration dialogs you would normally use in a tab control
Each time the list selection changes you can load the appropriate dialog in the right pane. You can find a splitter tutorial here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/wtl/wtl4mfc7.aspx
I'm trying to create a program where i can select the input boxes on website and list them into a listbox. i can use the C and delphi language but neither of them i can do this. I'm not trying to make a whole new browser, but just want to be able to do this. In a way it is like, when google chrome puts an orange box around the input boxes. it recognizes that it is a box you can type in. How do i recognize with a program what text box i have selected with my mouse? thx :)
You should look into GreaseMonkey for firefox. It allows you to run custom javascript on web sites, allowing you to transform pretty much whatever you want on the page.

I'm working with Dreamweaver CS3. The question here is what part of the code (listed below) do I need to replicate to have my secondary nav bar utilize the on-click action?
FYI...DW has two menu options or auto insert items...one for roll over images and one for "navbar". DW will only allow you to use the 'navbar' item once per page
the nav bar option builds all the rollover actions for you (listed below)
the "rollover" option ONLY builds normal and over, but no click
I guess I really have two questions...the first is what part of the code do I need to insert manually, the second is what does the "MM_nbGroup" code mean?
"../photogallery.html" target="_top" onClick="MM_nbGroup('down','group1','photoMainNav','../images/buttons/photography_down.gif',1)"
onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','photoMainNav','../images/buttons/photography_over.gif','../images/buttons/photography_over.gif',1)" onMouseOut="MM_nbGroup('out')"><img src="../images/buttons/photography.gif"
Thanks for any help on this in advance!
For anyone wondering the same thing, here's what I've found so far...
The 'insert' bar provided in DWCS3 doesn't allow for two 'inserted' menu bars on one page. However, the 'Behaviors' palette will allow you to add effective roll-overs with the "Set Nav Bar Image" option. Unfortunately (as far as I can tell) DWCS3 is not as smart as Adobe's GoLive was, in that it won't automatically fill in the appropriate items if you name your files correctly. Even still, you should name your images accordingly (xxx_over, xxx_down, etc) to keep it straight in your own head.
As for the MM_nbGroup question, best I can tell this is WYSIWYG code that ships with DWCS3 (the kind of stuff that really mifs some of you developers, sorry guys), as it names items by group # and doesn't seem to have any real relevance in the lexicon of html. I could be mistaken on this however, and am open to enlightenment on the topic if anyone can offer.
