I have a text in the front-end which I can't locate it in the back-end.
Is there a way to search or to figure it out?
To be more specific there is a text which I wrote it some time ago but I can't find in which component belongs. There are no articles at all and it's not in the component that is assigned to this menu item.
With the limited information you've provided there's very little specifics we could provide. As is, we don't know if the text is in the database, the code or even part of a language definition. In addition, the text could be the result of your web server being compromised. If there are ads for Viagra and other stuff skating up this is midst likely the issue.
You can use any flavor MySQL client to search to see if stored in the database.
To search the code, use your IDE search functionality. If your not using an IDE, download Notepad++ and install, once launched hit + F to open search utility. There is a tab to search all files from a specific directory root, use this to search for the text.
Although the search will find a language override, you should not edit core files, but there is a tool to override core language definitions in Joomla's backend.
Good luck!

I am prototyping a Shopware App right now, where I want to extend the search with our search API. We already have a working plugin in the store for that.
I found those two references for hooks:
https://developer.shopware.com/docs/resources/references/app-reference/webhook-events-reference
https://developer.shopware.com/docs/resources/references/app-reference/script-reference/script-hooks-reference
Seems like there is no webhook for the search at all and just a script-hook for a finished search. In the plugin, we could just extend the ProductSearchRoute and be completely flexible.
Are search extension not planned right now?
Cheers,
Tobias
I assume you want to alter the criteria for fetching the products. As of today this is not yet possible with non-self-hosted apps. You could use the app scripts to enrich or replace the contents of an already loaded page as you already mentioned. Obviously that comes with some drawbacks regarding performance. The capabilities of apps are being enhanced continuously though so there's chance search manipulation might become possible rather soon.
I want to create a website which consists of videos which will be uploaded by the admin and many useful information which all will be uploaded by an admin.
I have got the domain name, remote LAMP server.
I have gone through many tutorials and I tired creating using Drupal 8. Website was fine but while creating a new existing module the whole thing got crashed and I don't want to goback and recover it since it is a big mess.
So I want to try from first keeping it very simple.
Kindly guide me to achieve this. I will put all my effort to learn it.
Any help any documents which will help me to create will be greatly accepted.
I am beginner in C++, html. Can you guys let me know how can I achieve in creating a website.
You can find your answer here on your own:
So there are various languages that are being used in the web that perform various purposed and hence you can choose what functionality do you need in your website and according to that you can write the code in that language.
Lets take a quick look at some of the most widely used languages of the web:
1: HTML
This is a Markup Language which can be used basically just for writing the content and displaying on your webpage. You can create too many pages and link them to form a website.
2: CSS
This language helps you design your webpage and thus makes your webpage look way too better. A site only written in html in not preferrable.
3: JavaScript
This language is a scripting language that helps you do various cool stuff like handling input events (like click, hover, etc), change the content of your webpage dynamically, bring popups , etc.
4: PHP
This scripting language is also being widely used as this lets you work with the forms and submit to a database. In fact, if you learn this language you can write the logic behind your own facebook and you can give it a face using HTML, CSS.
Once you are done learning all these languages, you can now learn some of the cool libraries like:
Bootstrap (for css, js)
Jquery (Javascript)
Say, I want to develop an alternative spellcheck module to google docs.
This means that I have to get corrections from my backend, and color the misspelled text's background, and do a small popup bubble when user hovers over it, where I'd display the correction. (please mind that spellcheck is not the actual goal of my project, but it does address my problems in a more simplified way)
What are my options? Any ideas how to do this?
Few possible solutions I came up with:
Chrome extension vs Apps script
Chrome extension
pros: user has to grant permissions once, can freely traverse and append anything to dom via content script
cons: is a "hacky" way, if google changes classnames or js source, it would stop working, and also, reverse engineering google docs's editor engine is impossible
Apps script
pros: supported by google: if it works, I dont need to be afraid of docs updates
cons: it seems to me that I can't just fiddle with the dom (because of Caja compiler), has very limited support (if any) for custom highlighting or hover functionality.
As I see it, neither of these are perfect solutions for this project. What do you think? Any suggestions are very welcomed.
I know this is an old question, but I have recently gotten into the same problem, and believe I have a solution. So for future Googler's I will post my answer here.
My solution was to create a Chrome Extension and understand how the Google Docs DOM's are structures to interact with it.
You can find my code to work with the Google Doc DOM's here
In Apps Script you can't "fiddle" with the DOM and you won't be able to implement hover functionality. Also, a lame Highlighting would involve changing the current document itself (which would go to revision history, undo queue, etc)
Therefore, your only altertive is the Chrome Extension. But I agree with you on the cons. It is a super hard task that could break at any minute without notice.
YUI user guides are really nice, please visit http://yuilibrary.com/yui/docs/event/ for example,I just wanna write documents like that. My question is: these documents were generated by some tools like Dockbook,Sphix or written by hand?
The YUI User Guides are generated from Mustache templates using a tool called Selleck. Selleck is a Node.js tool that generates pages from different templates based on the information provided in a component.json file and a predefined folder structure. One of the coolest features of this tool is that it has a --server mode which runs a local web server in which you can see the changes you made live by just refreshing the page.
You can check it out at http://yui.github.com/selleck/.
I built a website which runs on localhost and is pretty big by now. What are the tools for indexing and searching my offline website ? For example if my website is placed in the directory c:\mywebsite\ , i just want to submit this directory to the indexing software/tool and then it should work something like Google. I want it to be functional even when I'm not connected to the internet and preferably should be lightweight.
Why not try a desktop indexing software instead?
See SD Source Code Search Engine. This will index your website, using the language types of the various web files (HTML, PHP, JavaScript, ...) and allow you to search using the langauge structures to your advantage, e.g., "find all identifiers named FOO" (which will only match against identifiers, not strings or comments).
