Google Chrome not allowing access to media device - security

I have noticed on some computers with google chrome, the option to allow access to the users media device (webcam or microphone) is not enabled. However I am speaking more to getting chrome to even prompt the user to 'allow'. Personally, my chrome Version 42.0.2311.90 (64-bit) works great. However, I have encountered others unable to even see the popup box to allow/block.
This is what shows:
However, on those computers in question, even after setting this option to 'ask for access', the browser when the page is refreshed does not record this option and just returns to the option to 'continue blocking'. Even inside of he advanced privacy settings, the option to ask for access is selected. Is there a security setting in the browser that needs to be set?

Force open a shared SharePoint list link in a browser on a mobile device

I have a SharePoint list that I would like to share with external users, some might not have a Microsoft 365 account. I have created the link so anyone have access to the list. The link works great in a browser on a laptop when I open in a private browser.
I then generate a QR code for this link. When I scan the QR code on an iOS mobile device it force open in the Microsoft Lists app. It then says "Permission Required - You don't have permission to view this list".
I then tried to open the link in a browser on an iOS mobile device and that worked fine.
So the question is. How do I force the link to open in a browser instead of the Microsoft Lists app?
I have tried to append "web=1" to the link but that doesn't change anything.
If you’re using an iPhone, there are a few different ways to open links in your browser of choice instead of in the default app. One way is to long press on the link (this works in most apps), which will bring up a menu with the option to “Open in Safari.” You can also change your default browser settings so that all links automatically open in Safari or another browser.

This site can’t be reached ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED on all websites hosted in IIS

These websites were working before and suddenly after a restart of my AWS Workspaces these websites are returning below error on all browsers. I have re-installed IIS and also deleted the files from C:\inetpub\history. When i run the same website from Visual Studio it works but the url would be like http://localhost:29740.
This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at http://localhost/xxx might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED
Are you using chrome browser? there are many reasons for this error, such as the website or service you are trying to access does not support the SSLv3 protocol (Secure Socket Layer Version 3 Protocol), some third-party program like your antivirus or an extension install on to your browser might be interrupting your connection to the website.
Before trying any fixes, try to access the same website from a different browser and preferably a different connection. Try to access the website from the browser in Incognito mode may help too. But if you still encounter this error, here is what you can do to fix it.
Disable SSLv3 in Google Chrome:
First, add a Chrome shortcut to the desktop, then right-click the Chrome desktop shortcut, select Properties, and click the Shortcut tab as below.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –ssl-version-min=tls1
Disable Antivirus and Firewall
In the System tray on the right corner of your taskbar, right-click on the icon of your Antivirus and then click on the option that refers to disabling your antivirus protection temporarily. If prompted, set the duration of antivirus to be disabled as per your choice. You may temporarily disable Windows Defender in you use iton Windows 10.
Now, you can check if your issue is resolved or not. Additionally, you can disable your Windows Firewall protection too. This is due to the fact that the Windows Firewall monitors and authorizes or denies and inward or outward connection from your computer.
Now, you can check again if your issue is resolved or not.
Reset Google Chrome
To reset Chrome browser, make sure that Google Chrome is not running anywhere in the background using the Task Manager. Now, hit the WINKEY + R combinations to open Run and then navigate to the following path,
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
Now, select the folder named as Default and hit the Shift + Delete button combinations and then click on Yes for the confirmation prompt you get.
After deleting the Default folder, open Google Chrome and click on the Menu button denoted by three verticle dots in the top right corner. Then, click on Settings. In the Settings section, scroll down and click on Advanced to reveal the Advanced Settings.
Now, scroll down to the Restore Settings to their original defaults button and click on it.Click on Reset, and this will reset your Google Chrome browser. Now check if you issue is fixed or not.
Reinstall Google Chrome
If all the methods that are mentioned above do not work properly, the last and the ultimate fix would be reinstalling Google Chrome.

Microphone permission for firefox browser addons/extension

Recently working on a browser extensions which needs microphone access. Was able to make it work on chrome no problem with that. However firefox seems not working as expected.
Upon installation we are prompting for mic access firefox allow it temporarily. Tried to allow it manually no luck. media.navigator.permission.disabled to true is working but that not an option cause in future no prompt will be there to allow or block the access.
Extension structure...
content.js
background.js (Which requires the access)
popup.js (from where looking for the access)
Is there any way to gain microphone access for firefox addons/extension?
Thanks for your help.

Can my chrome extension open a link in a different profile?

I use two different Chrome profiles (users) on my laptop: one for my work stuff and one for my personal browsing.
Sometimes I click a link from HipChat and it opens it in the personal profile even though it's for work (e.g. login.work.com). (This is because I happen to have been in my personal chrome window most recently.)
I'd like to make a chrome extension I can install in my personal profile to match the URLs of *.work.com and send these over to the work profile window.
I haven't found a way to open a url into a different profile. Anyone know of a way?
(A hacky idea I got from reading https://superuser.com/a/289618 is maybe I could shell out to something along the lines of google-chrome --user-data-dir=$work_profile, but I'd be happier if there was a JS API and I didn't have to ask permission to run programs on the user's computer.)
Dropping an answer in case it's still useful to anyone.
I built my chrome extension CopyTabs (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/copytabs/obkbjogekcjalnaebheboejhfkamadkg) to do something similar. It is able to open links, current tabs, selected tabs or windows, in the current chrome user profile, another chrome user profile or another browser entirely.
I made use of chrome.exe --profile-directory="profileName" to open URLs in a selected profile, but this has a handler that runs on the user's machine, with profileName being the internal name of the chrome profile, for example --profile-directory="Profile1" instead of --profile-directory="My Name As Profile".
So to answer your question, no I don't think there's anyway around a local handler on the user's machine to achieve this functionality.
Though the question is an old one but maybe someone is looking for an answer.
In the new versions of chrome when you right click on a link, in the pop-up menu, there is an option to open the link in another profile. For this to work, ofcourse, there need to be multiple user profiles in Chrome.
Works like a charm!
Hope it helps.
There is no solution for this. It would need a handler, a separate program, that captures the URL before it reaches Chrome, parses your preferences for which URLs go to which profile and then starts the specified Chrome installation with specified profile flags.
However, afaik, such a program does not exist (at least on Windows).
Further, Chrome cannot even select which profile out of many is selected, when Chrome is started from the OS "call URL to be opened" function and NOT started by user-activated clicking on a Chrome application shortcut (with specific profile selection instructions).
Naturally, the latter works 100% wonderfully on Firefox, which has built-in profile selector after the browser has been started, and regardless of which method was used to start Firefox (user click on Firefox icon or OS pipe of "open URL" to Firefox).
So; no solution in Chrome.
I believe that Account Surfer should be able to do the things that you're looking for. Here's an overview from Windows store:
Quickly switch between accounts and browsers with Account Surfer.
Decide what account or browser to use when opening the link.

Can the Lotus Notes Browser remember standard webpage login credentials?

We have a client who uses a website we have created. The requires the standard username/password combination to access site contents.
In IE, FF and Chrome the browser offers to remember the login credentials, but our client is using some built in Lotus Notes browser and it doesn't seem to offer this service. Since the Lotus Notes browser seems to be a wrapper on IE, it might be sufficient to clear the login-cache in the browser.
Our client is not a superuser in any way and we do not have access to a Lotus Notes system. We don't want to clear the login-cache in the browser if it doesn't help and causing our client to loose any existing login-credentials.
Question 1: Does anyone know if the Lotus Notes browser can remember login credentials?
If yes:
Question 2: Can anyone confirm that clearing the login-cache in the browser force it to offer to remember the login credentials?
I'm using R6.0.4, so this is definitely outdated, but I do not get a prompt to save a password. It's possible a newer version offers that capability, but my guess is IBM is investing very little in making the wrapped IE browser or the Notes-internal browser work much better.
As an alternative, Notes can be set to use Internet Explorer or Firefox as its browser when it launches links. That can be managed in the location document. In v6, that can be edited by clicking the location name in the bottom status bar, and then selecting "Edit Current..." In there you can select what internet browser is being used.
If there's a need to maintain that setting on the user's notes client, then another work around is to create a duplicate of his/her primary location document (usually the Office one), and change it say "Office - Firefox" for example. That location document can have all the same settings except the browser preference. Then when they need to work on the site, they can easily switch locations first.
