I've been trying to use Haxe to generate C# code that calls methods from a dll written in C++/CLR. This dll is called "AudioClientSDK.dll"
Here is an example of the Haxe code I'm trying:
package hello;
class HelloWorld {
static public function main():Void {
var s = untyped __cs__("AudioClientCLR.AudioClientAPI.release()");
}
}
As you can see I'm using "Haxe magic" syntax (I previously tried Haxe extern classes that resulted pretty much in the same problems) to directly call the release method within the AudioClientSDK.dll. The method signature inside the dll is:
public : void AudioClientCLR::AudioClientAPI::release()
However, when I try to compile this code, Haxe throws this error:
haxe -cp src -cs out/CS -main hello.HelloWorld
haxelib run hxcs hxcs_build.txt --haxe-version 3103
c:\git\HelloHaxe\src\hello\HelloWorld.hx(6,16): error CS0103: The name
'AudioClientCLR' does not exist in the current context
Compilation error
Native compilation failed
Error: Build failed
If I try to pass the AudioClientSDK.dll reference as -net-lib or -net-std I get these errors:
haxe -cp src -cs out/CS -net-lib lib/CPP/x86/AudioClientSDK.dll -main hello.HelloWorld
File "ilMetaReader.ml", line 281, characters 36-42: Assertion failed
error 0x2
haxe -cp src -cs out/CS -net-std lib/CPP/x86/AudioClientSDK.dll -main hello.HelloWorld
Error: No .NET std lib directory with the pattern 'net-20' was found in the -net-std search path. Try updating the hxcs lib to the latest version, or specifying another -net-std path.
Do any of you know how to correctly use the dll?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. These are some properties of the AudioClientSDK.dll:
Targeted framework: .NETFramework,Version=v4.0
Platform: Win32
Platform Toolset: VisualStudio 2010 (v100)
Use of MFC: Use MFC in a Shared DLL
Common Language Runtime: Common Language Runtime Support (/clr)
Also, please note that this dll can be used without problems from C# in Visual Studio.
This seems like a bug. Please report it ASAP to the haxe issue list, with a downloadable link to the offending dll, and it might get included inyo the 3.2 final release

Error when I require a Native Addon C++ from electron that works fin from Node.js
Recently I developed my first native C++ Addon for node that works fine with my node project (node version 10.15.0)
The Addon has been built using XCode, which project has been generating using CMake.
I´m having the following error when I use the same native C++ addon from my Electron app.
dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: __ZN2v816FunctionTemplate3NewEPNS_7IsolateEPFvRKNS_20FunctionCallbackInfoINS_5ValueEEEENS_5LocalIS4_EENSA_INS_9SignatureEEEiNS_19ConstructorBehaviorENS_14SideEffectTypeE

Referenced from: /Users/vicentvidal/Documents/Desarrollo/DASNet2/dasaudio/build/DASNetAddon.node
Expected in: flat namespace
As I can see the problem appears just when I call from my Electron App
const addon = require('bindings')('DASNetAddon');
which call the following C++ code
static NAN_MODULE_INIT(Init) {
v8::Local<v8::FunctionTemplate> tpl = Nan::New<v8::FunctionTemplate>(New);
tpl->SetClassName(Nan::New("StreamingWorker").ToLocalChecked());
tpl->InstanceTemplate()->SetInternalFieldCount(2);
SetPrototypeMethod(tpl, "sendToAddon", sendToAddon);
constructor().Reset(Nan::GetFunction(tpl).ToLocalChecked());
Nan::Set(target, Nan::New("StreamingWorker").ToLocalChecked(),
Nan::GetFunction(tpl).ToLocalChecked());
}
My Electron version is 3.0.10
My Nan version 2.12.1
My bindings version 1.3.1
Does anybody has any suggestion?
I'm not positive that this is the problem but it is possible that, because the function template is missing your C++ class name, the namespace is coming from somewhere else. Here's one of my Nan Init() functions. The line following the // Prepare constructor template qualifies the New argument with a class namespace.
void Metadata::Init(v8::Local<v8::Object> exports) {
Nan::HandleScope scope;
// Prepare constructor template
v8::Local<v8::FunctionTemplate> ctor = Nan::New<v8::FunctionTemplate>(Metadata::New);
constructor.Reset(ctor);
ctor->InstanceTemplate()->SetInternalFieldCount(2);
ctor->SetClassName(Nan::New("Metadata").ToLocalChecked());
// Prototype
Nan::SetPrototypeMethod(ctor, "copy", Metadata::copy);
Nan::Set(exports, Nan::New("Metadata").ToLocalChecked(), ctor->GetFunction());
}
I haven't tried running/loading in an Electron environment, nor on a Mac, so I can only say this works fine on Linux. But because your error message refers to "FunctionTemplate3New" it's a guess.
There appears to be a Ant / jni.h problem (for my setup) with LibusbJava. I get the following error when setting up LibusbJava by running
ant linux
in CentOS 6.3 as root (quick and dirty test, thanks for those concerned about user level =0). I will redo with proper restrictions as shown on a libusbjava reference after reflection when first install works. LibusbJava, is a Java wrapper for the libusb library.
The output starts out like this:
[root#somebox LibusbJava]# ant linux -lib $JAVA_HOME/include -lib $JAVA_HOME/include/linux
Buildfile: build.xml
clean:
Build LibusbJava Test Linux:
Build LibusbJava Test:
[echo] Building Library for unit tests:
[exec] /.../libusbjava/trunk/LibusbJava/LibusbJava.cpp:27:17: error: jni.h: No such file or directory
[exec] /.../libusbjava/trunk/LibusbJava/LibusbJava.cpp:34:26: error: test/CuTest.h: No such file or directory
`...`
as it was not set on my system. It appears that jni.h is a header called by C++ code, which I had to add to the LibusbJava.cpp file. This is the new include, /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64/include/jni.h. I then get an error with jni.h not being able to fine jni_md.h which is an include in jni.h #include "jni_md.h".
Clearly this is not the right approach, so perhaps I need a correct Ant reference, but I cannot seem to do it with a -lib switch. Besides, this just creates thousands of jni.h file errors during the Ant build attempt.
How can I fix this problem?
Notes: I've set$JAVA_HOME up like JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.9.x86_64 and javac and java work fine.
New discovery... after helpful questions which guided me, I am much closer to successful compilation.
When I install LibusbJava and manually install all the library references in build.xml there is still an error compiling the LibusbJava based on a memset error. I see memset patches for libusb that appeared in 2007 and it's unclear how to use or if they relate. Investigating... Hints, comments and questions welcome. My most sincere thanks for the help thus far.

but I find no referece to an include string.h or cstring. The header of Usb_Device.cpp mentions it is a C++ Stub for the java class of a java class ch.ntb.inf.libusbJava.Usb_Device. which only has this include #include "Usb_Device.h" which also does not appear to have a string include. Perhaps just insertion of#include`?
I wrote an app with luajit and lua-iup, and link my app with static libs. But I got the following error:

Am I missing some libs and any idea about this?
As far as I know, IUP's Lua bindings are partially written in Lua. That wouldn't ordinarily be a problem, except that the Lua parts are compiled into the library as pre-compiled bytecode. Lua bytecode and LuaJIT bytecode are different.
The right answer is to change IUP so that it builds with Lua source compiled in rather than bytecode. That will conceivably slow down the startup of an IUP application, but it will make it easier to cross compile IUP and make it possible to use LuaJIT instead of standard Lua.
Here is the answer form the author of IUP, hope this would be helpful to someone that met the same problem as me
It seems that you are building a console application. This means you
need a “main” function. If you try instead to build a Windows
application without a console, then IUP will implement the WinMain
function for you and call your “main” function. In both cases you need
the “main” function.
I have a Monotouch project linked to a static library containing C++ modules.
Monotouch version: 3.0.3.5
XCode version: 4.4.1
C/C++ Compiler: Apple LLVM 4.0
When building the project in debug mode for iOS simulator and iOS device everything is OK -
application is linked and runs.
However when building the release configuration for iOS device the following error appears:
Undefined symbols for architecture armv7: "___divmodsi4"
The following line from the static library code somehow causes the trouble:
int number_of_buckets = num_samples / window_samples_step;
If this line is modified as follows the problem disappears:
int number_of_buckets = (int)((float)num_samples / (float)window_samples_step);
Do you have any ideas how to fix the problem without the above modification?
Thanks,
Ury.
This occurs near the end of the build and generally depends on it's original parameters. Try to compare your options between your Release and Debug builds and check that:
you are using the same Additional mtouch arguments on both configuration;
you are using the same compiler, Mono AOT versus LLVM compilers, on both configuration;
you are using the same architecture, ARMv6 versus ARMv7, on both configuration.
Otherwise attach (e.g. preferable to a bug report or pastebin) the full build log (from the Build Output of MonoDevelop's Error Pad) for both Debug and Release builds.
To be more helpful add "-v -v -v" to the Additional mtouch arguments before re-building. This will augment the verbosity (details) about each steps.
You need to set the app's Deployment Target (in the project's options, Build / iPhone Application page) to at least 5.0.
I am trying to build the boost.thread library for Visual Studio 9.0. I used bjam to build the lib-files:
bjam toolset=msvc-9.0 variant=release threading=multi link=shared
The compilation succeeded and I got plenty of .lib and .dll files under boost/stage/lib.
Then I added include path and the above lib path to Visual Studio 9.0.
But when I try to compile some program, I always get the following error:
libboost_thread-vc90-mt-s-1_49.lib cannot be opened.
The lib file created by the build has slightly another name:
boost_thread-vc90-mt-1_49.lib
I tried to rename my file to match the expected name, but Visual Studio still cannot find the file.
It seems that the filename beeing seaarched depends on the project option "C/C++ / Code generation / runtime library". I need the option "Multithreaded /MT".
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you in advance.
You're trying to link statically with CRT, but dynamically - with Boost. This is not a good idea, but if you insist, you should define BOOST_ALL_DYN_LINK macro.
Better option would be to select /MD in your project options, or to set "link=static" when building boost.
