I have a web job published to an empty azure website. In the root directory (D:\home) I have added a new folder called 'company'. When I run my web job I get the error:
Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'D:\home\company\B20150324.txt'.
The file is definitely there. I have confirmed with ftp and the sites Kudu CMD directory explorer.
My fault, file was named using a Local DateTime but Azure server is not.

I have an angular universal project. After the production build dist folder was generated successfully. After putting the content in the server root folder it's displaying the following error -

The node.exe process has not written any information to stderr or iisnode was unable to capture this information. Frequent reason is that the iisnode module is unable to create a log file to capture stdout and stderr output from node.exe. Please check that the identity of the IIS application pool running the node.js application has read and write access permissions to the directory on the server where the node.js application is located. Alternatively you can disable logging by setting system.webServer/iisnode/#loggingEnabled element of web.config to 'false'.
My main.js and web.config file are under the project directory with the dist folder and I gave all users full control permission in the root folder but still there is no luck.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Please make sure the permissions to give the IIS_IUSRS group write permissions to that folder
Go into the advanced settings menu and under Process Model -> Identity change the user account to a user that already has write permissions.

Maybe you need to check whether the static content feature in turn windows features on or off/IIS/world wide web service/http common feature/static content has been installed.
I'm trying to publish a ClickOnce application. To do so, I'm building the project with the msbuild publish target argument, copying the files to the artifact staging directory, then attempting to upload that directory via FTP.
However, the ftpupload task is failing:
With the following error:
550 The system cannot find the file specified.
For whatever reason, removing the / at the begging of the Remote Directory field fixed it. Most say the / at the beginning is needed, however. It might vary from one FTP server to another.

This error doesn't indicate that the specified files are missing in build.artifactstagingdirectory folder.
Actually the task would always succeed with the warning Could not find any files to upload even when the build.artifactstagingdirectory folder is empty:
To make the FTP upload task work successfully, you may need to check your Remote directory input of that task and make sure your FTP remote Server is configured well.
1.Assuming your remote home directory is C:\FTPfolder. You should use /TestFolder/as input if you want to upload the files to C:\FTPfolder\TestFolder. (Be careful about the slash)
2.If your upload task would create a new folder in remote directory during this process, you should make sure the user account has the related directory access like creating sub-folders...
PS: I run this pipeline in my self-hosted agent to upload files to remote directory in remote machine with Serv-U ftp server. The task works well in my side.
I am using msdeploy to deploy codes to dev server. this morning it stops working. and I am getting ERROR_USER_NOT_ADMIN. nothing changed, at least not that I know of.

Try search mmc and run it click on File add or remove snap-ins, select Local Users and Groups hit ok.
Click on the User uncheck everything and check only Password never expires.
Now go to Groups add new group if it does not exists MSDepSvcUsers, Double click on it and add your User as a member.
Go to Services and restart the Web Deployment Agent Service.
Now try and run your MSDeploy.

The NetLogon solution posted here didn't work on our AWS EC2 Windows Server 2019 instances because of the following:
This computer is configured as a member of a workgroup, not as a member of a domain. The Netlogon service does not need to run in this configuration.
The MSDepSvcUsers solution posted here didn't work completely either:

Adding the Read & execute and Read access to the folder containing the redirection.config file for the user doing the deploy didn't fix the issue, but adding read permissions for the NETWORK SERVICE user on that same folder did.
I recently encountered an interment problem where builds were failing with ERROR_USER_NOT_ADMIN.
This was after an OS upgrade to Windows 2016.
The error from MsDeploy was not entirely correct in our situation and we noticed that if the deployment user was remoted onto the server the deploy would complete successfully.
Upon looking at the event log I noticed that there was an error stating that the deployment account failed to logon with a reason 'The NetLogon component is not active.'
Sure enough, the NetLogon service was stopped. Starting it meant the deployments worked again.
I have a a web site on a IIS on a remote machine. I would like to sync the website on the remote server to a local IISExpress. Currently I do not have the site on my local IISExpress. I am using the following msdeploy.exe command line (Here I formatted it in several lines, but of course the actual command is a single line):

Error: Application Definition with path 'mysubdomain.mydomain.com' does not exist.
Am I doing it wrong?
Do I need to have the site on my local IISExpress before I can sync (is there any workaround if I must have it locally first?)?
In the -source argument, try using the name of the web application for webApp (e.g. webApp="wordpress") and specifying the URL for your server in the computername argument. I don't think you need to have the site locally to begin with, but of course you'll need to have whatever web application the site uses installed locally.

I have a very simple NServiceBus.Host.exe application that is using the default logging and the Production profile. According to the documentation, this should result in an appending file log that should appear in the same folder as the EXE. However, when I run the application as a service, the log file doesn't appear in the same folder as the EXE, and thus far I've been unable to locate it at all. The service is running as Local System. Do I need to run it as a user account and look for the file in the AppData folder somewhere? Is it under c:\windows somewhere? Where is it and is there a way for me to have it actually log to a file in the same folder as the EXE as advertised?
Update:
Using ProcMon and ProcExp from SysInternals, I can see that there is no attempt to create any log file in the folder where my EXE exists, nor are there any file permission errors while trying to create a log file anywhere, at least not from the PID of the service (if for some reason log4net spins up another process to do this work then I might have missed it).
It turns out that the service wasn't actually running in the Production profile. I had for some reason gotten it into my head that services would run in the production profile by default, while running it in interactive mode would use Lite by default. Not so - the service will use the Lite profile unless you specify otherwise. I changed my command to install the service from:
NServiceBus.Host.exe /install /displayName:MyService
to
NServiceBus.Host.exe /install /displayName:MyService NServiceBus.Production
and this fixed the issue.
