aerospike service start error /usr/bin/asd: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /usr/bin/asd) - linux

I am getting error when i am executing following command in ec2 machine
sudo /etc/init.d/aerospike start
I need aerospike engine in my ec2 machine for test purpose.
I used
wget -O aerospike.tgz 'http://aerospike.com/download/server/latest/artifact/ubuntu12 to get the file and installed it as the doc says.

I just happened to see this question. Have you resolved it? Did you get the proper version of GLibC installed?
If not, it looks like you are using the 3.5.3 community version, correct?
I tested in AWS on Ubuntu 14.4 M3 large, and it installed and started fine:
ubuntu#ip-172-31-23-5:~$ wget -O aerospike.tgz 'http://aerospike.com/download/server/latest/artifact/ubuntu12
> ^C
ubuntu#ip-172-31-23-5:~$ wget -O aerospike.tgz 'http://aerospike.com/download/server/latest/artifact/ubuntu12'

**the problem here I the image is not getting recognized in google colobatory it is coming [text/html] but it should come [png /jpg/bmp]please help to get over this problm**
The following command should address your need:
!wget --load-cookies /tmp/cookies.txt "https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=$(wget --quiet --save-cookies /tmp/cookies.txt --keep-session-cookies --no-check-certificate 'https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1BeeBFUY6BS-H66NMcx3hF1rwE3Yi3p3z' -O- | sed -rn 's/.*confirm=([0-9A-Za-z_]+).*/\1\n/p')&id=1BeeBFUY6BS-H66NMcx3hF1rwE3Yi3p3z" -O HorizonZero.png && rm -rf /tmp/cookies.txt
If you are wondering what it does, you see it's configuring the download with Google Drive file id (which I have taken from your question itself), setting HorizonZero.png as an output file, using cookies.txt file as specified by --keep-session-cookie to hold cookie information during the download (it's useful if your file is big), enabled auto-confirmation for the download, also skipping the certificate check by --no-check-certificate, and removed cookies.txt at the end after the download is over.

Tried purging / removing / clean / cache deleting / rebooting and then restarting the installation but it keeps reappearing.
Let me know if there's more info I can provide in manner to help you help me.
Cheers.
when removing freeradius (either by apt remove freeradius or apt purge freeradius) mind that config files are a seperate package called freeradius-config
so to completely wipe freeradius and do a reinstall do:
apt purge freeradius freeradius-config
rm -rf /etc/freeradius/
apt install freeradius
After installation of freeradius, add the following lines at the end of the client.conf file to set the access of your client:
#vi /etc/freeradius/3.0/clients.conf
For Example :
client SWITCH-01 {
ipaddr = 192.168.0.10
secret = kamisama123
}
client LINUX-01 {
ipaddr = 192.168.0.20
secret = vegeto123
}
In our example, we are adding 2 client devices, both devices will offer a login promt to authenticate on freeradius server database.
Now, locate and edit the freeradius users configuration file:
Example:
# vi /etc/freeradius/3.0/users
Adding Your Username And Password Like below:
freerad1 Cleartext-Password := "freerad1234"
freerad2 Cleartext-Password := "freerad2123"
Now, Restart freeradius server :
# service freeradius restart
Now, test your radius server configuration file :
#freeradius -CX
you can Test your radius authentication locally on the Radius server using the following commands:
# radtest freerad1 freerad1234 localhost 0 testing123
Here is an example of a successful radius authentication:
Sent Access-Request Id 151 from 0.0.0.0:34857 to 127.0.0.1:1812 length 75
User-Name = "freerad1"
User-Password = "freerad1234"
NAS-IP-Address = 172.31.41.98
NAS-Port = 0
Message-Authenticator = 0x00
Cleartext-Password = "freerad1234"
Received Access-Accept Id 151 from 127.0.0.1:1812 to 0.0.0.0:0 length 20
We are using the freerad1 username and the freerad1234 password to authenticate the user account.
The testing123 is a default device password included in the clients.conf file.
Now, go to the Linux server included on the clients.conf configuration file as LINUX-01.
Install the freeradius-utils package.
# apt-get install freeradius-utils
Test your radius authentication remotely on the Linux server (LINUX-01 OR YOUR CLIENT YOU ARE ADDED ON client.conf) using the following commands:
# radtest freerad freerad1234 192.168.0.50 0 vegeto123
** Congratulations, Your Freeradius server is on the service **

wget not downloading from authentic https url vaultpress

I'm using VaultPress to take my WordPress blog's backup
https://dashboard.vaultpress.com/
After clicking the download backup button, this site sends me a link from where I can download. When I click on this link, it starts downloading my backup in the browser, and that's perfect. But I'm trying to download this in my Ubuntu system using wget or curl but no success till now. Here is what the download URL looks like:
https://dashboard.vaultpress.com/12345/restore/?step=4&job=12345678&check=.
eric#eric:~# wget https://dashboard.vaultpress.com/12345/restore/?step=4&job=12345678&check=<somehashedvalue>

PS: The file size is almost 1 GB.
Then I used user/pass:
eric#eric:~# wget --user <myusername> --password <mypassword> https://aboveurl
I even used --ask-password:
eric#eric:~# wget --user <myusername> --ask-password https://aboveurl
But in this case, instead of asking password it completes the action and then asks for the password in another shell (I don't know the exact term), something like this:
eric#eric:~# wget --user <myusername> --ask-password https://dashboard.vaultpress.com/12345/restore/?step=4&job=12345678&check=<hashedvalue>
[1] 1979
[2] 1980
eric#eric:~# Password for user ‘<myusername>’: <mypassword-here>
<mypassword>: command not found
And then finally, I gave a try to curl:
eric#eric:~# curl -u <myusername>:<mypassword> https://dashboard.vaultpress.com/12345/restore/?step=4&job=12345678&check=<hashedvalue>
[5] 2010
[6] 2011
eric#eric:~#
I don't know what's happening? What are those [5] 2010 [6] 2011 or [5] 2229
This solution is also not working:
wget with authentication
The ampersands in your URL make Linux create new processes running in the background. The PID is printed out behind the number in the square brackets.
Write the URL within double quotes and try again:
wget "https://dashboard.vaultpress.com/12345/restore/?step=4&job=12345678&check=<somehashedvalue>"

cabal update: /usr/hs/tools/cabal-1.16.0.2 failure (return code=-9)
haskell was installed from justhub
Does anyone have any idea why it failed? I looked for the return code of -9 but there's no information.
Update
Thanks Reid (and user5402),
Checked the dmesg and that's definitely because it's out of memory
Out of memory: Kill process 32626 (cabal-1.16.0.2) score 711 or sacrifice child
Will upgrade the machine and try again, not sure how much would cabal-install need though, I'm on a 512MB RAM system
The value -9 probably means a child process died to SIGKILL, which in turn was probably sent by the OOM killer. Checking the output of dmesg can confirm this. If that's the case, one needs to turn up the RAM available. (based on this comment).
512Mb of RAM is not enough. Instead of upgrading machine you can enable swap.
On ubuntu do following steps:
sudo fallocate -l 4G /swapfile
sudo chmod 600 /swapfile
sudo mkswap /swapfile
sudo swapon /swapfile
It will add you 4G swap file, that will prevent killing from OS.
