Cannot install NumPy from a wheel format - python-3.x

I am trying to install NumPy from a wheel (.whl) file. I get the error:
numpy-1.9.1%2Bmkl-cp34-none-win_amd64.whl is not a supported wheel on this platform.
Details:
Windows 8.1 pro x64, elevated command prompt

What is wrong?

Short answer: rename the file to numpy-1.9.1%2Bmkl-cp34-none-win32.whl to install it.
You can check what tags your pip tool accepts for installation by running:
import pip; print(pip.pep425tags.get_supported())
In this case pip is incorrectly detecting your operating system to be 32-bits and the file you're trying to install was win_amd64 in its filename.
If you rename the file to numpy-1.9.1%2Bmkl-cp34-none-win32.whl (which now contains the tags that are considered supported) then you can install the package. It's a trick because the file is still built for 64-bits but this allows you to install the package as intended.

After several tests I think the problem is "win32" or "amd64" itself. I tried replacing those two with "any" and it worked.

In my case, the workaround to install gohlke packages on Python (3.4.4 (AMD64)) was to change the "cp34m" part rather than the "win*" parts in previous answers:

To add to the list of other possible solutions, I had to upgrade pip itself. The latest binary from Gholke's site had the "cp27m" tag, which didn't show up when I checked the pip tags using:
import pip; print(pip.pep425tags.get_supported())
After I upgraded pip, the wheel didn't work, but just doing a regular pip install numpy worked.

If you have, say, Python 3.4 installed, make sure to install the -cp34- version of the wheel and not -cp35-.

The current WinPython package manager need a two-characters fix to accept to recognize the new NumPy + mkl 'wheel'.

As a workaround, uninstall the NumPy package:
pip uninstall numpy
Then install it again from cache:
pip install numpy
I had the same problem with several packages after upgrading from 3.4.1 to 3.4.2.

Navigate to the directory where your 'pip.py' sits and then type following on the Windows command line:
..\python.exe pip.py install name_of_package.whl
This should work.

I had the same problem and tried to work it out with the suggested solutions.
I changed win64 to win32 and it didn't work either. But then I changed the name to original and this time it worked! The only extra thing I did was to go offline. That's so strange.

This has nothing to do with your operating system. Uninstall Python 32-bit and install Python 64-bit rather or alternatively find a 32-bit wheel file.

After upgrading to python-pyqt5 5.12-2 I get this error when I try to import from QtWidgets

Try uninstalling and re-installing all PyQt related libraries:
pip uninstall PyQt5
pip uninstall PyQt5-sip
pip uninstall PyQtWebEngine
Then install them again, this will fix:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'PyQt5.sip'
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'PyQt5.QtWebEngineWidgets'
PPS.:If you got problems uninstalling the libraries, go to your Python folder, like C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python<PYTHON-VERSION>\Lib\site-packages and manually delete the PyQt folders, them uninstall everything and install again (Make sure you have the latest Python version and upgraded your pip too)

You should add PyQt5.sip to hidden imports; that should solve the issue.
I repaired this problem
This problem occurred when upgrading pyqt5 version 5.15.0
There was no problem when I reverted to the previous version.
I have
python -V: 3.7.4
PYQT5 5.14.1 and PYSIDE 5.14.1 works fine
In addition to the answer provided by Tadeu (https://stackoverflow.com/a/58880976/12455023) I would also suggest checking version of your libraries to make sure that they match.
Use pip show <library_name>
This will help you to make sure that no earlier installation is conflicting with your current installation.
In place of library_name use PyQt5, PyQt5-sip, PyQtWebEngine. If any of them is present in the system, then use pip uninstall <library_name>==<version_number> to remove that library.
Once you made sure that no other versions of these libraries are there, then you can reinstall the preferred version of that library.

What version of Python are you running? In order to both successfully import and run the Tensorflow module, you must have the 64 bit version of Python installed. If you are using the latest version of Python, which to the best of my knowledge is 3.8.2, completely uninstall that version of Python, and downgrade to the latest Python version with 64 bit support.
If you follow the output of pip --version to find where your anaconda files are located, you can find the anaconda python executable, usually about two directory levels higher (if pip is in C:\example\anaconda\lib\site-packages, then python is probably in C:\example\anaconda) and use a full path to that python executable to run the file like C:\example\anaconda\python app.py. Or you could update your path environment variable to replace C:\Users\antoi\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\ with the directory containing the anaconda python executable
I've had this same exact issue (but on macOS) several times before I realized what was wrong, and I've seen several others have this issue too. I wish there was a way Python could somehow better regulate this to make sure the default executables for pip and python are always in sync

Using Homebrew python3 with both homebrew packages and pip/pip3 packages in Visual Studio Code for Mac OS

I am currently trying to setup Visual Studio Code on Mac OSX 10.13.6 for coding in python3. I'd like to avoid using multiple virtual environments for my different python3 scripts and instead have them all run using:
(1) the same homebrew installation of python3
(2) accessing installed python packages in:
homebrew packages list
pip3 installed package list
pip installed packages list.
First, I first installed python3 using homebrew:
$ brew info python

Third, I opened Visual Studio Code and in "Preferences" -> "Settings" and set "Python:Python Path" to the homebrew python3 installation as noted above /usr/local/bin/python3.

Next, I added /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages per the homebrew install of python3 to the Visual Studio Code Settings file using:

Finally, I selected my python interpreter in Visual Studio Code as /usr/local/bin/python3 and tried to run the following 2-lines of imports in a .py script as per the screenshot below. Note that the interpreter is Python 3.7.0 64-bit given by the bottom left corner of the VS Code window.
And after all of that, ended up with this output after clicking the "Play" button to run the code in the top right corner of VS Code:

Note: One workaround that seems to work, and I'm not sure why is if I put a shebang at the top of my script #! /usr/local/bin/python3 and my output then looks like this:

[Done] exited with code=0 in 0.051 seconds
Which is odd, because that's different than the output above where I didn't use the shebang but both python interpreters according to VSCode are indeed /usr/local/bin/python3
I was able to reproduce your problem.. but only when I use Code Runner to run.
Those kind of Output logs with [Running] and [Done] is Code Runner.
The play button is also not green, indicating Code Runner because the default is green.
Now, for the fix!
You'll notice that it executed your script using python -u. That python would be whatever python means on your system, which for me is the default Python 2.7. Basically, it's not your Homebrew Python3 with numpy.
Code Runner has a default set of "executors" which tells it which executable to use for which language. Search it for in your settings as "code-runner Executor Map":
Open your settings.json, enter code-runner.executorMap, then let it auto-complete with the default. You'll then see a long list of mappings between language and executor. Look for the one for python:

And there it is: python -u, the same one it used to run your script.
If you want to continue using Code Runner, simply change it to the whichever python interpreter you want to use. In your case, it should be /usr/local/bin/python3:

...
}
It should now work:
The reason it works with a #! /usr/local/bin/python3 shebang is because Code Runner has a setting that it respects the file's shebang (code-runner.respectShebang) which is true by default.
If you don't want this extra step of setting-up Code Runner, you can simply disable (or uninstall it). All the steps you already did (setting python.pythonPath, selecting the interpreter, and clicking that Play button) would have already worked just fine with Microsoft's Python extension. Unable to import sqlite3 using Anaconda Python

I am trying to do the following in Python 3.7.1 on Windows
import sqlite3
but I get the following error message

I got this working on windows by downloading: the sqlite3 dll (find your system version)
And placing it into the folder: C:\Users\YOURUSER\Anaconda3\DLLs
(Depending on how you installed Anaconda, this may have to be placed into
the following folder: C:\ProgramData\Anaconda3\DLLs)
According to #alireza-taghdisian, you can locate the exact path of
your conda environments (where you need to copy the sqlite3 dll) by typing:
conda info --envs on your anaconda prompt.
Locate the sqlite3.dll file. In my case it was in following folder
C:\Users\Admin\anaconda3\Library\bin
where C:\Users\Admin\anaconda3 is the folder where Anaconda was installed
Add this to PATH in environment variables, and it should work then.
Try copying the sqlite3.dll from the
C:\Users\YOURUSER\anaconda3\Library\bin
folder to
C:\Users\YOURUSER\Anaconda3\DLLs

I added anaconda root/Library/bin to my PATH and now it works!
Add CONDA_DLL_SEARCH_MODIFICATION_ENABLE=1 to your environment variables.
before executing the program, enter conda activate in your shell.
I had tried all above solutions But for me and my system I got to know that
I downloaded Python in C:\Python27 hence there is dll folder in python C:\Python27\DLLs
I installed Sqlite3.dll in my above dll folder
May be this solution will help you because it completely depends on where do you install your python

I put the sqlite3.dll in the path folder of my Python venv and still wont work. I suspected it is a path problem.
(In my case: E:\Virtual_Env\mini_zinc\env\Scripts)
I found in my case I messed up installation in a virtual evn, somehow using an anaconda python kernel within a Python venv.
I reinstall the Python Venv and check the python version after installed Env is correct (not the Anaconda python), then proceed with Jupyter Notebook (or Juyterlab) and works fine.
I was able to resolve this issue by putting sqlite3.dll file in the C:\Users<USERID>\AppData\Local\conda\conda\envs<ENV NAME>\DLLs.
Download sqlite3.dll file from https://www.sqlite.org/download.html
or copy it from C:\ProgramData\Anaconda3\DLLs\
I found the #elgsantos useful. But for those who are new to Python and Conda like me, I would like to add a little bit of details.
1- I use miniconda3 for creating new environment.
2- interestingly, I got two installation path on my computer for conda: the first one (the obvious) is located on "C:\Users\taghdisian\miniconda3". The second one is on "C:\Users\taghdisian\AppData\Local\r-miniconda". The latter is the primary path that you need to copy your sqlite3 files into the envs folder. I copy them in the "C:\Users\taghdisian\AppData\Local\r-miniconda\envs\sdr3.9\DLLs" in which the sdr3.9 is one of my virtual Condo environment.
you can locate the exact path of your conda environments (where you need to copy sqlite3) by typing the conda info --envs on your anaconda prompt.

python-escpos windows giving "bugtrack_url" error

Trying to install python-escpos library. The instructions say the following:
Ensure the library is installed on ${lib_arch}/${python_ver}/site-packages/escpos
On CLi you must run:
python setup.py build
sudo python setup.py install
What does ${lib_arch}/${python_ver}/ mean? Is it the path such as
\Users\RickT\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python36-32\Lib\site-packages\escpos?
When I run python setup.py build, I get the following error:

As I wrote in the comments you should write which version of the documentation you are using and which version of the codebase you are using.
The "error" considering the bugtrack_url is just a warning because setuptools does not know this token. This should not affect your setup in any way. You probably installed it successfully.
Concerning your question about the path: ${lib_arch}/${python_ver}/site-packages/escpos is more or less non-sense in a Windows-context. This just means your location of the site-packages-directory. So, your assumption is right.
All in all the probably easiest solution for you would be installing with pip. This would simply be - considering you have a working pip - a one-liner:
pip install python-escpos
