Windows Server 2012 More Than 2 RDS not allowed w/ 5 user CAL applied - windows-server-2012

I installed Windows Server 2012 and was able to connect 2 remote desktop users as expected. When the 3rd tried to connect it said you had to kick off one of the two simultaneous users currently on.
So I purchased a Per-User 5 license Open CAL and applied it. It is listed correctly as installed in the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager. Total licenses 5, available 5, everything looks great.
However, trying to connect a 3rd user via Remote Desktop to this server still gives the same error. I have done this before in Windows Server 2008 without a problem. Any ideas? I have the Remote Desktop Service role installed.

Not sure why the downvote for the question, but here's what worked for me:
Add the Remote Desktop Session Host role.
Apparently that has to be there for it to work properly.

How to connect macbook 11.4 big sur remotely with windows server 2008 R2

I have 3 RDP's (2 of Windows server 2012 R2 and 1 Windows Server 2008 R2). By using Microsft Remote Desktop, I am able to get connected remotely with the two Windows Server 2012 R2. But I am unable to connect with Windows Server 2008 R2. I am getting the below error.
Previously I was able to connect with all three. Also, I want to mention that in the windows environment I am not facing any issue with the RDP.
I am stuck to it and don't know what to do. Any help would be highly appreciated.
I had this issue and this is what I did to get working back the RDP client on a Macbook pro mid-2015 with the last big sure release.
First make sure that :
the remote server IS online
the remote server IS accepting RDP connections
the remote server firewall IS configured correctly with the right port
the remote server IS NOT configured to accept only connections with NLA
After validating the above points, then on your client (the Mac) you can try to get working the RDP with this first step :
remove (please make a backup) the file UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.rdc located in /Users/[Your username]/Library/Group Containers/ then reboot your Mac.
If it still doesn't work, you could try to remove the app, reboot, then re-install the app again.
You can also analyze the Event-Viewer on the 2008 R8 server to see if there is something to help you to spot the issue.
More information about troubleshooting RDP :
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/windows-server/remote/troubleshoot-remote-desktop-disconnected-errors
I faced the same problem some years ago.
here's the solution:
Read the article carefully. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/windows-server/remote/troubleshoot-remote-desktop-disconnected-errors.
And check if the remote server IS accepting RDP connections.
And also check if the remote server accepting only connections with NLA.
delete the file UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.rdc and Reboot.
And if still doesn't work, then totally uninstall / remove the app and install again and check.
Thank You

How-to remote connect from a PC into a Windows 10 Mobile Phone

I would like to remote control a Windows 10 Mobile Phone from a PC. I only found the remote Desktop App which allows a Phone to remote control a PC.
Connecting via RDC to the IP address shown in "Phone, ..., For Developers, Device portal" does not work.
According to Windows Central there is a new feature Project to this PC in the Win10 Anniversary Update:
"
On Settings > System for the Anniversary Update there is a new Project to this PC settings page. This is a new feature in the new version of the operating system, which is essentially another way to remote access devices. The feature allows to project your Windows phone or computer to another Windows 10 PC with access to control their keyboard and mouse using the Connect app.
"
After a lot of digging (searching), I ran across a company called ISL Online. The link is here: ISL Online
For my scenario, I want to remote control the W10M device via the internet/network, similar to how you would using Remote Desktop Connection. This seems to be one of the few, if not the only companies out there that has a solution for this.
I am now using it and it works great.

IIS Error : Remote connections are not supported

I have switched recently to windows 10 and have no clue if this is linked but my IIS doesn't seem to work as it used to. I previously had a remote connection to one of my website but every time I click its name in IIS it returns me an error: "Remote connections are not supported".
A quick check tells me that IIS Manager for Remote Administration is installed in its version 1.2. I have no idea what is happening and it is really frustrating because I cannot add any new website either.
I had a similar problem. I solved it by downloading and running "IIS Manager for Remote Administration 1.2" and doing a "Repair" operation. This did three things: 1) reduced the startup time for the IIS Manager dramatically, 2) added a "Start Page" root node in my IIS Manager Connections pane (I know this used to be there but I had not noticed it was missing after my Windows 10 update), and 3) fixed my remote connection node.

Windows authentication in IIS 8

I am trying to setup RavenDB on my new Windows 8 dev machine. I have enabled Windows Authentication on that particular site and disabled Anonymous Authentication. I am logged in as a Local User account, which is also a member of Administrator. This normally works just fine on my previous Windows 7 dev machine. In this one I keep getting asked for login. I have tried using the account I'm logged in as but I keep getting asked to log in. I'm simply trying to use the RavenDB Studio.
I have tried this on Chrome and IE - probably missing something obvious/fundamental but can't think of what. Any ideas please? Thanks.
I was using unstable 1.2 build 2139. It was fixed in build 2140.

Is it possible to connect to a microsoft database like sage from a Linux server?

The documentation of sage says this.
You have a Linux Server (Operating system:openSUSE 11.1 + Plesk 9.5) not a windows Server Thus the technical specifications for the Sage Line 50 are not met and cannot be installed on the Server you have.
Sage line 50 Technical specifications: (http://shop.sage.co.uk/accounts.aspx)
Compatible operating systems
Windows XP Service Pack 3
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2003
I know sage says this, but i also know you Linux boys are great. Is there any possibility of this happenening or must i get a windows based server
Any information would be great
You're referring to hosting, not connecting. You will need a Windows server.
Sage is not a microsoft database its a third party app written by Sage. Sage uses a flat file system to store data so technically you could store the data on a linux server using samba and connect to the network path on your windows client to access the data. probably not supported but it would def work.
