Initially when i installed Microstrategy Analytics Enterprise, i could run Microstrategy Web.
But after unchecking and then checking back IIS services in "Turn Windows Features Off or On" and then restarting my system, i cannot access Microstrategy Web on my browser.It keeps saying Unable to connect, Can't establish a connection to localhost
I haave tried restarting Microstrategy services in "Services", restarting my browsers, but all to no avail.
Please how do i resolve this?

I was requested to configure IIS for an internal website on Windows 2019 server where Windows Admin Center is installed already. Since 443 was used by Windows Admin Center, I tried to configure a custom port such as 4433 and opened a firewall rule for the port as well as my subnet. The website opens fine locally, https://mywebsite.com:4433. However, when it is attempted externally, it times out with the following errors:
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
What could be an issue? Any idea?
There are many reasons for this error, you can try below steps to slove this issue:
Check if your internet connection is working properly. Check the status of the network connection and see if it is stable. You can disconnect and connect to the internet to see if the issue is resolved.
Disable firewall
Go to Windows > Settings > Updates and Security > Windows Security > Click Firewall and Network Protection and try to disable
Also try clearing your browser's cache and see if the issue is resolved
I have windows 10 (pro) and IIS 10 installed on Server A. I was trying to publish a Web API from Visual Studio 2015 on Machine B to Server A, but I get the following error.
web deployment task failed. (Could not connect to the remote computer ("172.26.50.17") . On the remote computer, make sure that Web Deploy is installed and that the required process ("Web Management Service") is started.
I understood from googling that the web server need to have Management Service installed and running. I have installed web platform installed and I can see that the "Web depoy 3.6 without bundled SQL support(latest)" component installed.
But I still do not see management service icon under "management" section on IIS. Could anyone please help me understand this?
I solved it by installing the Web Platform Installer (Web PI).
Then you can add a lot of tools using this Web PI. One of those tools is Management Service which can be enabled via Web PI.
If you do that and still cannot see the Management Service, try closing and opening the IIS Manager again.

I have an ASP.net MVC application that I've developed using Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise that is not behaving nicely in IE8, and as much as I'd like to just declare IE8 as unsupported, this is unfeasible from a business perspective at the moment.
So, to test in IE8, I downloaded a VirtualBox containing an instance of windows with IE8 from here.
I've been successful in using this instance of IE8 to connect my organization's dev server (which is running Windows Server 2012r2, IIS 8.5.9600), so I've been able to reproduce the issue. I'd really like to be able to step through what's happening in the debugger, though.
So, I believe I have two options.
Connect to the IIS instance on our dev server using Visual Studio's remote debugging feature.
This is kind of intimidating to me to attempt, because there seem to be a lot of options and I'm unsure how to proceed. It would be nice to be able to figure this out, though, as being able to do remote debugging on the dev server would be very helpful for future development. I tried using the default transport and putting the host for the dev sever in the "qualifier" box in VS, but it just told me the debugger service wasn't running on the remote machine, even though I'm fairly certain it is.
Connect to my local workstation running Visual Studio from virtualbox
This seems like it would be the simplest solution, but I can't figure it out. I tried a few different network modes from virtualbox -- NAT, bridged, and Host-Only, but I could never get the page to load in IE inside the virtualbox. I tried using the ip of my workstation as reported by ipconfig /all (the IP of the normal network adapter for bridged and NAT mode, and the IP of the "Host Only" special adapter in Host Only mode) and the port VS was configured to use. No dice.
Any ideas on how I can move forward with either of these options? Or some third, better option?
I'm having troubles enabling remote debugging on sharepoint online. I have 2 machines, my local machine (Windows 8.1) and my development server(Windows Server 2008 R2). On my development server I first tried remote debugging using Visual Studio 2012 Update 4, as described here: http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/web-sites-dotnet-troubleshoot-visual-studio/#remotedebug.
When this didn't work I tried doing exactly the same thing on my local machine, which has Visual Studio 2013 (Ultimate) update 1 and the latest windows azure sdk (2.3). This worked perfectly. Thinking upgrading to visual studio 2013 would solve my problem I've installed 2013 (Premium) on my dev server, next to 2010 and 2012. After installing and updating everything for 2 hours however, I came to the conclusion that I received the same error as on VS 2012.
Googling came up with a few interesting causes for this bug: sitenames longer than 20 characters or sitenames containing hyphens. This is not the case. Then I verified port settings, the dev server has no active firewall but I wanted to exclude any possibilities. And low and behold, both telnetting from my local machine as my dev server to ports 4016 and 4018 of my azurewebsites.net url worked.
Are there any other solutions for this bug? Since debugging locally is not an option (sharepoint provider hosted app for project online) this is very inconvenient.

UPDATE: Deploying the site as a cloud service works, and so does remote debugging them. However, we would like to stay with azure web sites for now..

I have a web application asp.net to deploy to Windows Azure. This application contains one web role. I try to run it on local first. But when debugging, I catch this error from VS2010: "Window Azure Tools for Microsoft Visual Studio
The Web Browser can not be started. To resolve this problem, you must restart Windows."
I have restarted windows several times, but there was no luck.![enter image description here][1]

There could be two problems:
Problem with your IIS settings: It is possible that there is a problem with your IIS in your machine which could not be restarted when VS2010, wants to run it.
To verify it what you can do it launch your Web Role using "View in Browser" setting and see if your Web Role can run in IIS, you will see the web role started in a URL as http:\localhost:XXXXX and that would be the first step to resolved.
Problem will your Windows Azure SDK which could not launch the WebBrowser to run in IIS
If you don't have problem in this step #1, then it is possible that Windows Azure SDK has some problem trying to start your IIS from external process and this could be caused by corrupted SDK installation or any other reason.
If that is the case try:
remove all Windows Azure SDK components from your machine.
Restart the machine, Install Azure SDK from here for VS2010
After SDK install, restart the VS2010 in admin mode and try created a hello world webrole and see what happens.
