I have a function in puppet that creates a temporary folder to use as a scratch directory. However, because of how puppet works the function is run at compile time, and thus the folder is always created.
I would like to add a dependency to the function somehow.
Here is the function:
module Puppet::Parser::Functions
newfunction(:create_temporary, :type => :rvalue) do |args|
temporary = Dir.mktmpdir
temporary
end
end

I am attempting to deploy a Lambda function using Terraform, where my source files are in a different directory adjacent to where I have my Terraform files. I want to have Terraform do the zipping of the source files for me and deploy them into the Lambda. Terraform doesn't seem to want to recognize that my files are there, though.
My directory structure:
project_root/
deployment/
terraform/
my-terraform.tf
function_source/
function.py
I want it to package everything in function_source directory (there is only one file there now, but may be more later) and drop it into the deployment directory.
My Terraform:
data "archive_file" "lambda_zip" {
type = "zip"
output_path = "../function.zip"
source_dir = "../../function_source/"
}
resource "aws_lambda_function" "my_lambda" {
filename = "${data.archive_file.lambda_zip.output_path}"
function_name = "my-function"
role = "${aws_iam_role.lambda_role.arn}"
handler = "function.handler"
runtime = "python3.7"
}
When I run this, though, I get the error message data.archive_file.lambda_zip: data.archive_file.lambda_zip: error archiving directory: could not archive missing directory: ../../function_source/
I have tried using absolute paths without success (which wouldn't be a good solution anyway). I have also tried creating the .zip file manually and hardcoding its directly in Lambda declaration, but it only works if I put the .zip file in my terraform directory. It seems Terraform can only see files in its own directory or below, but I'd rather not co-mingle my source files there. Is there a way to do this?
I am using Terraform v0.12.4
I'm trying to run go build command for my project but it exits with below error.
alpha#GHOST-RIDER:~/GoWorkspace/src/github.com/hyperledger/firstproject$ go build
# github.com/hyperledger/fabric-sdk-go/internal/github.com/hyperledger/fabric/core/operations
../fabric-sdk-go/internal/github.com/hyperledger/fabric/core/operations/system.go:227:23: not enough arguments in call to s.statsd.SendLoop
have (<-chan time.Time, string, string)
want (context.Context, <-chan time.Time, string, string)
Any help would be appreciated.
As per code fabric is using the different version of this library: github.com/go-kit/kit/metrics/statsd. If you follow the System struct's statsd attribute, you can reach the reference on imports.
In master branch of this lib, SendLoop function requires 4 attributes, so that's the root cause. So this causes error when you compile on your local environment.
I had the same issue and worked around it by checking out a tag of library as below:
cd $GOPATH/src/github.com/go-kit/kit
git fetch --tags
git checkout v0.8.0
found a solution on the hyperledger-fabric-go-sdk group chat.
Add context.Background() in s.statsd.SendLoop like below
s.statsd.SendLoop(context.Background(), s.sendTicker.C, network, address)
in fabric-sdk-go/internal/github.com/hyperledger/fabric/core/operations/system.go file at line 227.
I had a same issue, my solution worked and don't need edit fabric source code.
specify github.com/go-kit/kit to v0.8.0, modify go.mod:
replace github.com/go-kit/kit => github.com/go-kit/kit v0.8.0 // you specific version
require (
... ...
// Maybe other version, go mod tidy update automatically, don't care it.
github.com/go-kit/kit v0.9.0 // indirect
... ...
)
then it worked.
I'm trying to create a folder within the temp folder that doesn't have a random name.
Here is how I was trying to create the folder within the temp folder.
if not DirExists(ExpandConstant('{%tmp}\Utilities\SDK')) then
CreateDir(ExpandConstant('{%tmp}\Utilities\SDK'));
Log('Temp\Utilities\SDK Folder Has Been Created.');
I had a look at this thread, but even with the %, unfortunately, it still doesn't create the folder.The script compiles and runs as expected, however the folder doesn't create even though it says it has in the log file, I understand that the log file will say that because its told too, however, if the folder was unable to be created, wouldnt it crash? or return a false if an if statement was present?
With CreateDir() You must create dirs one after the other and not a dir structure at once.
if not DirExists(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities')) then
CreateDir(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities'));
if not DirExists(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities\SDK')) then
CreateDir(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities\SDK'));
if DirExists(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities\SDK')) then
Log('Temp\Utilities\SDK Folder Has Been Created.') else
Log('Temp\Utilities\SDK Folder ERROR : NOT Created.');
Inno Setup has a function to create a dir structure at once
function ForceDirectories(Dir: string): Boolean;
Example:
if not DirExists(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities\SDK')) then
ForceDirectories(ExpandConstant('{tmp}\Utilities\SDK'));
Also keep in mind :
{tmp} all is related to the Inno Setup Temp folder is-XXXXX.tmp
C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\is-XXXXX.tmp
{%temp} is the users Temp folder
C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp
I think you want the Windows Temp and not the tmp from InnoSetup
{tmp}:
Temporary directory used by Setup or Uninstall. This is not the value of the user's TEMP environment variable. It is a subdirectory of the user's temporary directory which is created by Setup or Uninstall at startup (with a name like "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\IS-xxxxx.tmp"). All files and subdirectories in this directory are deleted when Setup or Uninstall exits. During Setup, this is primarily useful for extracting files that are to be executed in the [Run] section but aren't needed after the installation.
So I think you want to do somethink like this:
if not DirExists(ExpandConstant('{%temp}\Utilities\SDK')) then
CreateDir(ExpandConstant('{%temp}\Utilities\SDK'));
Log('Temp\Utilities\SDK Folder Has Been Created.');
I always install a program (B = {app}) inside of the C:\A (C:\A\B). I need to know how to use the DelTree function to delete B folder and A folder (the A folder only if is empty).
This is my code to delete B folder:
DelTree(ExpandConstant('{app}'), True, True, True);
I need this to rollback an installation of prerequisities, when the installation fails or is cancelled. So I cannot use UninstallDelete or InstallDelete sections.
Just use RemoveDir and ignore errors.
Deletes an existing empty directory. The return value is True if a new directory was successfully deleted, or False if an error occurred.
Use ExtractFileDir to resolve a path to the parent folder of the {app}.
RemoveDir(ExtractFileDir(ExpandConstant('{app}')));
How do I create multiple file via Puppet?
For example I can run:
touch abc{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8} to create abc1,abc2,abc3....abc8
How do I run the same via Puppet?
At its simplest, you can specify a list of files by passing an array to a file resource:
$numbered_files = ["/abc1", "/abc2", "/abc3"]
file { $numbered_files:
ensure => file,
}
To automatically build an array of filenames with a certain prefix, then the range function from stdlib can do this trivially:
$numbered_files = range("/abc1", "/abc8")
file { $numbered_files:
ensure => file,
}
