How to display default user registration or User Creation form in Portlet/Jsp ?
You just need to build the render-url that renders the jsp.
Take a look at /portal-web/docroot/html/portlet/login/navigation/create_account.jsp as to how the URL is created.
You just need to have this method call PortalUtil.getCreateAccountURL(request, themeDisplay).
so your JSP code might look something like this:
<a href=<%=PortalUtil.getCreateAccountURL(request, themeDisplay)%>> Create Account </a>
Note: I have not tried this, but it should more or less work.

I very much new to Node JS and Express Framework & mongodb. I am working on a website which has multiple categories and when we click on category it goes to a view, where based on the category clicked, data gets loaded in the view.
please check the link for website here.
I am looking help for navbar links eg. Montessori Premium->Toddler Material
As these are static links I can not figure how to pass any parameter or url format for this.
I have done the routing for individual products as they have ids coming from database so I am using that id in url.
Thanks in advance.
It seems to me like you're just missing a bit of glue in between the front-end and the back-end database calls. Here's a rough idea of the sequence you might be after and an explanation of what I think you're missing.
If I'm wrong, please add a comment and update your question to include the new details and I'll see about editing my answer.
In this example I'm creating a website which has a list of "items" in a shop and we're looking to display them all on a single page. Each item should then have an a href clicking through to that specific item where there might be more detail such as a "full description" of the item and maybe some images or something. We're going to look at the flow to build that first page with the list of items.
The user makes a HTTP GET call to the root of your website such as "http://www.mystore.com/".
This request comes through in Express to your controller which takes the req, res, next parameters.
Your controller makes a call to the database to get a list of all items including their names and ID's.
You then use something called templating to inject in the list of items.
In this template you iterate through the list doing something like this.
.
<ul>
{{#each items}}
<li><a href="/items/{{id}}>{{name}}</a></li>
{{/each}}
</ul>
In this template (which happens to be Handlebars), we're going through the list of items and using the id and name of each to inject them into the HTML to get something a bit like this back.
<ul>
<li><a href="/items/1>Shoes</a></li>
<li><a href="/items/2>Red spotted dress</a></li>
<li><a href="/items/3>Jeans</a></li>
</ul>
This is then served up to the user once the template has been processed.
In essence I think you're after some sort of templating engine, I'd highly recommend having a look at Handlebars with something like the express-hbs.
Thank you #Elliot for your time to answer this. Yes I am using handlebars for templating. The solution I found is, because I am using static links, I am passing query string in anchor tag link.
eg. http://localhost:8000/product?category=Toddler_Material
and then using req.query for capturing the values (Toddler_Material) in router
var category = req.query.category;
In Liferay 6.1, we created a hook to hide the sign out link in the dockbar. However, when I look at the code for 6.2, I see the following:
<c:if test="<%= themeDisplay.isShowSignOutIcon() %>">
<aui:nav-item cssClass="sign-out" href="<%= themeDisplay.getURLSignOut() %>" iconCssClass="icon-off" label="sign-out" />
</c:if>
No matter how much I google, I can't find any reference to themeDisplay.isShowSignOutIcon(), aside from the API reference, which does me no good, as it is not commented at all. I did find the page that discusses the native LR theme properties and apparently determining whether to show/hide a sign out linkn is not one of the native theme properties.
Does anyone know if you can set the theme itself to show/hide the sign out link and how you would go about doing it?
I too analyzed ServicePreAction code, and found that all this code does is:
checks if the user is logged in or not
if yes, shows 'sign out' link, not otherwise
You can simply create a hook to override html/portlet/dockbar/view_user_account.jspf to either remove that code snippet from this jsp to hide it for all scenarios OR modify the condition to show/hide as per your requirements.
The only place that I've found where ThemeDisplay.setShowSignOutIcon is called is in ServicePreAction (linking master branch here). That being said, it looks like it's not configurable, but you can easily create another ServicePreAction in a hook. Please see an example in this plugin (referencing portal.properties and liferay-hook.xml, but naturally there's also code that I'm sure you'll find. It's not big)
Another option - if you just want to unconditionally get rid of the link: Use CSS to hide it. Yes, it will still be there, but any way you choose to hide the link, the actopm at /c/portal/logout will still be available...
I read this from a recent answer to a question:
After enabling the extension, just use {{ twitterfeed() }} in your templates.
But, what if I only want say a contact form on one page? Putting the tag in the page's text field doesn't work. And putting it in the template would have it available on all the pages using that template. Do I have to duplicate a template to use only for the contact page? If not where do I put the contact form tag?
I went to Bolt's extension page, selected "how to use extensions" from the menu, and got this message:
No proper name for a page in the docs. Bye!
Perhaps someone at Bolt could fix the URL?
I would like to know why none of the extensions I want to use are not working. I am clearly missing a vital piece of info.
Thank you.
After enabling the extension, just use {{ twitterfeed() }} in your templates.
The Twig function {{ twitterfeed() }} belongs (generally speaking) in a Twig template file. You can use Twig in record fields, but that requires setting allowtwig: true for that Contenttype field.
But, what if I only want say a contact form on one page?
There are a few ways to do this, but the easiest way is to make a copy of your sites template file for the page's Contenttype and select that template for the 'Contact' record. The default 'pages' Contenttype that comes with Bolt has a templateselect field type that enables this.
No proper name for a page in the docs. Bye!
Fixed! Thanks for pointing it out.
how to disable yui from adding id to node automatically. like Y.one('#mynode').setHTML('some content');
I want the html looks like
<div id="mynode"><div>some content</div></div>
however, it shows like
<div id="mynode"><div id="yui_3_......">some content</div></div>
how I can make it looks like what I want
I had a look and decided it wasn't easily achievable, as this is how YUI works. You'll also find it adds IDs when event handlers fire (all the way up from the element which triggered the event, to the body, which can be confusing.
Can I ask though, why does it matter? Anything which already has an ID won't get it replaced. so it's only elements which had no ID assigned which are affected.
hi I've made a simple module with CTLModuleMaker in CMS made simple, in the template I call the necessary items like this:
{assign var="item" value=$itemlist[0]}
{$item->name->Label()}: {$item->name}<br/>
{$item->image->Label()}: {$item->image}<br/>
{$item->image_text->Label()}: {$item->image_text}<br/>
{$item->image_desc->Label()}: {$item->image_desc}<br/>
{$item->img_thumb->Label()}: {$item->img_thumb}<br/>
{$item->catagory->Label()}: {$item->catagory}<br/>
as you can see i call an image with {$item->image} but when i try to do something like this {$item->url} it returns the url of the whole page I'm trying to get the url of the image not the whole page.
any suggestions what i can do??
In a news template, it calls
<img src="{$item->file_location}/{$item->image->value}" />
You can also use {debug} to see all the variables being passed to the template in a separate popup window. This is my get out of jail free card when I can't find a field name.
