an working on a project which requires collaborating on the same excel file by many users
one of the things i came across is , excel web app , but of course it requires skydrive/internet , my question is there something similar which can works internally (i.e on a LAN) ?

SharePoint Foundation is a free, on-premise installation that offers the basics of team collaboration and file sharing.
A file server with a public folder is also "free" (as in: if you have a LAN and users logging on to it, you probably already have a file server) and can be accessed by everybody on the domain.
More sophisticated solutions (SharePoint server, Excel Services, etc) will have a price tag.

I have just setup 5 centos 6 servers. I want to turn then all into webservers but I want one server to be able to control all the servers and install websites on them. How do I do this? Is there some software I could use that is preflably free.
I strongly recommend puppet configuration management system to automate your installation/configuration process. it is open source. it has one centralized server used to store/distribute configuration/updates across your network infrastructure.

I have to look at the Microsoft Sharepoint Designer, i have the Designer installed but to not assemble all the dependencies of Microsoft Sharepoint Server (windows 2008 server 64, sql server, etc, etc...) i'm asking if Microsoft (or someone) has a free site to provide us a Microsoft Sharepoint Server installed to test the designer on it, maybe exists?
Have a look at the virtual labs:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/cc707678.aspx
Or download a pre-configured virtual machine with everything already installed:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27417
But the answer to your actual question I suspect is no. Sharepoint costs alot of money for an external licence, it's unlikely that anybody, even Microsoft, is going to open up a sharepoint server for you especially when they are giving away virtual machines that do just that. Plus all the dangers from hackers etc to the next user that comes along. Get the VM going.

Are there any pen-testing agencies that tests nodejs applications? And are there any good tools with wich you can do it yourself?
Regardless of what platform you choose a lot of the same vulnerabilities are found. I recommend the open source project skipfish or a service like Sitewatch. Skipfish doesn't have a JavaScript interpreter, so if you use client side js heavily then you should go with the open source Grendel-Scan.
Zaproxy, is a great tool for web application pentest http://sourceforge.net/projects/zaproxy/files/
A bit late in the day, however www.ZeroDayLab.com specialise in app security scans like this.

Would anyone like to recommend free alternative to SharePoint Portal ?
We want to create a internal portal site for Content Management with features like Permissions, History etc.
If you have windows 2003 server sharepoint services comes for free.. This is ok if you have a small team around 40 people.. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/sharepoint/bb848085.aspx
DotNetNuke (www.dotnetnuke.com) is a great one. You could also check out Alfresco (www.alfresco.com)
The WhiteHouse.org site just moved its CMS to Drupal - so it's at least good enough for government work. :)
Alfresco is an open source CMS with Web Content Management that is often positioned as Open Source Alternative to SharePoint . Used by lots of enterprises all over the world (check customers list). Here is one comparison. from content management analysts.
