How can I create a layout similar to this, using shapes?

there are various tools available in market for good UI designing in android, also you can use intelli j idea as an IDE and go for its tutorials ,other links like appinventor , droidDraw will also help you to make a good looking and impressive UI.
also if you want to create exact UI just like that you can use frameLayout in xml.and design it accordingly.

Making a layout in AndoidStudio

New to Android development, but lots of experience in C#, Winforms, Webforms, and MVC.
It's making absolutely no sense whatsoever. I've done the tutorials but I just don't know how to get started or what to do.
I need to make a layout that looks something like this.
Easy in Winforms: some group boxes and lots of labels.
Easy in HTML: a div with a border and a position:relative for the label and a table inside.
What on Earth does on do in Android?

UMLDesigner – Diagram auto layout

I tried to use UMLDesigner to draw my project related diagrams. I see there is a Arrange functionality that can automatically layout diagram elements and links to save some manual work. But when i used it in my Activity diagrams it designed it upside down.
Here is an example. I created following simple activity diagram.
And here is how auto layout result for the same model looks like: auto layout.
The initial node is at the bottom and the final nodes are on top. But i want it the other way - to start at the top and end at the bottom. Is there a way to configure this?
I tried pinning starting and final nodes but it just made a mess after arranging the rest automatically. I searched the settings but couldn't find anything. I use UML Designer Version 7.1.0.

I am sorry there is no way from the preferences to change this behaviour.
This is because I never provide a specific layout for this diagram. Please, fill an issue in the bug tracker and it will be fixed for the next version of UML Designer as it is really easy to fix: https://github.com/ObeoNetwork/UML-Designer/issues.

windows 10 UWP UI design for mobile device

I am working on windows 10 mobile app. If I design an UI for 5' device, it doesn't look good on 5.2' device. Also on emulators of different screen size show messed up UI. Is there any work around this? Or do I have to design it for every screen size?
Usually, please avoid to have fixed Width/Height for your controls. With a Grid layout, you can set columns/rows and place your controls inside each cells. This is a first level to adapt properly your interface. In addition, UWP provides AdaptiveTriggers if you want to adapt the layout based on the screen resolution (cf. https://channel9.msdn.com/Series/A-Developers-Guide-to-Windows-10/07) for additional information. Last but not least, please check Design&UI documention on https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/design.
The trick is with UWP that you can design for every screensize at once. It's just a responsive design you use (either HTML/CSS or XAML). But you have to use the right controls and settings.
Some guidance on how to design for various sizes can be found at the MSDN design page.
To create a dynamic layout with XAML, see this article. There are various panel-types you can use to do the layout (see this article). But if you really want to build a responsive UI (or change it dramatically in various sizes) RelativePanel is your friend.

Horizontal Scrolling Cards just like Recent Apps of Lollipop in Android?

I found a library, this library supports vertical scrolling cards, I want to change this library according to my needs (Horizontal scrolling).
Can anyone suggest how to implement Cards just like the mentioned library cards horizontally.

As I always suggest to ask an author and this time I'm the author of this library, I'll tell you what to do.
RecentsList is very simple and the only place you have to change is here: https://github.com/ZieIony/MaterialRecents/blob/master/app/src/main/java/tk/zielony/materialrecents/RecentsList.java#L127 . This method layouts cards inside container. You have to write your own layouting logic.
Why I don't implement that change? Because I'm not sure what do you mean by horizontal cards. Lollipop in landscape orientation shows vertical cards (at least the one I have on my desk).
The second reason is that I think I should rewrite this library from scratch. It was just an experiment with custom layouting code. Correct implementation would use view reusing and recycling just like RecyclerView and ListView do.

How can I add a button at the end of a listView?

Iwould like to add a button at the end of a listView in the same way as the bing apps do (see picture for example).
I looked for hours in google and in the microsoft documentation but canøt find anything that can give me an idea of how to do this.
Did anyone achieved this?

If you run that app (Health & Fitness), then run Visual Studio and use Debug > Attach to Process, you can open the DOM Explorer and examine how that UI is implemented.
What you'll see in this case is that it's not using a ListView at all, but rather it's own custom control that's just based on a CSS grid. That is, just because there's a grid-like view doesn't mean it's a ListView. You can always use straight HTML/CSS layout to achieve these sorts of things, which is all that's happening here. As such, it just makes separate div's for those two "More" elements.
Now if you do want to use a ListView, there are a few things you can do. First of all, if you want to render any item in a ListView differently than others, you have to make sure to use a different template. What this means is that you use an item rendering function rather than a declarative template, which then enables you to examine the item data and programmatically decide what kind of rendering to perform.
Second, if you want to have items of different sizes, then you need to use cell spanning. In Windows 8.0/WinJS 1.0 this is a property of the GridLayout. In Windows 8.1/WinJS 2.0 you instead use the CellSpanningLayout.
