modify the text of conditions of use in liferay - liferay

I work with liferay 5.2
I want to change the text which appears after the first login
this text contains the conditions of use
but I didin't find this text in liferay

Please check \portal-web\docroot\html\portal\terms_of_use.jsp .
There are two ways terms of use appear in liferay.
You can set below portal properties in portal-ext.properties to make your web content to visible as term of use content.
Specify the group id and the article id of the Journal article that will
be displayed as the terms of use. The default text will be used if no
Journal article is specified.
terms.of.use.journal.article.group.id=
terms.of.use.journal.article.id=
If you want to just modify some of part of term of use content which Liferay provides then you can override "terms_of_use.jsp" in hook and provide changes in content.

Drupal how to add a search filter to admin content page

I've never used Drupal before (development or managing content). I was asked to extend the admin content page to have a filter and simply don't know enough to get moving quickly.
Can anyone tell me if adding a search by text filter in the admin content area requires code or is there a CMS feature like adding a node for this task.
If code is required, is there something like a hook for this area? Not sure where to start. I will be investigating on my own but pointers to get me oriented to Drupal would help.
By default Drupal provides search mechanism ready to use. But there are also additional module which can improve search experience. You don't need any coding to use that search. You already have search form block ready to use.
Go to Structure -> Blocks and find block called "Search form". Now all you have to do is to put that block in some region and it will appear on front-end. Of course if it's not already styled by your theme it may be needed to put some extra CSS to make it look nice. There are also some template files which you can override and put some your HTML if you need.
There's also template file for search results page (which of course will work out of box also).
You may also need to create new block region if you want to place your form at some specific place, not covered by any existing region defined by your theme (easy thing to do!).
See https://drupal.stackexchange.com/q/30633/101329, the "Admin Views" module lets you configure the search form as you like.

Kentcio v9 Smart Search Dialog with Results search mode localization

How can i localize the drop down option for the search mode? I did some digging and was able to adjust the localization for the search form labels but i'm at loss here.
The CMS Module SearchDialog.ascx call the drop down list here, but i can't see where the values come from.
<cms:CMSDropDownList runat="server" ID="drpSearchMode" CssClass="DropDownField" />
Go to the localization App and create resource strings for
"srch.dialog.AllWords"
"srch.dialog.AnyWord"
"srch.dialog.anywordorsynonyms"
"srch.dialog.ExactPhrase"
Believe those are the 4 you need.
I couldn't find official documentation that helps much with this, though there have been articles in the past on older versions. However, one trick I've used previously is to look in the ~/CMSResources/cms.resx file, find the localized string there, and add a new one with the same key to the Localization module in Kentico. That is, add a new resource string in Kentico with the same key (the naming will be different depending on your version of Kentico).
Here's the docs discussing setting up a multilingual interface: https://docs.kentico.com/display/K9/Setting+up+a+multilingual+user+interface
And here's a screenshot of the resx file:
So in your case I'd create a new resource string within Kentico called "srch.dialog.allwords" as an example and that should overwrite and take priority over whatever is in the .resx file, plus you can manage it via the Kentico admin. There may be a quicker or more reliable way to view the list of default resource strings but in my recent installs of Kentico, the list is hidden from the admin interface.
Alternatively, of course, you could manage the resource strings via various .resx files as in the documentation, but I try to manage as much of these pieces via Kentico as possible for convenience.

Conditional fields in Liferay Web Content editor

We have a requirement for creating a banner for which we plan to use Web Content Display.
As part of the implementation I have created a structure with the required fields like link-type (drop-down), etc and using corresponding template.
I wish to make a conditional check based on the type of selection in the link-type and show link-to-page or text-box.
I observed that there is no option to have a conditional check in the article editor rendering.
Thus I wish to check whether there is any hack or trick that we can do to achieve the above conditional thing?
Also, can we inject custom Javascript to achieve this as part of the structure?
I finally have to stick to the default options in the liferay structure. I plan to use separator provided by LR to categories the elements to avoid end user (admin) confusion.
P.S. I was not able to locate any cool doc that would help in implementing the suggestion made by #Tobias (sorry, but I guess the wiki link above assumes you to be an expert of LR, and even the sample links in there does not work).

Orchard: Attaching a content part on-demand

I am working on a Forms Module which provides a FormPart. In the edit mode of this Part i've a listing of other ContentParts (those which implement a custom interface IForm). User can then choose one content part from the available list. The edit mode view of choosen Content Part should then be available underneath. If user changes his selection of content part the edit view should also reflect this change and load appropriate content part.
I know i can Weld Content Parts to content types using ContentHandlers but here the request has already been served and in Edit Mode view the user will specify what content part he wants to be welded.
Any suggestions or insights would be highly thankful.
If you look at the IContentDefinitionService in Orchard.ContentTypes there are several methods that you will probably find useful, primarily this one:
void AddPartToType(string partName, string typeName);
Use the source ;)

Change template html in sharepoint discussion reply box

I have a wss 3.0 install which needs an "anonymous" discussion board. I can modify the view so no usernames are displayed, however when I click on "reply", the message I'm replying to shows up in the rich text box with the username of the previous poster.
Is there a way to remove that username? or Remove the previous posted text altogether? I've found the schema.xml file with lots of relevant info under the ..12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\DiscussionsList\Discuss folder, but not sure if this is the easiest way to adjust this setting.
Any comments appreciated.
Best practice says that you should always create a custom list definition instead of trying to modify the OOB assets.
The easiest way to do this is take a copy of the 12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\DiscussionsList\Discuss folder, modify the feature Ids and names so that its unique. Then your free to change the schema render template (i.e view schema) and modify the edit and display forms.
If you need to modfify the actual entry form you may consider a custom control template : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa543922.aspx
Custom list definition : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms466023.aspx
Agrothe,
I have a similar requirement (hide or mask the author inside the reply thread.). What exactly inside of schema.xml do you think will allow you to do accomplish that?
Not sure if the list forms are exposed to xslt. If so, then perhaps this is another approach.
FWIW, the other solutions I have investigated:
(1) A custom event handler. Unfortunately, I can't pinpoint which event fires when someone click reply.
(2) Anonymous blog comments (http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2007/08/06/anonymous-comment-feature-for-sharepoint-blog-now-available-on-codeplex.aspx).
(3) the other thing I am considering, is to introduce a global anonymous active directory login, which users can use to post anonymously. Not ideal, but for the amount of time I have spent researching a solution, might be my last hope.
