I found this screen shot on a Github project, and I'd really like to give that editor a try:
https://github.com/nicklasos/numix-molokai/blob/master/numix-molokai.png
I assumed it was gvim, but the gvim I've installed (package gnome-vim) Looks very little like that application.
Am I just missing some configuration, or vim addons to get there?

First, your answer:
It's GVim, obviously, with the molokai colorscheme, obviously, Airline for the stupid fancy statusline, NERDTree for the file explorer and Tabline for the tab line replacement.
Second, a comment:
You can find the answer in that person's dotvim repository but you didn't even try to find the answer yourself before requesting the help of the whole internet.
Try a little harder, next time.

I think it's gvim with a few plugins (Nerdtree, powerline)

I'm trying to work in my terminal (I'm using the standard what I believe is a debian terminal on a chromebook) and for a while now I have had a really annoying gap between the words im typing and the actual typing cursor, the space also seems to gradually increase as I type more. I've decided to just deal with it for a while now after multiple google searches led me only to dead ends and I can no longer recall what actually caused this problem in the first place, but it's starting to frustrate me.
If anyone else gets this issue a simple change in font gets rid of the extra space.

I'm using FontAwesome with i3wm and a few characters are not displaying (fa-home, fa-heart, fa-gear,...)
I have "font pango:DejaVu Sans Mono 8, FontAwesome 8" in my i3 config file.
Even in Character Map, I see the glyph but when I double click to copy it nothing is displayed in the "Text to copy" box.
I see them when I go to the CheatSheet but if I copy and try to paste in Vim, same thing, I don't see them.
Most of the characters are ok, only a few of them don't show.
I'm wondering if it is related to what's sais at the end this question.
Any help would be appreciated as I've spend hours searching the net without success.
Best regards

I just installed the spf13 plugin suite and now whenever I try to save a new file it asks me for a password:
This appears about a second after I type :w. What is going on and how can I fix it?
As this appears after a file write, it is probably triggered by on the BufWritePost event.
:au BufWritePost
lists all potential candidates. As romainl has commented, using a distribution appears comfortable, but puts you at risk for unwanted effects, as you're giving up control of your config. If you can resolve this issue on your own, or find prompt help by the distribution's maintainer / community, okay. But if you struggle with this, re-think whether keeping the distribution is really worth it.
Vim "distributions" like spf-13 and Janus lure you with a quick install and out-of-the-box settings, but you pay the price with increased complexity (you need to understand both Vim's runtime loading scheme and the arbitrary conventions of the distribution) and inflexibility (the distribution may make some things easier, but other things very difficult). Vim is incredibly customizable, using someone else's customization makes no sense.

I am new to linux and the command line. I am using VirtualBox with linux/ubuntu and needed to open my httpd.conf file to add the following:
ServerName localhost
Now I am stuck here and cannot figure out how to save this and go back to the command line. I know this is easy for the pros but I am completely new at this.
Thanks!
P.S. I searched Google and stackoverflow as I was sure this would have already been answered but I could not find anything on it.
Here is the screen shot.

You can open your file for example with vi
vi /path/to/your/httpd.conf
after the file is open you can change to edit/insert modus of vi
:i
and edit your file. After editing you cann write and close your file
:wq
//edit:
you can store your file with nano (your editor)
CTRL+x

I am using ThunderBird 11.0.1 on Linux. How do I remove tooltip messages? I do not want tooltip hints at all. I looked at preferences and see nothing there.
Go to Options → Advanced → Config Editor. Then set browser.chrome.toolbar_tips to false.
You could get the source, remove the tooltips, compile your own version. Ok, my answer is a bit flip. But at least it's possible.
Did you try this link? Thunderbird Settings
Might be worth trying the setting from FireFox in the prefs.js...long shot but...if you want it worth a try.
The config editor is easy! Under MacOS it is Preferences -> Config Editor...
