Find a pattern in given string of URLs in Lua - string

In my Lua code I am receiving lot of URLs in form of string.
Example :
['http://www.abc.com/home/', 'http://www.abc.com/', https://www.xyz.com/v/123443/css/' , http://www.xyz.com/css/' ]
I want to fetch those URLs which are like :
https://www.xyz.com/v/123443/css/ where v is pre-defined string pattern and 123443 is random version generated to URL.
Please help me to fetch all URLs which are having that pattern into it like :
"/v/12332323/"

str = "https://www.xyz.com/v/123443/css/"
print(str:match("https?://www%.[^/]+(/v/%d+/)%w+"))
Output: /v/123443/
This pattern matches strings that starts with http or https, and then ://, the website name starting with www., a /, the pre-defined string v and "random" numbers, followed by / and other stuff.

Need guidance with Regular Expression in Python

I need help with one of my current tasks wherein i am trying to pick only the table names from the query via Python
So basically lets say a query looks like this
Create table a.dummy_table1
as
select a.dummycolumn1,a.dummycolumn2,a.dummycolumn3 from dual
Now i am passing this query into Python using STRINGIO and then reading only the strings where it starts with "a" and has "_" in it like below
table_list = set(re.findall(r'\ba\.\w+', str(data)))
Here data is the dataframe in which i have parsed the query using StringIO
now in table_list i am getting the below output
a.dummy_table1
a.dummycolumn1
a.dummycolumn2
whereas the Expected output should have been like
a.dummy_table1
<Let me know how we can get this done , have tried the above regular expression but that is not working properly>

Your current regex string r"\ba.\w+" simply matches any string which:
Begins with "a" (the "\ba" part)
Followed by a period (the "." part)
Followed by 1 or more alphanumeric characters (the "\w+" part).
If I've understood your problem correctly, you are looking to extract from str(data) any string fragments which match this pattern instead:
Begins with "a"
Followed by a period
Followed by 1 or more alphanumeric characters
Followed by an underscore
Followed by 1 or more alphanumeric characters
Thus, the regular expression should have "_\w+" added to the end to match criteria 4 and 5:
table_list = set(re.findall(r"\ba\.\w+_\w+", str(data)))

URL query param sub delimiter handling

I am trying to deal with a url string
http://localhost:8000/lastnames/location/city/215722?filter=beginswith:p&paging=(offset:2,limit:2)
How do I handle parsing out those sub objects? The (offset:2,limit:2) just gets parsed out as a string. These are accepted delimiters in the URL spec so I thought something like url.parse (in node) would handle this.
The "URL specification" (actually, "Uniform Resource Identifier (URI): Generic Syntax, RFC-3986" defines the syntax of the query component to be:
query = *( pchar / "/" / "?" )
pchar = unreserved / pct-encoded / sub-delims / ":" / "#"
In other words, sub-delims (which include parentheses) and colons really are just ordinary characters in a query.
If requested (by passing true as its second argument), url.parse will also split the query into key-value assignments using the sub-delims = and &, as per the application/x-www-form-urlencoded format. Other sub-delims are not involved in query string encoding.
Note that url.parse doesn't decode pct-encoded sequences such as %25; for that, you need decodeURIComponent. That should be done only after the components are fully broken down into their parts.
In short, if you want to parse (offset:2,limit:2) into some other structured object, you'll need to do that yourself, possibly by using regexes or -- if the format is complicated enough -- a parser generator like jison. In any event, you should leave the percent-decoding step until the very end; otherwise, percent-encoded sub-delims won't be parsed correctly.

How to extract the final part of the URL's path in Haskell

I am using Network.URI to parse a url (String).
How can I get from the returned URI (parseUri url) the last part of the path? Or there are better alternatives than Network.URI?
For example from:
http://www.foo.com/foo1/foo2/bar.html?q=2&q2=x#tag
I would like to get just "bar.html"
You can quite easily extract just the final part from a URI.
Extract the uriPath from the parsed URI, and then just take in reverse until you hit a slash.
For example,
getFinalPart :: URI -> String
getFinalPart = reverse . takeWhile (/='/') . reverse . uriPath

but it gives me the from the first occurace it find the name to the end of thr string

You're searching from the first occurrence of "name:" until the "department:Directing" with everything in between.
Instead, you need to restrict what can be between the two strings. Here for example I'm saying that the characters that make up the name can only be alphanumeric or a space:
string.match(fixstrdirector,"name:([%w ]+),department:Directing")
Alternatively, given that there's a comma separating the parameters, a better approach would be to search for "name:" followed by any characters other than a comma, followed by "department:Directing":
string.match(fixstrdirector,"name:([^,]+),department:Directing")
Of course that wouldn't work if the name had a comma it in!
Lua patterns provides - modifier for tasks as you have above. As stated on PiL - Section 20.2:
The + modifier matches one or more characters of the original class.
It will always get the longest sequence that matches the pattern.
Like *, the modifier - also matches zero or more occurrences of
characters of the original class. However, instead of matching the
longest sequence, it matches the shortest one.
Next, when you are using . to match, it'll find any and all characters satisfying the pattern. Therefore, you'll get the result from first occurence of name until the ,department:Directing is found. Since you know that it is a JSON data, you can try to match for [^,]; that is, non-comma characters.
So, for your case try:

URL rewrite with multiple parameters

I need to convert an URL, with some params like this (where the letters l,v and n represents input parameters).
/anytext/l1v5n3
to a an URL containing a query string:
/index.php?liv=1&id=5&lang=3
The parameters l, v, n could be in any order and the following value could be numeric and can include special symbols (+,-, etc.)
Any help will be appreciated!
