I created a view that is categorized, in that view it is displaying the Categorized Twisties without documents under it. Basically it should really not display the document so the twistie must not be displayed too, it is working fine for other items but for a specific one it is displaying. What are the possible causes of this problem? I've been trying to debug and play with it but the codes is working fine and it really should not display.. I would appreciate help.. I know it's simple but I don't know how to solve it sorry, it's consuming too much of my time.. so I asked it here..

This is a view property called "Don't show empty categories". You find it on the third tab of the view properties in the section "Rows".

I know there are threads out there about making changes to the refinement panel and they have so far been very helpful but now I have a question that I need a bit more assistance with.
I've created a new filter for the refinement panel. That worked very fine.
I can see the filter, when I perform a search.
But when I click on the new filter, all search results disappear and it just says: "We did not find any results for ".
I can see that the url gets my created filter attached:
results.aspx?...&r=filterfield%3D%22True%22
I have created a managed metadata property and added the field to the search results (search core results webpart).
What I'm doing wrong? Why it doesn't work?

I found the reason. I forgot to start a full crawl after creating the managed metadata field.
I've been experiencing a lot of headache for this issue I'm in. I need to create a multi-database search in xpage, this search functions like a mini google in xpage where if I type, for example,"test" all databases with the same name or contains a title with test will display. I've already looked with the Openntf Project http://www.openntf.org/main.nsf/project.xsp?r=project/Xpages%20Multi%20Database%20Search%20Custom%20Control this seems to solve my problem but unfortunately I'm encountering some error and I'm not a java specialist so I'm still waiting for the creator of the project to reply. So if you know something or tricks to do this kind of stuff its really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Ok, so I got it right by playing with the code inside the javascript in this openntf project. ( http://www.openntf.org/main.nsf/project.xsp?r=project/Xpages%20Multi%20Database%20Search%20Custom%20Control) it checks if the database is indexed or not, but unfortunately the script does not detect my indexed dbs so it throws nothing, i just comment out the line that checks it and it works! :)
I have a question regarding Drupal 7 and the Views API.
I'm writing a module that replaces specific text in views. Essentially what I'm trying to do is scan text in a view (or page for that matter). Let's say the view has [special button] will be replaced with
l(t('button'),'mypage',array('query',array('page'=>$node->nid)));
Or whatever. Please understand this is pseudo code.
I've took a look at hook_view(), hook_node_view() (http://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/modules%21node%21node.api.php/function/hook_node_view/7) and neither of them seem to work for me.
I've also looked at http://drupal.org/node/1510828 but that didn't seem to help me out.
Have you tried selecting 'rewrite the output of this field' on the field/s ?
Or alternatively Views PHP should be able to do what you want.

Since Document Types are part of Document library so you can check-out: \portal-web\docroot\html\portlet\document_library\edit_file_entry_type.jsp. and other related pages which might be accessed from this page.

I'm not sure this is possible, but figured I´d give it a shot. First a few pre-requeistes and environment details:
I´m using SharePoint 2010, SharePoint
Designer 2010, VS 2010
I want to create as little code as
possible, preferably, create it all via UI or Designer
use out of the box components as much
as possible
Here is What I want to do:
Have a custom list with custom columns (easy part)
Create a webpart with an edit interface to select a single item from this list
This same webpart when visible would display the contents of this selected item in a given layout
I know I can do this creating a custom web part and code it all from scratch, I guess my main question is, is there a way to do this with less code and more out of the box components in SP2010. If not, I guess I'm left with lots of C# code.
Any tips, or pointers in this direction will be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
I think what you're looking for is the Data Form Web Part.
Unfortunately, I can't find any good tutorials for 2010, but hopefully the steps should be similar to setting it up in 2007.
Thanks all for the update. In the end, i had to create quite a bit of code to get this to work:
created a web part that enumerates
the content type,
creates a light box that has a picker
then stores the ID of the content in a column
Not the easiest way,but the only way I could get it working. Thanks again!
