I am trying to replace a comma with another field so you can import the data using a csv. I can do that successfuly by adding .ToString().Replace(","," And ") to the end of the field
EX. Fields!Fieldname.Value.ToString().Replace(","," And ")). This will replace the comma with the word And.
The issue I have encounterd is when the field is blank. It then exports a #Error in the cell. I have tried hiding the cell if it is blank but that works for everything but when it exports to a .csv.
If I cannot get the field to be just blank I would like to have it display 99.
Please help.
I have tried this as well...
=Iif(isNothing(Fields!FieldName.Value),"99",(Fields!FieldName.Value.ToString().Replace(","," And ")))
It still displayed an error
The problem is that you are trying to convert NULL (Nothing) to a string. Both sides of IIF are evaluated so even though you will never see the result, false part is failing when FieldName is null.
TO get round this, we first check if the field is null, then replace that with and emptry string "" and then do the ToString() bit.
try the following...
=IIF(
isNothing(Fields!TestField.Value),
"",
(IIF(IsNothing(Fields!TestField.Value),
"",
Fields!TestField.Value
).ToString().Replace(","," And "))
)

select from list by index ${locator_var} ${inp_msge_type}
--getting error as expected string, int found
select from list by index ${locator_var} 7
-----not getting any error
${inp_msge_type}----contains 7 from DB query the result is stored in this variable, to avoid hard coding we need to do this
Is there any way to write
Do not add links to screenshots of code, or error messages, and format the code pieces accordingly - use the ` (tick) symbol to surround them.
The rant now behind us, your issue is that the keyword Select From List By Index expects the type of the index argument to be a string.
When you called it
Select From List By Index ${locator_var} 7
, that "7" is actually a string (though it looks like a number), because this is what the framework defaults to on any typed text. And so it works.
When you get the value from the DB, it is of the type that the DB stores it with; and probably the table schema says it is int. So now you pass an int to the keyword - and it fails.
The fix is simple - just cast (convert) the variable to a string type:
${inp_msge_type}= Convert To String ${inp_msge_type}
, and now you can call the keyword as you did before.
I need to fill a cell with a data, separated by 'new line' symbol.
I've tried:
data: l_con_sepa TYPE c VALUE cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline.
...
CONCATENATE <gf_aufk>-tplnr " 6000000159 Korchagin AS 02.02.2017
<gf_aufk>-pltxt
l_con_sepa
<gf_aufk>-aufnr
INTO lv_str
SEPARATED BY space.
Tried to use CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF. Tried to use "&" and "#" symbols. Tried to wrap lv_str with quotes. Nothing.
I either got symbols as is, or just a blank space insted of 'alt+enter' equivalent.
A simple experiment with Excel, namely creating a cell with Alt+Enter characters and saving it as a CSV file, shows that such a new line symbol is LF and not CR_LF. Moreover it is put there in double quotes.
So just use double quotes and CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE.
It must work with CSV. You did not specify what API you use to export your data to XLS format, so I cannot test it. If you do not mind putting those details in the question, please do so.
Assuming you use FM SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT, there is even no need for double quotes.

The result looks like follows
I thought that it might be caused by CONCATENATE .. INTO .. SEPARATED BY space but it is not. Please execute the following program in order to check it out.

So the problem must be somewhere else. You are not showing us your whole code. Maybe you use some kind of a third party package to process your Excel files?
I don't remember if it's needed to add an "end of line" symbol.
Just append each line into a table and download the full table using FM SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT.
In list I have a column 'Issue' which is Choice type having values "One, Two, Three, Four & Five, Six" etc. When I run SPQuery for this column it worked properly except the value 'Four & Five'. Problem is with '&'. It throws error there. When I tried, special character in the column field value, it worked except '&' again.
How can I resolve this, I can take 'and' instead but I want to run with '&'.
Query is:
<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='Issue'/><Value Type='Chioce'>Four & Five</Value></Eq></Where>
Assuming that you are using XML in your query you shouldn't use special characters without converting them first.
Try it like this: 'Four & Five'
I am trying to update a computed fields value on click of a button with a value of a edit box + its own value.
Code written on button: here i put value of edit box in scope variable and make edit box blank. comment_te is the name of edit box
requestScope.put("commentValue", getComponent("comments_te").getValue);
getComponent("comments_te").setValue("");
Code written for value of computed field: comments is the name of computed field
getComponent("comments").getValue + "\n" + requestScope.get("commentValue")
But I get the output is:
0 com.ibm.xsp.component.xp.XspInputText#65426542
Please help me with this.
You're missing the parentheses in your calls to getValue(). By omitting these, you're returning a pointer to the getValue method of the component, not the result of invoking that method. Change each reference to getValue to getValue(), and you'll get a different result.
Your code returning the Object.
Try the following.
This following code get the the editbox value and set to a scope variable.
requestScope.commentValue = getComponent("comments_te").value;
getComponent("comments_te").value = "";
This following code sets the value to the computed field.
getComponent("comments").value = getComponent("comments").value + "\n" + requestScope.commentValue;
When you are appending the value to the computed field, as default it will add 0 to its value. Do the validation if you want.
I hope this helps you...!!!
