Permissions change when pushing files to server - iis

Every time I Publish changes in files to my remote server on Coda 2, the permissions change on the server and the files are broken once they go live, requiring me to open up my server control panel and globally apply full permissions every time I make a small change.
Is there anything, particularly on the server, that could be causing this behavior? Perhaps an FTP setting? I could not find anything.
Server: IIS (Windows) running Plesk
Application: Coda 2

1. Open Preferences
2. Select 'Rules'
3. Add the filetypes you need to upload under the Permissions block
4. Edit the server permissions on the right hand side for each file type.
Booooom!

IIS ftp server not responding to get file size

I have an external board that is connected to my IIS ftp server.
I am running the external board code, and it downloads SUCCESSFULLY a file from my ftp server.
inside this file there is another file name in the root ftp folder that the board is trying to get it's file size and fail (from what i see in the log).
When I am doing the same operation with the same files over the Board's manufacturers ftp server - the operation succeeded.
Do i need to do something special in order to allow getting the file size in my ftp server ?
Locate your ftp site on left pane. Find "ftp directory browsing" on right pane. Set UNIX instead of MS-DOS (default). Alternatively edit configuration manually https://www.iis.net/configreference/system.applicationhost/sites/site/ftpserver/directorybrowse

Kentico 9 media library files are 0KB after upload

I think this is a server setting issue, but when image are uploaded, the file length ends up being 0kb. I don't get any errors in the event log. I can see the file written to the server, it just has no data. I don't know where to look for a fix.
First step i would do is make sure the IIS Application pool has full security control over your CMS folder. If you don't have this set, it may not allow it to write files/modify. You can do this by right clicking on your CMS folder and going to Properties, Security, add user, and search for the user "IIS APPPOOL\TheAppPoolName" on the local machine.
If you're hosted, they may have tools in their file editor to do the same.

Cannot edit files in IIS localhost server

I have to edit a website on local server. I use Windows Server 2012 and IIS. When I try to save a modified file I only get "access denied" error. Do I need to shut down the server before making changes and then restarting it or am I missing permissions for example in the wwwroot folder for IIS_IUSRS?
I have never used WS2012 or IIS before.
You cannot edit files directly in the wwwroot. You need to copy the file/folder out of inetpub to make your edits then paste it back into the wwwroot. This is by design I am afraid.
I was able to do edits directly in the wwwroot files by creating a local user account for myself on the server and giving it FULL access (I am also in the Administrators group - but that was not enough to make it work), then setting the user full access on the SHARE I use to get to the server (via UNC path). Allows edits directly to my live site.

OwnCloud Remove all files prompt

I have a owncloud server and the owncloud desktop client.What I want to do is to be able to delete things server wise and have it automatically delete from the pc. The problem is that the owncloud client displays a warning message of "Remove All Files"? with the choices of Remove all files or to keep files when the files are deleted from the server. Is there a way to not have the prompt come up and automatically remove all files?
In the version 2.2.3 (maybe earlier), you can change the configuration file to disable the prompt.
See the code where the prompt is invoked and the code showing the configuration file property.
If you edit (on Windows): c:\Users\myuser\AppData\Owncloud\owncloud.cfg and add the following, under the [General] section, you will no longer get the prompt.
promptDeleteAllFiles=false
The short answer: You cannot change this currently.
The long answer: The dialog was added as a safe-guard because there were cases where you could lose all your files unintentionally, e.g. if your admin re-created your account and left it empty. The client would assume the files had gone and would replicate this (it could not know better), so it would replicate the data removal locally. The code is still there today just to be safe.
If you are fearless, you can patch Folder::slotAboutToRemoveAllFiles(). Alternatively, you could open a bug report so we can solve this for everyone. What is your motivation to be able to do this without a prompt?
PS: The sources can be found on GitHub. URL and build instructions at http://doc.owncloud.org/desktop/1.5/building.html.
I have a script that processes the files that someone drops into ownCloud and it will then move them to the final storage place. However, this prompt stops the client from syncing until I manually log in to acknowledge it... I guess I will learn how to patch this.. Dropbox doesn't do this. Google Drive doesn't do this. But since I can't use cloud services (compliance issues), I have to use this solution until I can build a new secure upload means.

Restarting IIS on file changed

AFAIK IIS restarts, whenever any of the web.config files is changed.
I've created my own configuration files (my.config, with slightly different hierarchy). Is there any possibility to have IIS automatically (automagically :)) restarted, whenever any of these are changed, too?
EDIT: I've considered filesystem watchers, but I'm not sure where to put them.
You mean to say that whenever you change my.config iis has to be restarted automatically.
Maybe you can write a batch file to perform your iisreset functinality alone if you dont want the user to manually restart IIS. But even if you give a batch file the user still needs to execute.
quick and ugly fix would be put config files in bin directory.
btw. I don't believe I am writing this ;)
these changes restarts web app:
* web.config
* machine.config
* global.asax
* Anything in the bin directory or it's sub-directories
copy/pasted from here Common reasons why your application pool may unexpectedly recycle
Use SomeAssemly.dll.config which will be put into ~/Bin, automatic be read on app (re)start and cause app restart on edit.
Note that App.config in project becomes $(OutputAssembly).config on build
